Actually, Long Yi now had the capability to lift the curse of the Dragon Clan completely, whether it was the curse of power or the curse of reproduction—they could all be lifted, but he must be extrely cautious now.
The genetic modification surgery was completely entrusted to Little Zi, who was now very adept at using Divine Power. Modifying the genes of the Dragon Clan was sothing Little Zi had helped with from the beginning, and now he no longer needed Long Yi’s assistance.
At this mont, Long Yi was aboard the great explorer vessel, and the Giant’s Scepter was nearly finished creating the life chain composed entirely of magic.
The genetic sample Long Yi chose ca from the Giant’s sample library, and theoretically, that should have been sufficient. However, the Giant’s Scepter occasionally jamd at certain points where using certain genetic segnts always resulted in failure. Therefore, Long Yi had the intelligent interface make adjustnts on the fly, switching to a different set of genes whenever there was a failure. For example, the original gene sample was male, but the Y chromoso could not be completed no matter what, and it had to switch to the X chromoso to proceed.
Sure enough, this mana gene could not entirely follow what was in the gene bank.
Finally, after several setbacks, a complete genetic core was done.
So, what now?
Such a large group of genes, there couldn’t possibly be a corresponding egg cell to develop it, right? Moreover, these chromosos were entirely composed of magic; even if there was a desire to create an egg cell for it, it was not possible.
At that mont.
In the Human Realm.
Wesley, now promoted to instructor, was teaching his warriors. This was a newly ford scout camp, and all the warriors in this camp were Observation Dragon Riders. Initially in battle, Wesley and his Observation Dragon had won countless honors, and Long Yi often attributed the victories to Wesley’s effective reconnaissance, which made Emperor Kirei of the White Dragon Empire take Observation Dragon Riders very seriously. He selected a group from the civilians, ford a special reconnaissance camp, and Wesley imparted his own battle experience and skills to them.
These techniques had only one focal point: learning to flee.
This was almost contrary to the spirit of the Dragon Riders, but the scout camp was different—they did not rely on combat strength to serve the battlefield, but on their strong observation ability and judgnt to serve the battlefield.
Thus, by saving themselves, they preserved the entire battle situation.
Under this slogan, the entire scout camp began diligently training in escape techniques. Wesley’s thod of training them was even more crude and straightforward, taking people from the scout camp to various camps to cause trouble and then allowing them to escape individually. As fellow Dragon Riders, they naturally could not fail to respond, so for a period of ti, the Dragon Rider camps chasing the scout camp’s mbers beca a special scenery.
At this ti, Wesley was in the air, sitting on the back of the Observation Dragon. At this mont, the Observation Dragon was covered in dazzling runes; although still oppressed by the rules of the Human Realm, it now had much more aura than before due to many lifted curses.
anwhile, Wesley watched the movents of his new recruits below, occasionally shaking his head, lanting that these newcors did not have the abnormal teaching thods of Long Yi, and in such a peaceful period, it was difficult for them to grow quickly.
While he was still reflecting on this, suddenly, a golden light surged straight to the sky in the distance, while a wave of Divine Power spread out. The mont that fluctuation touched Wesley, he vanished instantly.
Wesley only felt a flash in front of him, and then he was embraced by soone. Looking closely, it was the Divine Envoy.
At this mont, the Divine Envoy was bathed in golden light, and her body seed to be ascending to the sky involuntarily!
"What’s happening, dear?" Wesley shouted.
"What I feared has co to pass! A Divine Egg has appeared, I am compelled by an irresistible force to leave this place!" the Divine Envoy said sorrowfully.
"How can it be so soon? Wasn’t it said that there might not be any news for perhaps hundreds of years?" Wesley asked, puzzled.
"I don’t know, I only know that this is my mission, and I can’t resist it," the Divine Envoy said, as tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
"Alright! I understand! Go!" Wesley suddenly let go of the Divine Envoy, took two steps back, turned around, and faced away from her, while the Divine Envoy began to ascend uncontrollably.
"Dear?" the Divine Envoy was very confused and even stopped crying.
"Perhaps, I’m just a mortal," Wesley said, "Maybe I can’t attain immortality. Maybe I can’t understand your great mission, but I only know that I love you, I really love you! So, I’ll wait here for you! I’ll keep waiting here! If one day, you complete your mission; if one day, you can return here; if that day, I’m still here, then I... I... I..."
By then, Wesley could no longer utter a sound.
The Divine Envoy smiled. Although this love was brief, it was worth rembering forever.
"I will co back, I swear by my Divine Status!"
Boom!
The golden light disappeared, and the Divine Envoy was gone without a trace. The chef and a mosquito quickly arrived only to see Wesley standing there, with tears all over the ground.
"Let’s go, brother. We won’t go ho unless we’re drunk," the chef ca over, put his arm around Wesley’s shoulder, and said softly.
anwhile, aboard the great explorer vessel, that cluster of chromosos suddenly emitted a strange roar, following which each individual magic nucleic acid began to operate!
My god, this thing can even run on its own?
Boom!
A golden light pierced the great explorer vessel, aid at the cosmos, and tore space not far from it!
Long Yi cautiously watched that space rift, unsure of what would erge next.
But soon, a very familiar wave of Divine Power burst from the rift. Following the golden light, it entered the operating chromosos.
Suddenly, all the golden light began to converge, the space inexplicably vibrated, and a powerful force was drawn from the void and gathered around. Gradually, it ford an incredibly huge ovum!
But that wasn’t the most surprising part, what really shocked Long Yi was the Divine Power that had just appeared.
"Are you the Divine Envoy, miss?" Long Yi asked.
Who else could this girl in front of him be, if not the Divine Envoy?
"What? You’re Long Yi?" The Divine Envoy asked in a tone of utter disbelief.
"Oh my god, I thought it would be so great god showing up out of nowhere, but it turns out to be you," Long Yi said, delightedly.
"Yes, of course, it’s ," the Divine Envoy said.
"How’s the Chef? The Mosquito? Wesley? Kirei? And the old Dean? And..."
"Stop, everyone you care about is doing well. The Chef has beco a father now, he has many children. Mosquito is still spending every day with the Dandi sisters, ticulously researching how to make children. And Kirei... the old Dean... they are all doing well. The White Dragon Empire is now the strongest empire in the Human Realm, though gradually so nations seem sowhat discontented, none have dared to challenge the White Dragon Empire yet," she explained.
"Wait, you didn’t ntion Wesley," Long Yi said.
"Wesley... should be fine, I guess. He was very sad when he watched leave, but I believe he’s a brave man and will cheer up soon," the Divine Envoy said, her mood slightly dampened.
"Alright, alright, my bad, my bad. Look at my poor emotional intelligence. Let’s not talk about this. How did you suddenly appear here?" Long Yi quickly changed the subject.
"I thought it was so extrely dangerous entity that had reconstructed the Divine Soul, but unexpectedly, it turned out to be you," the Divine Envoy said.
"Wait a minute! You said this is a Divine Soul? You an this isn’t a Divine Worm?" Long Yi’s eyes, which were already not small, widened even further.
"Divine Worm? What is that?" The Divine Envoy was utterly baffled.
Long Yi was even more baffled, having always considered it to be the Divine Worm. And now, she ca to tell him it was a Divine Soul?
So, Long Yi explained the whole story of how he first ca to know about the Divine Worm right up to the present to the Divine Envoy.
"Oh my god, the things happening to you here are truly spectacular. But hunting Divine Status seems quite incredible to ," the Divine Envoy said, overwheld.
"I guess even the gods didn’t expect that at the ti," Long Yi said.
"It’s not that the gods didn’t expect it, but rather, Divine Status isn’t that important," the Divine Envoy said.
"Huh?" Long Yi was taken aback. Divine Status wasn’t important anymore? What else could be important then? He was puzzled.
"Of course, it’s Divine Consciousness," the Divine Envoy said, smiling.
"Divine Consciousness?" This was the second new term Long Yi heard today.
"Divine Soul, Divine Consciousness, Divine Status—these are the three components of a god. I only possess Divine Consciousness and Divine Status, so I can only be a Divine Envoy. But if I obtain a Divine Soul, then I can return to being a god," the Divine Envoy gestured toward the huge energy cell nearby.
"I still don’t get it. Divine Status is what generates Divine Power, shouldn’t it be the most important?" Long Yi asked.
"Divine Status is the qualification of a god, just like your qualification as a Dragon Knight. You can be a Dragon Knight, and so can others. But in this world, there is only one Long Yi. Thus, qualifications aren’t that important; even if lost, they can be regained. But Divine Consciousness is the consciousness of a god, that is where the essence of a god truly lies," the Divine Envoy explained.
"I an, sis, why didn’t you tell this knowledge sooner!" Long Yi howled.
"How could I have expected you to stir up so much trouble in this re Lower Plane? I thought you wouldn’t find out until you entered the Higher Plane and learned about the War of the Gods..."
"Wait a second! War of the Gods!?" Long Yi heard yet another new term, and it seed like an incredibly significant one.
"Er, what?" The Divine Envoy looked puzzled.
"You ntioned the War of the Gods, what is that?" Long Yi asked.
"No, I didn’t say that."
"You did."
"I didn’t."
"You really did."
"I really didn’t."
Long Yi stared at the Divine Envoy, and the Divine Envoy stared back at Long Yi, clearly determined to hold out to the end.
"Alright then, let’s change the subject, let’s talk about what this Divine Soul is all about," Long Yi quickly switched subjects, not knowing why the Divine Envoy refused to continue discussing the War of the Gods, but since she didn’t want to talk about it, he figured it’s best to respectfully switch topics.
