The next day, everyone in Long Yi’s newly joined squad was practically holding their breath. Since Long Yi had just joined, he hadn’t been assigned an opponent yet. Almost the entire training ground had quieted down, not because their matches were particularly valuable, but because everyone wanted to see how the famously foolish newcor would fight today!
Soon, a group of warriors finished their battle and a winner was decided. The victor walked slowly over to Long Yi, tightly gripping the Energy Greatsword in both hands and roared, "Co on!"
"You just finished a battle, don’t you want to rest a bit?" asked Long Yi, seemingly ’kindly.’
"No need to rest to deal with you!" he declared, and without waiting for Long Yi to draw his tal Greatsword, he charged straight at him. But with a clang, the Energy Sword still struck the tal Greatsword. The warrior imdiately felt his Energy Greatsword about to shatter!
"Damn it!"
Boom!
At the mont of the energy collapse, the warrior forcibly detonated his Greatsword, causing both fighters to take several steps back. Then a second Energy Greatsword appeared, and once again, the two different-material Greatswords collided. And just like before, the Energy Greatsword nearly collapsed again!
Boom!
The Energy Greatsword was detonated again.
Clearly, everyone had seen it clearly. The main reason for Henki’s bizarre advantage was obviously the strange tal Greatsword in his hands. This tal Greatsword seed to also be made of Alloy material, but its luster was not quite similar to that of pure energy alloy.
What could it be?
Everyone was curious about what exactly was going on, but the battle between the two parties continued nonetheless. Since everyone else had understood the secret behind Henki’s tal Greatsword, his opponent had even more reason to understand it. Knowing that it was the tal Greatsword causing trouble, the other warrior disparaged it even more.
tal weapons had been phased out by this race mainly because they weren’t easy to repair and were less flexible. After all, a tal weapon with mass was quite cumberso compared to a pure energy weapon. So, Long Yi’s opponent decided to use his agility to overco Long Yi!
Being an experienced combatant, Long Yi quickly realized that his opponent planned to use agility to defeat him. Clearly, the warrior made a common mistake by overemphasizing the importance of agility. In fact, a simple truth could explain the situation, no matter how agile you think you are, you still need to move to engage in combat, and a combat expert as observant as Long Yi could easily guess your intentions through your movents.
Clang!
The Energy Greatsword collided with the tal Greatsword again, and predictably, exploded. The warrior dodged swiftly, changing his attack angle, and the Energy Sword exploded again, then he dodged once more.
Three consecutive tis, despite his tricky angles and having pushed his speed to the limit, his Energy Greatsword seed magnetically attracted to collide perfectly with the opponent’s tal Greatsword.
Damn it!
The warrior grew anxious.
"Since that’s the case, let’s see how you handle my dual swords!" the warrior bellowed, holding an Energy Sword in each hand and slashing down from two different angles. Yet at that mont, Long Yi internally dismissed his opponent as an idiot.
Though powerful, the Energy Sword still wasn’t deadly enough to finish the enemy in one strike. So, why bother blocking at all!
Long Yi sidestepped, raised his Alloy Greatsword horizontally, and struck with full force!
Seeing that Long Yi didn’t block, the opponent instantly realized that he had fallen into a fixed mindset—Henki, though seemingly foolish, was also a warrior ready to strike!
By then, already in the midst of a sprint, it was too late to dodge. The warrior imdiately directed his slashing Energy Swords towards the swinging Alloy Greatsword of Long Yi, and unsurprisingly, both Energy Swords exploded upon impact, blasting the warrior back. Long Yi’s Greatsword also struck his leg, severing the armored limb instantly!
Losing both legs ant losing the ability to fight. But at least he wasn’t ejected from the field, which seed less embarrassing.
However, this battle nearly confird Henki’s strength within the entire squad. Because the recently defeated warrior ranked among the top in the squad, now that Henki—played by Long Yi—had beaten him, it naturally proved that Long Yi was stronger, didn’t that an Long Yi also ranked among the top?
The whole squad looked uneasy, even the instructor’s expression darkened. Although no one knew what was going on, and why a fool had suddenly turned into an outstanding warrior, no one wanted to be the stepping stone for soone else’s ascension.
"Don’t just stand there, continue the matches!" the instructor shouted.
At this mont, the instructor of the previous squad cheered up.
"See, our squad isn’t so bad! Even our dumbest Henki managed to defeat their top warriors, which shows our unlimited potential!"
It wasn’t a joke that many fighters could laugh about, since after all, Henki had ascended over their heads with a record of complete victories!
