The massive Worm let out a piercing laugh, and by now the golden snake had already firmly bound the God Chaser, with various pieces of information about it converging before Long Yi.
Having read about the origins of the God Chaser, Long Yi could only marvel at the endless wonders of the myriad worlds.
The God Chaser was actually a parasite residing within the spiritual world of a god!
Its birth was a re fluke, a mixture of inexplicable rules conglorating together, and under the influence of Divine Power, it ca into existence. But the mont it was born, it was expelled from the spiritual realm by the gods. With no other choice, it could only parasite within a living being created by a god. However, because it was born out of a god’s spiritual world, there was always an inexplicable spiritual connection between it and the gods. This connection made the parasite always seem to hear a calling as if from the gods. The parasite considered itself the true legacy of the gods, disdainfully looking down upon the Giants who self-proclaid as the god’s firstborn. It believed that only it had inherited everything from the god—after all, it was not created, but ’born’ from the spiritual world of a god.
But who knows how long had passed, the gods suddenly vanished, and the God Chaser could no longer hear the call from the gods. It felt lost and forlorn, then it began to assimilate its host, devouring his ntal power, desperately replicating and dividing itself, trying in this way to find traces of the gods. But the outco was cruel. The gods had completely disappeared, the avatars of the God Chaser spread across the entire multiverse, yet they never saw a trace of the gods.
In order to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of the gods, the various avatars of the God Chaser, controlling hosts across the multiverse, began a thorough investigation. However, they ca up empty-handed.
By then, the war between the Giants and the Dragon Clan had ended. The Giants’ curse that swept across all the universes made the God Chaser instinctively feel fear. Even gods, if they wanted to destroy all of the Dragon Clan across the multiverse, it would be easy. But to launch such a targeted curse would also deplete a vast amount of Divine Power. And yet, the Giants seed to casually launch the curse, then vanished without a trace.
What did that an?
It ant that the Giants appeared to be surpassing the gods!
As the God Chaser continued to investigate, various pieces of evidence led it to a shocking conclusion: ’The war that the Dragon Clan waged against the Giants was actually instigated by the gods!’
And so, self-proclaid as the true legacy of the gods, the God Chaser began to regard the Giants as its enemy. They decided that at all costs, they must completely exterminate the Giants—perhaps only then would the gods return.
As he browsed the information up to this point, Long Yi imdiately furrowed his brow. The content of the information was very general, without any details. Because this avatar of the God Chaser had suffered great damage while in the demon realm and lost much of its mory, Long Yi could not figure out the details. However, the conclusion from its mory was not drawn randomly; it firmly believed in this conclusion.
"The story within you is even more complex than I thought," said Long Yi.
The massive Worm twisted for a mont, transforming into the likeness of Solis, and scoffed disdainfully, "What do you understand about gods, mortal?"
Long Yi shook his head, "What if I told you, I am the very ’firstborn of the gods’ you speak of?"
The God Chaser was montarily startled, then his face contorted in fury, "Bastard! You are a Pioneer! No wonder you possess such formidable power! This explains everything!"
"Yes, I’ve told you my secret, now it’s your turn; do you have any interesting secrets to exchange with ?" Long Yi asked.
"Interesting secret? My interesting secret is that I will stop at nothing to destroy you!" The God Chaser tried to break free from the snake’s binding, attempting to detonate itself, but every ti it managed to gather so ntal power, the snake completely devoured that portion of ntal power.
"I still don’t understand, why do you think it was the gods who ordered the Dragon Clan to attack the Giants? I can’t find the answer in your information," Long Yi said.
"You don’t understand? Hahaha, the very Giants who thought they could beco gods also have things they do not understand? You really are not gods!" said the God Chaser weakly.
"Does a god know everything?"
"Gods are naturally omnipotent and omniscient!"
"So why did they disappear?"
"It was because of you Giants, of course!"
"What exactly did we Giants do?"
"..."
The God Chaser was convinced the Giants had done sothing, but because of the loss of mory, it also did not know what the Giants had actually done.
"This is rather troubleso, but if I can find another one of your avatars, I should be able to recover your mory, right?"
This wasn’t actually a question from Long Yi, as he had already arrived at that conclusion from the snake’s findings.
"I will never help you, shaless Giant. Given any chance, I will erase your spirit and then take over your body, control you to return to the Giant Clan, and then from the inside, I will completely destroy your entire Giant Clan!"
The God Chaser didn’t speak, but the information continued to co through the snake, and this was indeed what the God Chaser was thinking.
"Actually, I had no intention of using such thods; after all, a chat can help to promote understanding. But it seems that you are not willing to respond to my goodwill," Long Yi said with an indifferent smile.
"Try whatever ’goodwill’ you have. But you will never destroy , while I am already within your spirit. Just give a little chance, and I will..."
Before the God Chaser could finish speaking, Divine Status, accompanied by an overwhelming Divine Power, completely enveloped the area.
```
Golden light filled the entire space, as countless rules and runes rose from the ground in all directions.
"Is this... Divine Status?" The God Chaser’s body began to tremble violently. It no longer resembled Solis, but instead transford back into the gigantic worm. Then the worm slowly shrank until it was only the size of a finger.
This was the true form of the God Chaser, the Divine Worm.
Surprisingly, the blood-red color that covered the God Chaser began to fade away, and the rules within its body started to beco orderly. Amidst the flickering light, its body too began to emit a golden glow. It devoured so psychic energy, while a strand of Divine Power was released by it.
Devouring psychic energy, releasing Divine Power?
This certainly doesn’t seem like sothing a parasite should do, does it?
"So, can we have a proper talk now?" Long Yi asked in a low voice.
"Yes, my master, I will fully submit to your will!" the golden worm said with indescribable excitent and humility in its tone.
Clearly, its way of identifying a god was very simple. Divine Status and Divine Power; when one possessed these two things, it would acknowledge them as its master. Long Yi had thought he would have to waste so effort in persuasion, but unexpectedly, the worm was quite compliant.
Now things were becoming simple.
However, sadly, although he had won the loyalty of the God Chaser, he had not gained more information. This was because that information had been utterly lost. Unless he found more God Chasers to obtain their information to fill in the gaps in his own.
When Long Yi left the psychic world and his consciousness returned to his body, he saw Little Zi poking at Long Yi’s face out of boredom. When she saw Long Yi wake up, she was actually startled at first.
Behind him, Solis collapsed to the ground with a thump, as his spirit had completely vanished. At this mont, this body could only be said to be alive. Just like a computer whose data still exists internally, but whose operating system is gone.
"God Chaser, return to Solis’s body for now."
A streak of golden light imdiately shot out from Long Yi’s eyes, and Elder Solis stood up.
"Yes, master," Elder Solis said.
"Where is the key to the Teleportation Gate of the Plane?" Long Yi asked.
The controlled Solis imdiately opened his private space, and then a tal rune was taken out.
"Now we have two keys," Long Yi took the tal rune and placed it in his own private space.
"As for the third key..."
Long Yi glanced at Solis, who just shook his head in response.
"Well, let’s leave it to luck later?"
On Monunt Star, Long Yi had nothing else to do; the so-called knowledge didn’t exist here. And the matter with Solis had been properly resolved as well. Solis was now essentially the God Chaser, possessing all of Solis’s mories and even his behavioral habits without any difference. The difference lay in the fact that the current Solis was entirely obedient to Long Yi’s commands.
And the first thing this Solis told Long Yi was, "Be cautious of Elma; he is far from being as harmless as he appears."
Long Yi was sowhat surprised, as Elma had always made a good impression on him, even Little Zi hadn’t noticed any flaws. However, Solis told Long Yi that there was a huge secret in the Mage Tower, a secret that might be related to the existence of gods. This secret was held in Elma’s hands, and for countless years, Elma had never revealed it to anyone. And it was precisely because Solis accidentally stumbled upon this secret that he beca the person Elma initially trusted the most.
In fact, Elma had always been very healthy; his lifespan far exceeded everyone else’s in the Ancient Mage Tower. Solis believed it was because of that secret that Elma was able to have such a prolonged life. But one day, his health began to decline. As Solis, who was once Elma’s confidant, understood from Elma’s few words, Elma had made a mistake while researching the secret, causing what should have been life-extending to lose effect.
"If that’s all there is to it, it seems we have no conflict," Long Yi said, not thinking it had anything to do with him. After all, now that the God Chaser’s problem was solved and the keys were obtained, he was about to leave; nothing was a problem anymore.
"The key you asked for is to open the Teleportation Gate of the Divine Auffa Empire’s Plane," Solis said.
"Yes," Long Yi nodded in confirmation.
"Who told you that this key was in Solis’s possession?"
"Of course, it was Elma."
"Then, did he ever tell you that the third key is actually in his own hands?"
When Long Yi heard this, his eyes widened instantly. Elma had once said that one of the three keys was in the hands of Emperor Saint Jialin of the Divine Auffa Empire, one was with Solis, and he had forgotten who had the other one. But now, the absolutely loyal God Chaser told Long Yi that the third key was actually in Elma’s hands!
