Chloe Grant tried to easily recall that scene, the one where soone was peeling a fruit for her...
Strangely, sotis it was Matthew Morgan, sotis it was Lucas, which made her feel confused.
Many tis, a pair of eyes, deep and intense, lingered in her heart.
But she couldn’t tell them apart.
Since she had been recuperating these past months, Chloe Grant was in a very quiet mood.
She was just trapped in these chaotic mories, unable to recover.
Chloe Grant could feel that during her mory loss, she seed quite happy, many many happy yet blurred images. If she rembered a bit of them, that happy feeling would always linger in her heart for an entire day.
"Knock Knock."
The crisp sound of knocking interrupted Chloe Grant’s thoughts.
She suddenly ca back to her senses and looked towards the door; Lucas had already pushed the door open and walked in.
Lucas flashed her a smile.
Chloe Grant moved her lips, trying to smile, but found she couldn’t at all. In the end, she gave up and lowered her head.
Lucas ca over, pulled a chair, and sat in front of Chloe Grant.
He pressed his lips together, and then licked his naturally pale lips.
Lowered his head, then raised it to look at Chloe Grant, then lowered it again... constantly repeating.
Neither of them spoke, just sitting in silence, and the atmosphere was tangibly awkward.
It was unclear how much ti passed, but after Lucas looked at Chloe Grant for the Nth ti and then lowered his head again, he finally spoke, "Chloe..."
It was a very soft call, more like a whisper.
But after he called out, he said nothing more.
Chloe Grant, with her head lowered, still didn’t respond, playing with the wig.
This wig was waist-length, very long, and had extrely good quality hair.
Ever since she learned Lucas Morgan and Lily Grant were together, Chloe Grant had cut her waist-length hair; this was her first long hair since then.
Chloe Grant realized that she still liked her long hair.
"Chloe, I..."
Lucas tried to speak again, but when he looked up at Chloe Grant, so words just couldn’t co out.
"Enough."
It seed like she finally couldn’t bear to watch, or couldn’t bear to see Lucas in such a predicant.
Chloe Grant looked up, with a smile on her lips, "I rember your request... so... I won’t do anything to break my promise. You don’t have to worry."
"That’s not what I ant." Lucas frowned, "You’ve misunderstood , Chloe. Actually, I wanted to say..."
"Whether I’ve misunderstood you or not doesn’t really matter, does it?" Chloe Grant smiled bitterly and shook her head, "From the mont you made that request, from the mont I agreed, there was no longer any emotion between us.
Mr. Morgan, in my heart, you’re no longer my uncle. Because... you’re not worthy."
Chloe Grant looked up and stared at him, with a bitter smile on her lips, but despair in her eyes.
Lucas frowned, "Chloe..."
There was reluctance in his eyes, along with a myriad of pain, but he couldn’t say anything more. In the end, there were only two words, "Chloe..."
Chloe Grant raised her head, forcibly holding back tears, doing her best to smile.
"My mory is weak and confused right now. I’ve been wondering, during my mory loss, what role did you play?
I asked Grandma, what happened during the ti of my mory loss? But Grandma only gave one answer, it was all in the past, and anyway, that wasn’t you, so don’t pursue it."
But...
"When I can’t rember, my heart feels both empty and painful, as if sothing is missing."
