"Okay."

Chloe Grant responded readily. Right now, she didn’t want to think about anything, just wanted to regain her vision as soon as possible.

Only then could she go see Uncle Morgan.

Lucas squatted down and helped Chloe Grant take off her shoes, then assisted her to lie down, covered her with a blanket, and adjusted the room’s air conditioning.

After making sure Chloe Grant was asleep, Lucas left his room.

When he reached the villa entrance, he found Matthew Morgan still there.

He was leaning against the pillar at the door, head down, silently smoking.

Lucas didn’t know if it was just his illusion, but he always felt that Matthew Morgan exuded a sense of decadence and loneliness.

This was completely different from the Matthew Morgan of the past.

"Brother." Lucas walked over.

Matthew Morgan looked up at him for a mont, then looked down again and responded, "Hmm."

His voice was hoarse and low.

"Brother, Chloe..."

"Is the matter settled?"

Lucas and Matthew Morgan spoke almost simultaneously.

Matthew Morgan looked up and t Lucas’s gaze, waiting for his answer.

He knew what Matthew was referring to—it was about Lily Grant.

"Almost." He replied.

Matthew Morgan frowned, tossed away the cigarette butt, and stomped it out. "Don’t give such nonsense. If it’s not settled, take care of it properly and don’t leave any entanglents."

As he spoke, wisps of smoke drifted out of his mouth.

He looked up, "I’ll give you two days to deal with Lily Grant thoroughly. Otherwise, I’ll handle it myself."

Saying this, he turned and left directly.

Lucas was a bit dumbfounded. He looked down at the spot where Matthew had just been squatting; it was littered with cigarette butts, obviously he had been there for a long ti.

And had he waited there so long just to say this?

Lucas felt like he was starting not to understand Matthew Morgan.

No...

He had never truly understood him.

...

Two days later.

Chloe Grant stayed ho for two days, feeling anxious, but she forced herself to stay calm, eating and applying eye drops on schedule. It was only in the morning of the third day that her sight returned.

"Can you see?" Lucas had just entered the room and saw her looking around.

Her eyes sparkled, completely different from when she couldn’t see.

Chloe Grant happily nodded, "Yes, I can see."

She quickly jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to freshen up.

Finally... she could go find Uncle Morgan.

"I’ll go prepare breakfast for you; co down to eat after you’re ready."

Seeing her regaining her sight lightened Lucas’s mood, and he couldn’t help but curl up his lips and whistle as he went downstairs to the kitchen.

After washing up, Chloe Grant applied so light makeup and picked her favorite dress.

Her mood was quite jubilant.

Where would Uncle Morgan be at this ti?

In the office?

In the villa at the front?

Or maybe at the old house?

Chloe Grant thought of Matthew Morgan, his na bringing a smile to her lips, but then...

"What if he’s gone on a business trip?"

Chloe Grant’s smile instantly faded.

Matthew Morgan was a busy man who traveled frequently, several tis each month.

If he was indeed on a business trip now, that would be unfortunate.

"Lucas, this child is yours!"

Chloe Grant was deep in thought when a loud voice erupted from downstairs.

This voice...

Chloe Grant frowned—it was Lily Grant’s.

She picked up her phone, stepped out of the room, and stood on the second-floor corridor, and she could see Lily Grant holding her abdon in the living room.

She was holding a piece of paper, "This report was done with Aunt present, so I absolutely couldn’t manipulate it!

Lucas, this child is yours!"
