Chloe Grant was puzzled and couldn’t help but ask, "Grandma, is sothing wrong?"
"Were you with George Stern all day yesterday? Did you guys have any conversation, or did sothing unpleasant happen?" Isabella Gray asked, her expression still quite serious.
Unpleasant?
A quarrel lost?
Of course, Chloe Grant wouldn’t admit it. She shook her head earnestly, "No, we didn’t have any unpleasant incidents."
"Really not?" Isabella Gray looked at Chloe Grant with so suspicion.
The latter decisively shook her head, "No."
"Then that’s strange..."
"What’s wrong?" Chloe Grant asked in confusion.
Isabella Gray looked at her, sowhat hesitant, and after a mont, she said, "George brought a young girl over for dinner today."
As Isabella Gray spoke, she kept glancing at Chloe Grant, evidently apprehensive about Chloe’s reaction, worried she might have so thoughts.
"Oh." Chloe Grant’s response was very calm.
Isabella Gray was taken aback, not reacting for a mont.
Clearly, Chloe Grant’s calm reaction surprised her.
"You don’t have any thoughts?" Isabella Gray couldn’t help but ask, then muttered, "I thought you two got along pretty well yesterday..."
Chloe Grant was stunned, only rembering now that Isabella Gray’s arrangent yesterday was to try and match her with George.
Chloe Grant hurriedly smiled and said, "She told about it yesterday, I think we’re better suited as friends."
"I think you two are a perfect match, youth and vitality." Isabella Gray was clearly unhappy.
The Stern family and the Morgan family have always had a good relationship, and she practically watched George grow up.
Although George still had a playful side, he was a really decent person; after a few years of settling down, he’d make a great husband choice.
Seeing George bring over his girlfriend today made Isabella Gray feel quite hopeless.
"I like mature ones." Chloe Grant said with a smile, then held Isabella’s hand, "Grandma, I’m still young, there’s no rush."
"I’m afraid you won’t worry until it’s too late, and all the good ones are picked by others. You don’t know how clear the girls these days are about what they want, they’re quick and strong, and while you’re dilly-dallying, all the good ones are gone." Isabella Gray sighed heavily, "I also liked Michael, but he and Matthew had no fate, as soon as they started getting along, Loren’s mother ca back."
Chloe Grant hadn’t paid attention before, but she was stunned upon hearing the last part, "What?"
"Loren’s mother?"
"Yes, she ca back by plane this afternoon. Matthew took her ho. Loren was so happy to see his mom, laughing and crying, you can’t imagine how thrilled he was!"
"Loren’s mom?"
Chloe Grant felt a bit dazed.
She had always been curious about Cloudy’s mother, and she’d asked Matthew Morgan many tis about her, but Matthew was always tight-lipped.
Unexpectedly, Chloe Grant never thought she’d appear like this.
"Did Uncle Morgan co with her this afternoon?" Chloe asked in a daze.
"Yeah," Isabella Gray replied, "He said they’d be staying here for a while, asked to take good care of them."
So...
When Matthew told her he was going on a business trip in the afternoon, he was actually bringing Loren’s mother over.
So...
He lied to her?
No, to be precise, he didn’t plan on telling her...
