Every person who had been by Long Yi’s side had now beco mature, reliable elders, commanding considerable respect within the military. The head chef had six children, with the oldest being eighteen and just recently married. Mosquito, basking in bliss every day despite having no children of his own, never showed signs of aging under the influence of Blood Raven’s power. Eventually, Mosquito simply adopted so children and taught them his combat skills, considering it a duty fulfilled to his family.
Wesley, after the Divine Envoy girl left, sank into a deep depression for a long ti. Although he seed to have moved on later, he never regained his forr playful character, and the codic trio was definitively disbanded.
Every year, these few individuals would gather in the Imperial Palace, joining Emperor Kirei in their sighs and lants, and this year was no exception. The three of them, now part of their families’ decision-making processes, t in the back garden of the Imperial Palace. They chatted and watched the children laughing together. The children of the head chef and Mosquito were always full of competitive spirit, neither willing to concede to the other, each encounter ending with a clear winner.
The older children competed in combat, while the younger ones in gas—even a ga of hide and seek was an occasion to determine the victor.
When Long Yi teleported and appeared in the Imperial Palace’s lower array, the intense dizziness almost brought him to his knees. He forced himself to endure the spinning sensation and lay on the ground, gasping desperately, hoping the feeling would subside quickly.
The entire Human Realm was protected by Giant’s arrays, and the Imperial Palace’s lower array was one of the few entrances that would not trigger an alarm.
As Long Yi was recovering, a group of children ran over.
"Look! There’s soone here!" a child shouted.
"Where?" other children followed suit.
"Here! Right here!"
Long Yi barely opened his eyes and saw a group of children, none older than nine, surrounding him.
"Sneaky and mysterious, definitely a spy from an enemy country! Trying to steal our White Dragon Empire’s secrets!" declared an older, slightly chubby boy. Long Yi looked closer at the chubby kid, and sohow, he seed to bear a resemblance to the head chef.
Could this be the head chef’s child?
"So we’ve caught a spy from the enemy country?" a little girl excitedly clapped her hands.
"Ou Ye! We’re heroes! Quick, let’s take this guy to my dad!" The children unleashed their weak Fighting Aura and magic, trying to lift Long Yi, but how could he be lifted easily? Seeing the struggle on the kids’ faces, Long Yi suppressed his dizziness and decided to lift himself. It was done so subtly that the children had no clue!
"Yay! Look how powerful our magic is?"
"Idiot! It’s our Fighting Aura that’s strong!"
"No, you’re the idiot! It’s the magic that’s powerful!"
"Fighting Aura is powerful!"
Both sides bickered until the chubby boy intervened: "Stop arguing! What if the spy runs away while we wait? Let’s take him to our dad."
It was clear the chubby kid was the leader, as all the children imdiately pushed Long Yi forward.
"You! You’re the fastest runner. Go tell the adults—we’ve accomplished a great feat by catching an enemy spy!" The chubby boy instructed a skinny child, who nodded silently and dashed away. True to the chubby boy’s word, the kid ran swiftly.
anwhile, the head chef, Mosquito, Wesley, and Kirei were chatting about the past and, of course, discussing national affairs. Just then, the skinny child arrived by Mosquito’s side: "Dad, Dad, we caught a spy!"
A spy?
The adults laughed, assuming the children were just playing their wild gas, no longer distinguishing friend from foe.
"Alright, where’s the spy?" Mosquito asked patiently, a stark contrast to his usual icy deanor.
"He’s just behind, we’ll bring him over soon!" said the child.
Hearing this, the adults stopped their conversation, intrigued to see who the children had ’caught’—perhaps a guard or a maid? No one truly believed there was actually a spy within the White Dragon Empire’s Imperial Palace.
Soon enough, the children erged, and in their midst, there was a person floating mid-air. The kids were earnestly releasing magic and Fighting Aura to support him, but to the seasoned warriors watching, it was clear the chaotic magic and Fighting Aura from the children couldn’t possibly lift the large adult. It was, in fact, the man himself who was keeping himself afloat!
Though unclear who it was as the person lay there, it was evident he was not an enemy.
"Ha-ha! The spy is here! We’re heroes!" boasted the chubby boy as he pushed Long Yi forward, then stood with hands on hips and head held high.
Following that, he saw the expressions on the faces of the adults in front of him change.
At first, they were smiling, just as they would look at children. But then, every person’s face turned.
The chef, Mosquito, Wesley, even Emperor Kirei. Their expressions froze on their faces, their bodies stiffened right where they were.
They even forgot to breathe.
"Hey hey, long ti no see, brothers," said Long Yi lying there, waving his hand.
"Beat him to death!" the chef yelled, as Mosquito and Wesley charged forward at the sa ti. No Fighting Aura, no magic, no Divine Power, just pure fists and brute force.
The children thought they had really caught a spy, shouting excitedly, but then the four grown n hugged each other and cried together.
"Damn it! You bastard, how could it take you twenty years to co back!" the chef said as he cried.
"You’re a disgrace, you fat ass! Look at , I don’t even miss him!" Mosquito also said in tears.
"Did you see my wife?" Wesley asked at the sa ti, also crying.
The group of crying people began to laugh.
"In fact, I did see your wife," Long Yi said.
"What! Really!" Wesley wiped away a tear and said excitedly.
"Yes, really. She has fully beco a true god, without a doubt, she is actually the Creator God, Simu, of our entire multiverse," Long Yi said.
"Oh my God, the husband of the Creator God!" The chef and Mosquito, still with snot and tears on their faces, were already driven by their instinct as entertainers.
"Well, in fact, I always thought this day would co. It’s for the best, at least I’ve been in love," Wesley said sentintally.
"Your brother cos back after twenty years and that’s not as important as your wife, eh?" Long Yi pinched Wesley’s face and said, "Besides, when did you beco so sentintal?"
Wesley’s tears poured out again: "Big brother! I miss my wife!"
Long Yi was at a loss. He thought he could reawaken Wesley’s soul as an entertainer, but it turned out he ssed up. He looked for help at the chef and Mosquito, then at Kirei. The latter all shook their heads helplessly, indicating they had no solution.
"Alright, when I’m done with things here, I’ll see if I can help you out," Long Yi said, pushing Wesley to the ground.
"Really!" Wesley said, looking at Long Yi with tearful eyes.
"Bro, you’re disgusting. I’ve just gone through four or five Plane transfers, I’m still feeling sick. Can you keep away from ?" Long Yi pushed Wesley’s face to one side.
At this mont, Kirei finally ca over.
Smack!
Two hands clasped together, they looked at each other and smiled, but they didn’t talk nonsense.
"So, you ca back alone this ti without alarming anyone; there must be a huge problem. Otherwise, with your personality, you’d have to turn everything upside down," Kirei said with a smile. Although his eyes were a little moist, years of being an Emperor had allowed him to control his emotions well. Like the chef and Mosquito, he also wanted to cry, but he couldn’t, at least not now.
"That’s why I like dealing with smart people. Let put it simply: the Divine Worm that drove the Creator God insane has hidden a powerful Nest in this multiverse, and the Nest arrived in the Human Realm with a ship called the Ancient Mage Tower. All I have to do now is find that ship and control the Nest," Long Yi said.
"If it has co to the Human Realm, it shouldn’t be hidden too deeply. Let’s look for it," Kirei said nonchalantly.
