Molly Polis sent Chloe Grant a picture of a pair of shoes, from the sa brand, and Chloe showed it to the store clerk. There happened to be one pair left, and it was just in Chloe’s size.

Everything fell into place perfectly.

When it ca ti to pay, Chloe Grant nudged Ralph Koch towards the counter with her foot, "Pay up."

In the past two years, she’s grown extrely familiar with Ralph Koch.

The biggest skill Chloe Grant has learned is how to take advantage of Ralph Koch.

"Why ? Isn’t your Uncle Morgan here?" Ralph pointed at Matthew Morgan, who was sitting on the sofa.

By then, Matthew had already stood up.

He lifted his coat and took out a black wallet from inside.

Seeing that wallet, Chloe felt a twinge in her heart.

It was the first ti he accompanied her shopping as her boyfriend, the one she picked for him, and she paid for it.

It was all of Chloe Grant’s internship salary and bonus.

Also, it was the first gift Chloe ever gave him.

Chloe started feeling sour and uncomfortable, she quickly turned her gaze away and muttered to Ralph, "Why call him, I can handle it myself."

With that, she was about to reach into her pocket for her wallet.

Ralph stopped her, "With two n here, you’d pay yourself? Are you trying to sha or your Uncle Morgan?"

Ralph whispered this right in Chloe’s ear.

anwhile, Matthew Morgan had already walked over to the counter and swiped his card without hesitation.

Chloe struggled a bit, "It’s not necessary..."

"That’s your Uncle Morgan. What’s wrong with him buying sothing for you? If you don’t believe , ask Auntie Gray, would this be inappropriate?

Your awkwardness... actually ans you still have feelings for him, right? Or..."

"No!" Chloe quickly denied, "If my Uncle Morgan pays, that’s fine. I didn’t say anything. You hold the bag for , I need to use the restroom."

After saying that, Chloe practically ran away.

Ralph chuckled, the lines at the corners of his mouth were particularly clear, making his smile look pure and untainted.

He tilted his head, leaned towards Matthew Morgan, "She’s so guilty. Every ti this tactic works like a charm, don’t you think this girl is just so amusing?"

Ralph said this proudly, while Matthew gave him a direct sweeping look, making him instantly behave.

Matthew took Chloe’s things and turned around to leave.

He didn’t go far, but stood by the railing.

There was a place to sit just around the corner, Ralph suggested, "Let’s wait there, it’s troubleso for girls to use the restroom."

Matthew was unmoved.

Ralph didn’t explain, just stood next to him, "Even if you don’t want to sit, this isn’t a good spot. So many people passing by, quite a few girls’ eyes light up when they see you, look, the one coming out of the restroom almost walked into a wall after seeing you."

"She doesn’t know the way." Matthew explained simply, "The mall is so winding, she gets dizzy when she gets turned around."

Ralph hadn’t understood initially, but with Matthew’s casual comnt, he suddenly got it.

He realized that Matthew, usually not fond of attracting too much attention, would stand here and tolerate the gaze of those passing girls.

So that’s it...

Just then, Chloe Grant erged from the restroom.

With a bewildered look, the typical expression of soone with no sense of direction, undecided whether to go left or right. Yet, when she looked up and saw Matthew standing there, she imdiately walked over.

Like a lighthouse at sea.
