Lucas Morgan looked at Matthew Morgan with an expression as if he had seen a ghost.

He thought that such words couldn’t possibly co out of Matthew Morgan’s mouth.

Not only was Lucas surprised, but Chloe Grant was also surprised.

Chloe was actually quite nervous about cutting her long hair this short and going for a slightly rebellious style.

After all, at the mont she cut her hair, it was a spur-of-the-mont decision, driven by sadness, wanting to cut off her feelings for Lucas just like cutting off her long hair.

Now that she was back, hearing Lucas’s sarcastic comnt, Chloe’s first reaction was actually regret.

But hearing Matthew’s affirmation, Chloe felt a glimr of hope or rather quite pleased.

Chloe mainly knew that Matthew was a cold person who hardly spoke, let alone say hypocritical or comforting words.

When he says it’s good, it really is good.

Getting such affirmation, she felt quite comforted.

"Seriously, bro, is there sothing wrong with your taste?" Lucas couldn’t help but tease.

Matthew shot him a look, and Lucas imdiately shut up.

Matthew raised his hand and glanced at the watch on his wrist, "It’s ti to eat."

After saying that, he lifted his gaze, his eyes locked on Lucas.

Lucas, who was still brooding over Chloe’s hair, suddenly felt uneasy being stared at by his own brother and then turned to find Chloe looking at him in exactly the sa way.

Lucas: ...

He quietly began retreating, holding up his hands, "I just rembered, I have sothing to do later, I think I..."

He couldn’t even finish his sentence before Matthew pointed in the direction of the villa.

The ssage was simple: Quickly, get in there and cook.

Lucas: ...

Sotis, he really wondered whether he and Matthew were actually related by blood.

No!

To be precise, he wondered if Matthew was even human.

Such a strong aura, a single look could create a sense of oppression and fear.

Lucas sighed helplessly and resignedly nodded, "Fine, fine, I’ll cook."

After saying that, he turned and glared at Chloe, who was giggling on the side, "Happy now? Got soone to back you up, huh?"

Chloe shrugged her shoulders smugly, even making a face at Lucas.

Lucas tapped her on the head, "You little brat."

Scolding her, he didn’t give Chloe a chance to retaliate, directly pushed her head, and firmly took a step forward into the house.

"You jerk!" Chloe cursed in displeasure.

Turning her head, she accidentally locked eyes with Matthew standing beside her, and instantly she restrained her emotions, standing obediently, visibly nervous and slightly fearful.

Just like facing an authoritative elder.

Matthew squinted his eyes, slightly furrowing his brows, but said nothing and walked straight into the house.

Chloe lowered her head and hurried to follow.

...

The dinner that night was neither good nor bad, just like before, yet sohow different.

Lucas had always loved learning culinary skills since childhood, so he always took charge of the three als a day for the three of them, not hiring a chef.

Before Matthew went abroad, when the three of them dined together, it was always Chloe and Lucas bickering and making a fuss, while Matthew ate in silence.

If Chloe and Lucas went too far, Matthew just needed to give them a look, and the two would quiet down.

But within seconds, they’d secretly start again, and the noise would grow louder.

Matthew’s cold gaze would sweep over, and they’d instantly go silent.

And this cycle repeated over and over.

Today’s atmosphere felt both familiar and different purely because...
