Jodie Cooper knew she couldn’t do it, but didn’t discourage her. Instead, she used a tissue to wipe her tears, "I believe you will make it."
Chloe Grant sniffled.
She sat quietly by herself, not wanting to drink anymore.
After a while, Chloe suddenly spoke, "Do you think... what I’m doing is very wrong?"
"What is it?" Jodie asked.
"Because I know Matthew Morgan is getting married, I stubbornly wanted to do it before him, to force him to give his blessings. As a result... my parents have stopped caring about ... Jodie... am I wrong?"
This was the first ti Chloe brought up this topic.
Ever since she and Jacob Lee decided to get married, her father was initially furious, then said he would co back, but ultimately, he didn’t return and didn’t contact Chloe at all.
During this ti, Chloe never ntioned her parents, this was the first ti.
And her tone was very sad.
She wasn’t indifferent, nor was she nonchalant, rather... she was just hiding it, not saying it.
"You are of legal age, getting married is the right thing to do!" Benjamin Grant directly answered, with a sowhat angry tone, "As a father, not coming back for his daughter’s wedding and not caring at all, that’s his mistake!"
Chloe raised her head to look at Benjamin, her eyes showing a bit of grievance, making Benjamin feel unbearable.
He hurriedly said, "Don’t worry, your father will co back! At the very least, he will have to attend your wedding!"
Jodie looked at Benjamin, then turned back to look at Chloe...
She made no comnt on the matter.
"He won’t..." Chloe shook her head, smiling bitterly, "Mom said, Dad’s whole focus is on that child of his.
Do you know, my mom told , that so-called half-brother of mine is only five years younger than !
Do you know what that ans?"
Chloe suddenly beca agitated, "When I was seven or eight, my parents divorced! This ans, my dad cheated, had a child with that woman, and that’s when my mom found out and divorced!
That so-called brother of mine, is the child of the mistress!"
When Chloe said the last sentence, she was especially resentful!
That kind of gritted-teeth hate!
Benjamin, who was about to speak, was suddenly dumbfounded...
Jodie glanced at him, then turned back to look at Chloe, "Chloe, don’t get too agitated, maybe..."
"There’s no maybe! If it weren’t for that mistress, for that child, my parents wouldn’t have divorced!
I once called my mom to talk about this, and she told personally, she knew Dad cheated, but she could forgive him once. She said that Dad had already promised not to have any ties with the mistress and would return to the family.
But..."
Chloe shook her head, sneering, "But then... the mistress got pregnant! And abroad they found out it was a boy, a boy...
For a dad who always wanted a son, and for a mom who couldn’t have more children... what do you think the birth of this boy represented?"
Chloe, speaking of her pain, stood up abruptly, "It represented that this person’s birth completely destroyed our family!"
As Chloe shouted, the empty wine bottle in Benjamin’s hand fell to the ground.
He didn’t even pick it up, just stared blankly at Chloe...
Jodie glanced at Benjamin, then turned, wanting to comfort Chloe, but the latter sat down by herself and laughed, "Actually, sotis I feel it’s not related to that person at all. The fault lies with my dad and that woman!"
