"I miss my mom and dad..."
Chloe Grant murmured.
She’s not very old, and her mind isn’t mature. Like a typical child, when she feels hurt and upset, she longs for her parents to be by her side.
"Want to call them?" Matthew Morgan offered as he opened a bag of snacks, took sothing out, and brought it to her lips.
"No, I better not..." Chloe Grant shook her head.
Her dad had just reprimanded her earlier, probably still angry at the mont.
Plus, during the previous call, Chloe Grant kept hearing soone calling her dad, which probably ans he’s busy, and calling now would be during his busy ti.
Better... just forget it.
"Hmm."
Matthew Morgan saw she wasn’t eating and was about to put the snacks away, but who would have thought—
"Weren’t you just putting sothing in my mouth? I want to eat!"
Chloe Grant accurately grabbed Matthew Morgan’s wrist to stop him from putting the snacks away.
She licked her lips, looking quite greedy.
"I... am hungry," she explained.
Matthew Morgan chuckled.
Indeed, the allure of food for her was greater than anything else.
"Okay, I’ll feed you."
With that, he took a snack from the package, brought it to Chloe Grant’s lips, and Chloe opened her mouth to eat, her soft lips brushing against Matthew Morgan’s fingers, sending a jolt through his heart.
Matthew Morgan furrowed his brow, his eyes growing a bit deeper...
Chloe Grant couldn’t see or sense the man’s change, only feeling that each ti he fed her, she ended up eating his hand.
She didn’t mind it being dirty.
Both Lucas Morgan and Matthew Morgan had a thing for cleanliness; their hands were cleaner than her mouth.

Is he really not Lucas?
Chloe Grant began to doubt, after all, Uncle Morgan wasn’t likely to be so gentle.
He was such a stern person, most authoritative and impatient, how could he be like this now, coaxing her and feeding her favorite snacks...

Chloe Grant suddenly felt a pang of discomfort, even losing her appetite for food.
"I don’t want to eat anymore..." she said quietly, pushing the food away.
Matthew Morgan frowned, "Why?"
As soon as he spoke, his voice was particularly hoarse.
It really is Lucas...
Matthew Morgan and Lucas Morgan’s voices were very similar, the only difference being that Matthew’s was deeper while Lucas’s was slightly hoarse, and hearing this now...
"You really are Lucas!" Chloe Grant exclaid as if uncovering the truth.
Matthew Morgan’s expression turned even stiffer, "I’m not."
Being constantly mistaken for Lucas by her wasn’t pleasant for Matthew Morgan.
"Mr. Morgan, thank you, but you should go. I want to rest by myself."
Thinking it was Lucas, Chloe Grant imdiately acted distant, lying on the bed, closing her eyes, pretending to sleep.
If it were before, knowing Lucas was taking care of her, Chloe Grant would have been overjoyed.
But alas...
These days are not as they used to be.
The current Chloe Grant is one who intends to give up on Lucas.
The current Lucas is one wholeheartedly supporting his girlfriend.
Matthew Morgan looked down at the snack in his hand, now unsure whether to be angry or slightly pleased.
This was the first ti Chloe had been so dismissive of Lucas.
In his heart, there was still a slight discomfort.
After a mont of silence, Matthew Morgan adjusted his emotions and spoke again, "I’m not Lucas."
