At this mont, the entire classroom was a ruin, half of it already collapsed.
"Boom!"
A huge tremor passed through, and the already unstable classroom began to sway precariously. Suolin hurriedly left, and just as she did, the classroom completely collapsed.
Then, Suolin saw the source of the tremors.
Up ahead, two Giants were fighting. One was covered in dark gold, while the other was entirely black. These two Giants were evenly matched in combat strength, neither gaining the upper hand. However, their struggle only lasted a few minutes before coming to a halt, all their limbs freezing mid-air. After a brief mont, they sprang into motion again, each landing a heavy punch on the other, and then both simultaneously fell down, motionless.
The two Giants continued this strange thod of battle, and Suolin furrowed her brow slightly, realizing the Giants must be Golems.
Suddenly, a dragon roar ca from nearby, as a Black Dragon and a White Dragon flew by side by side, with the White Dragon continuously blasting Dragon Breath behind. The power of this Dragon Breath was incredibly formidable, and Suolin was certain that the White Dragon must have been completely freed from its curse.
Behind the Black Dragon and the White Dragon, a group of wriggling strange substances were in hot pursuit. They resembled a swarm of flesh masses, surrounded by gaping maws and covered with tentacles. Their flying speed was extrely fast, so much so that even mbers of the Dragon Clan could not shake them off.
As they were about to be caught, runes of astonishing scale appeared all over the Black Dragon’s body, but due to insufficient Mana, the brightness of the runes was very faint.
Roar!
The Black Dragon spewed out a dense cloud of Dragon Breath, and the pursuing flesh masses that passed through the cloud imdiately screeched as they corroded, shrinking in size and even dropping chunks of flesh from the air.
But still, so of the flesh masses made it through the cloud and quickly caught up to the Black Dragon and the White Dragon.
"You’re faster, you go first! I’ll hold them off!" the Black Dragon roared loudly to the White Dragon.
"No! You can’t handle them! You’ll die! Let’s escape together!" the White Dragon shouted.
"You fool! For the sake of our children! You must survive! Go now! Get away!"
As it spoke, the body of the Black Dragon suddenly began to swell!
"No!"
"Go!"
The Black Dragon turned and charged directly at the pursuing flesh masses, while the White Dragon ultimately had no choice but to flee with all its might.
"Boom!"
As the Black Dragon self-detonated, it ford the most horrific corrosive cloud, enveloping all the pursuing flesh masses within it. The intense sounds of corrosion mingled with the screeching of the masses as the White Dragon could only close its eyes tight, shedding tears, and desperately charging forward. But its strength was clearly insufficient to support such explosive flight, and it soon fell to the ground.
And this was right in front of Suolin.
Suolin looked at the White Dragon in front of her and then at the cloud in the distance. She couldn’t just stand by.
"Are you alright?" Suolin approached the massive dragon’s head.
"My... my beloved..." the White Dragon struggled to open its eyes, but tried hard to look back.
"If you still have Mana, it would be best for you to shrink down now to make yourself a smaller target," Suolin said.
"No, no matter what form I take, they will find us, consu us. The Dragon Clan will be completely destroyed..." the White Dragon said sorrowfully.
"Although I don’t know what exactly has happened, since you’ve fallen in front of , I can’t just ignore you. But if you’ve already lost your will to survive, then there’s really nothing I can do," Suolin said.
"What difference does it make whether I live or die? Just..." the White Dragon struggled to take one more look back, exerting what little Mana it had left to transform into a woman in a white dress, her slightly bulging belly clearly indicating pregnancy. Suolin lifted her from the ground and the woman looked at Suolin in confusion: "Are you of the Dragon Clan? Weren’t you hunted down? Why are you still in such a dangerous place?"
The woman asked.
"My arrival here was entirely an accident, and the reasons are very complex. I think now is not the ti to explain such things, we should leave this place quickly. Right now, I need to know a few things: how those things track you, how we can evade their pursuit, and how we can destroy them," Suolin said.
Upon hearing Suolin’s earnest tone, the woman could only say, "These creatures are called Dragon-Eating Spores. They use various thods to locate mbers of the Dragon Clan. They have poor vision but are highly sensitive to scent; they can sense the Dragon Power of the Dragon Clan from afar, and they appear in large numbers once they do. There’s only one way to deal with them, and that’s to completely annihilate them, whether through corrosion, burning, or so other thod. In any case, you must not allow them to leave even a trace of cells, for if they touch even a speck of organic matter, they will imdiately take root and grow into this." the woman explained.
"This is going to be a bit ssy," Suolin said, flying away with the woman at high speed.
"Is there a suitable place we can go?" Suolin asked.
"Yes, to the Imperial City of the Red Dragon Empire. That’s the last stronghold of the Dragon Clan, it’s still sowhat safe there," the woman said.
"Good."
Suolin’s runes flickered all over her body, deploying Magic taught by Long Yi, shaking the sky as four blazing flas jetted from her back. Coupled with her native flying magic, Suolin quickly broke the sound barrier, thundering across the sky.
The woman looked at Suolin with astonishnt, as she had never seen such flight before. However, she soon realized she was safe and completely fainted.
Suolin looked down at the woman, her mind in turmoil. The areas she had flown over were almost all in ruins, without a single human or dragon in sight. She did encounter so Dragon Power spores along the way, which she sliced through at high speeds with a sonic barrier, but even so, a tiny piece of flesh had landed on Suolin’s arm. Suolin was surprised to see that even such a small piece of flesh could sprout nurous roots, trying to penetrate her skin. However, Suolin’s body was covered with dense Fine Gold, making it impossible for the flesh to succeed. Suolin opened her mouth and spewed out flas, and the piece of flesh let out a thin shriek. It took a full ten seconds before the small lump of flesh was completely burnt to ashes!
Such terrifying vitality!
Even Suolin felt a shiver of fear, knowing that it was only her Fine Gold protection that saved her. Had she not had it, she might have perished just now.
The next ti Suolin saw Dragon Power spores floating in the air, she imdiately turned to avoid them, because even if she was not in danger, the woman she was carrying might not be able to avoid them.
Soon, the Imperial City was within reach. From afar, Dragon Clan warriors were patrolling. Upon spotting the high-speed approaching Suolin, Long Yi Dragon Clan warriors imdiately beca alert, as a distinct spiritual fluctuation of the Dragon Clan was transmitted.
"Stay calm, I am one of you," Suolin sent out a similar spiritual fluctuation and at the sa ti slowed down. The other party truly felt the spiritual fluctuation of their kind and cald down, slowly approaching her.
"She is pregnant and has fainted from exhaustion, but she is still alive and needs so necessary checks."
A Dragon Clan warrior transford into human form, and Suolin handed over the woman to the warrior. Watching them leave, Suolin then asked the remaining Dragon Clan warriors, "Who is in charge here now? I need to see the responsible dragon or person in charge."
A Dragon Clan warrior promptly inford Suolin, "Currently, the highest authority of the Dragon Clan here is the Fairy Dragon Jelly Willow, and the highest human authority is Black Dragon Empire’s Crown Prince Yake Black."
The news was astonishing. Jelly Willow? Wasn’t she the wife of the Red Dragon Empire’s Pri Minister? And Crown Prince Yake Black of the Black Dragon Empire actually managed to rule over all humanity? But Suolin still temporarily suppressed her curiosity, she needed to find out what exactly had happened.
"Then, where can I find them?" Suolin asked.
"If nothing unexpected has happened, they should both be in that place," a Dragon Clan warrior said, pointing at a certain building of the Imperial Palace. At this ti, the highest building of the forr Imperial Palace had collapsed, and the place he pointed to was in the half-collapsed building.
Suolin nodded and turned to fly towards the Imperial Palace.
Then she saw many Dragon Clan mbers breathing within the Imperial City, and many humans were bustling about caring for the injured Dragon Clan. The dragons were expressing their thanks to the humans in a shy and embarrassed manner, while the thanked humans patted the injured dragons, indicating they shouldn’t worry about it.
What in the world had happened?
Reaching the outside of the collapsed building, Suolin found no defenses and easily entered. Then she imdiately saw Jelly Willow and Black Dragon Crown Prince Yake Black standing face to face across a sand table.
Neither had any changes in appearance.
"Suolin?" Jelly Willow asked almost with surprise in her voice.
"Suolin?" Yake looked at Suolin in confusion after glancing at Jelly Willow.
"Hello, do you know ?" Suolin asked Jelly Willow.
"Know you? I thought I would never see a companion from my own tiline again in this life!" Jelly Willow exclaid with delight.
"Oh, so it’s from your tiline, no wonder I don’t recognize her," Yake said with a smile.
"So, you’re a traveler as well?" Suolin asked in surprise.
"Yes, now that things have co to this, I must admit it," Jelly Willow said.
"So what’s with this world?" Suolin looked around as she asked.
"As you can see, this is a world in utter chaos. Practically all the people and dragons in the world are here. Humans and the Dragon Clan are united like never before, and all the Dragon Clan have had their curse lifted because of this unity. But facing that powerful enemy, even being relieved of the curse is useless, for the Giant’s rules suppress everything here, preventing anyone or dragon from running away, unless we can defeat the Demon King who is currently entrenched outside," Jelly Willow explained.
"The Demon King? Who is that?" Suolin was puzzled.
"The Demon King who could slaughter the humans and Dragon Clan of an entire planet to such a degree—who else do you think it could be?" Jelly Willow said helplessly.
"No way, could it be Long Yi?" Suolin’s eyes widened.
"Yes, it’s him," Jelly Willow confird.
"My God, what happened?" Suolin was truly horrified.
"This is a tiline that went down the wrong path; as a ti traveler, you should know that ti doesn’t flow in a straight line, just like a river, there are always branches. So branches form naturally, while others are ford under external influences. And this extrely chaotic tiline is influenced by Long Yi, for the specifics, let Yake tell you," Jelly Willow said.
Now appearing middle-aged, Yake looked full of regret.
"This is all my fault," Yake said. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, feel free to cast your recomndation votes and monthly tickets at Qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian to read.)
