"What do you an by this?"

Chloe Grant didn’t understand.

Jacob Lee turned around, his body slumping onto the sofa, and with a bitter smile, after a mont, he spoke a na, "Thea Yates."

Chloe Grant was taken aback.

Jacob Lee opened the sunroof of the car, staring at the endless sky, "You’ve always said I am a very gentlemanly person.

But actually... I used to be not gentlemanly at all."

"I didn’t know that when dining, I should pull out a chair for a girl. I also didn’t know that when riding an elevator, I should press the door open when soone enters.

I certainly didn’t know that during a semi-buffet, I should proactively pour drinks for the girl.

Of course, things like opening car doors for girls, escorting them across the street, etc., I never knew before.

I even used to think it was fine to ignore my girlfriend’s friends, like why bother having als with them or sending them ho, it felt like a waste of ti.

But ah..."

He seed to start reminiscing, with a bitter smile at the corner of his mouth, "But ah, every ti I only cared about getting out of the car myself, she would scold and ask to open the door for her.

When having als with her friends, she would kick to ask to pull out chairs for her friends, pour drinks, serve the soup, and even make send her friends ho first.

Over ti, I just got used to it."

While Jacob Lee spoke, he covered his eyes with his hand, still with a bitter smile on his lips.

Chloe Grant quietly listened.

She knew the "she" Jacob Lee referred to was Thea Yates.

Thus, it explained why Thea Yates reacted so strongly upon hearing Jacob Lee’s words.

Because he was soone she had once deeply loved.

If she hadn’t loved him, she wouldn’t have guided Jacob Lee and taught him so much.

Precisely because of love, wanting to walk a lifeti together, that’s why she cared so much.

"And then?"

Chloe Grant wasn’t soone who liked to pry into other people’s stories, but she couldn’t help but ask, "What happened between you two afterward?"

"We broke up." Jacob Lee lowered his hand.

When he turned to look at Chloe Grant, Chloe noticed his eyes were red.

He had cried.

In Chloe Grant’s understanding, Jacob Lee was a very gentlemanly and masculine man, the word "tears" shouldn’t belong to him.

Yet she still saw it.

At that mont, Chloe Grant didn’t know how to describe how she felt, overwheld with mixed emotions, perhaps.

"Later on, she said she was tired, she didn’t want to be with anymore, so she left .

She was the one who didn’t want ..."

As he spoke, his body naturally leaned towards Chloe Grant, finally burying his head into Chloe’s shoulder.

He was crying.

Like a helpless child.

More like an abandoned child, lost and heartbroken.

"We promised each other. That no one would be abandoned, we promised to spend our whole lives together.

But she broke her promise, she didn’t want anymore.

Chloe, she didn’t want anymore..."

He was so devastated that Chloe Grant couldn’t bear to push him away.

In the end, Chloe Grant softened, reaching out to pat Jacob Lee’s shoulder in comfort, "It’s okay, it’s okay."

She gently comforted him.

At this mont, that’s all she could say.

"She didn’t want anymore, she was the first to give up on our relationship..."

Give up...

Those simple two words, yet they struck Chloe Grant’s tear ducts, making her eyes well up instantly.

"He also gave up on ..."

Chloe Grant murmured to herself, "He was the first to give up on , and on the relationship between us..."
