A silent wave expanded, and Long Yi and Lingling’s Mana began to drain rapidly. The wave swept over each Nightmare Knight, and those engaged in battle imdiately halted. At the sa ti, a warning resonated from within their bodies, "Hardware malfunction detected, irreparable, ejecting damaged hardware." Then, the Nightmare Knights opened their mouths and spat out the tiny device that had been completely scorched.
Afterward, as if following a command, the Nightmare Knights simultaneously crushed the device in their hands, grinding it to dust.
"This magic is more draining than I expected, give a hand!" Long Yi shouted.
Instantly, all the Nightmare Knights released energy and began a Mana Resonance with Long Yi, accelerating the wave that had slowed, expanding it rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, it swept across the entire circumference of Whitestar.
Having done all this, Long Yi took a deep breath and looked distantly at the Group Leader of the Nightmare Knights, asking, "What now?"
The Nightmare Knight Group Leader was silent for a mont, then spoke, "After diagnostics, all Nightmare Knights have been liberated from control. We will once again act upon the orders of our Group Leader, and to prevent such situations from occurring again, we have written Ruosha Group Leader’s highest priority into our core commands."
Ruosha put away her giant anchor, ca to the Group Leader of the Nightmare Knights, tapped on the armor on its arm, and said with satisfaction, "Not bad at all! I always said I didn’t spoil you for nothing!"
With the issue of the Nightmare Knight Order resolved, what ca next was much easier, as Long Yi and Ruosha found the commanding device under the lead of the Nightmare Knight Group Leader.
It was a device sealed inside a tal container, Ruosha had seen this thing before but she never knew it was used to remotely command the Nightmare Knights. According to the Nightmare Knight Group Leader, there were hundreds more of these devices within Whitestar, covering all internal regions.
"Dismantle and destroy them all, don’t let that guy leave any traces here," Ruosha ordered.
"Let hold onto this device for now," Long Yi said with a smile as he looked at the device.
At this mont, the Divine Worm, the false god Simu, was waiting for news from the Nightmare Knights. As the creator of the Nightmare Knights, her feelings toward them were complicated. She considered the Nightmare Knights to be powerful warriors, yet she disliked their ability to grow in intelligence with accumulating knowledge. In her view, the Nightmare Knights should rely be tools of war.
Thus, she had deceived an emperor to secretly build Whitestar, then decisively abandoned it. Of course, she didn’t destroy Whitestar because the project had taken a century of her effort and most of her knowledge—though that knowledge was stolen from Giants.
When she heard that Ruosha had obtained her Whitestar and even spun a tale about it, she did not step out to debunk it. Being a Divine Worm, her first thought was not about Ruosha possessing sothing that belonged to her, but that finally, soone could help her test those Nightmare Knights. Moreover, in the subsequent battles, the power of the Nightmare Knights far exceeded her expectations, exciting Simu for a long ti. She knew that once Whitestar and another secretly built planet she currently owned were both under her control, she would be invincible across the entire Plane! By now, those of her kind seeking the power of the Star Devourers had been eradicated by Isrile and Ruosha, leaving only the Balance Church as her sole rival. With Ruosha’s help, the Nightmare Knights had already battled the mbers of the Balance Church!
Perhaps she was truly invincible!
But everything changed a year ago. A year ago, Simu received a ssage from a higher Plane, sent by a stronger peer, stating that a Giant who had acquired Divine Status was about to enter the middle Plane! It was for this reason that Simu had hastily co forward. Her only goal was to disrupt the local religious landscape, plunging everyone into fear.
In Simu’s view, a Giant with Divine Status? That must have been incredibly lucky.
However, when Long Yi appeared, Simu was deeply shocked. Whether it was Divine Status or Divine Power, Long Yi was far above her! It was for this reason that Simu decided to observe Long Yi cautiously, not provoking him directly. But Long Yi used his Divine Power to forcefully snatch the dragon-shaped Giant Monster, and then, using information obtained from the Giant Monster, he tracked down Hong En Empire. After that, he began to suspect Whitestar!
Like all Divine Worms, Simu preferred to stay hidden, watching her enemies self-destruct amidst chaos. If possible, she did not want to conflict with any opponents. But now it was different, she did not want to surrender Whitestar.
Thus, she ordered the Nightmare Knights to stop Long Yi. But evidently, these foolish Nightmare Knights had failed to grasp her intention. Even one of the Nightmare Knights had its device for obeying her orders dismantled by Long Yi!
This action by Long Yi truly frightened Simu because the technology used by these Nightmare Knights was almost entirely that of the Giants, and unfortunately, Long Yi was exactly a Giant! The potential power that these Nightmare Knights might unleash in the hands of Long Yi was sothing even she dared not imagine! It was for this reason she issued a second order, requiring all Nightmare Knights to mobilize.
In her view, no matter how powerful Long Yi and Ruosha were, they were only two people. anwhile, the millions of Nightmare Knights within Whitestar were enough to overwhelm them.
So, she quietly waited for news.
Finally, the device used for communication transmitted a response.
"Report to , Nightmare Knight! Have you eliminated the enemy?" asked Simu.
"Ahem, sorry, I’m not a Nightmare Knight, just an innocent passerby, I just picked up a device like this on the way, so I wanted to try if it works, maybe I could exchange it for money," ca the voice of Long Yi.
Boom!
Simu imdiately destroyed the device in front of her; she knew Long Yi had won. Although she didn’t know how Long Yi had done it, she was sure that Long Yi had truly succeeded.
At that mont, Simu’s entire body was trembling. She had not anticipated Long Yi achieving victory while surrounded by such a large group of Nightmare Knights. But thinking back, the techniques used by Whitestar and the Nightmare Knights were mostly those of the Giant, and Long Yi, being a Giant, would naturally know how to counter them—this was almost certain.
That is to say, they were now in the upper hand.
Simu cald herself down, and after a careful thought, she made a decision.
"It’s ti to find an ally for myself.
"This bastard is more cautious than I thought," Long Yi said, looking at the non-responsive device.
"That ans it’s chickened out!" Ruosha exclaid, hands on hips.
"No, it ans it’s more cunning than we thought," Long Yi said.
"So, what do we do now?" Ruosha asked.
Long Yi thought for a mont, his expression slightly changed, he sighed, "Originally I planned to deal with Whitestar’s matter and then probe the real situation of the Balance Church, but now it seems, we have likely forced the Giant Monster’s pretender god and the people from the Balance Church to collaborate."
"Is that possible? Aren’t they opponents?" Ruosha asked.
"Now they have a bigger enemy, which is . They must stop , and to do that, they will definitely unite," Long Yi said.
Ruosha thought for a mont, then suddenly exclaid, "Help contact Isrile!"
Within Whitestar, no matter where, Ruosha’s orders would be executed imdiately.
A mont later, Isrile appeared on the screen, her brows furrowed tightly, "Even if you hadn’t contacted , I was just about to contact you."
"What happened?" Long Yi asked.
"Just now, the space portal left by the Balance Church suddenly closed, and I can’t open it. I think they’ve realized their secret has been exposed," Isrile said.
"These worms really are careful," Long Yi said, shaking his head and smiling.
"The Balance Church claid they were in a rift in space-ti, but now it seems, that might just have been a lie," Ruosha said.
"Whether it’s a lie or not, I don’t know, but I know we can take a break for now," Long Yi said.
Indeed, since arriving in this plane, Long Yi had been caught up in relentless, unprepared battles, and hadn’t had a proper rest until now.
Now he could finally relax, and most importantly, carefully sort out the events happening in this current plane.
Since returning to Hell, Tilian had been imrsing himself in the library. He had initially planned to inquire the Eternal Emperor Rongka about gods and Divine Envoys, but recently, Eternal Emperor Rongka had been completely untraceable. Tilian had even risked going to lower levels to inquire from their lords or emperors, but to no avail. That ant Rongka had indeed disappeared.
As a being from Hell, even though hailed as the Eternal Emperor, Rongka found it difficult to leave Hell for extended periods. Born from the mud of Hell, his strength was imnse, yet he was bound here. If it weren’t for Tilian’s close association, he wouldn’t have known such details.
Thus, Tilian could only search for information himself in Rongka’s vast library, and the Black Dragon Tyl, as the librarian, had provided him much assistance. He organized all the stories related to gods and handed them to Tilian, saving him a lot of ti.
However, truly useful information was rare. Various docunts’ descriptions of gods were vague and generalized, lacking anything valuable, and even less so regarding Divine Envoys; one docunt even ca from the Human Realm, and that Divine Envoy was naturally Wesley’s wife.
After spending ti in the library without any valuable findings, even Tilian felt disheartened. And just at that mont, the Eternal Emperor Rongka returned, and his life was in danger!
