"Uncle Morgan."

Chloe Grant spoke again, and this ti after quite a while, she vaguely said, "Being willful cos with consequences."

The mistake she made, she had to bear the consequences.

Even though it hurt a lot.

Matthew Morgan didn't express any opinion, nor did he ask about the whole matter.

He just reached out and patted Chloe Grant's head, "It's okay, Uncle Morgan's here."

Such a simple sentence, yet it instantly made Chloe Grant burst into laughter.

She turned around, her eyes glistening with tears, shimring, yet she tried hard to maintain a smile, "I know, the Morgan family has always been my support.

Actually, I'm a lucky one."

Although she was the only daughter in the family, her parents, busy with their work abroad, rarely checked on her, leaving her to her grandparents. Apart from providing living expenses and video calling regularly, there was nothing more.

Later, Chloe Grant had Grandma Gray and Mr. Morgan, who both loved her dearly, making Chloe truly understand the feeling of being genuinely cherished.

"Mm." Matthew Morgan responded simply, withdrew his hand from Chloe Grant's head, and took a tissue from her bag, handing it to her.

Chloe Grant took it, pulled out a sheet, and wiped her tears.

She took a deep breath, shrugged, and tried her best to smile.

Matthew Morgan looked at her and suddenly said, "The pond's moon reflects the sky's moon."

Chloe Grant froze, turned back oddly, and instinctively said, "I know this saying. The original is, 'The underwater moon is the sky's moon; the person before you is the one in your heart.'

As soon as she said it, the atmosphere suddenly changed.

With her mouth slightly open, she obviously felt the atmosphere was a bit awkward.

Chloe Grant also realized that this line wasn't suitable to say between her and Matthew Morgan.

"Uh..."

Chloe Grant's expression was a bit stiff.

Matthew Morgan had already shifted his gaze, stood up, put both hands in his pockets, "It's late, let's go back."

He turned around and started walking ahead.

Chloe Grant was stunned for a mont, then quickly followed.

She also breathed a sigh of relief inside.

Actually, it's nothing. Even though there are so things that can't be said casually with Matthew Morgan, he wouldn't pay attention or overthink such ambiguous words.

Of course, she wouldn't overthink either.

...

Chloe Grant played at the holiday resort for two days before returning with Matthew Morgan.

As soon as Matthew Morgan dropped Chloe Grant at the old house, his phone started ringing.

It was from the company and had been ringing many tis along the way.

Matthew Morgan hung up the call and was about to speak when Julia took the luggage and respectfully said to him, "Young Master, the elder and madam have gone to City A to see an art exhibition and will be back tomorrow."

Which ans no one was ho.

Matthew Morgan looked down at Chloe Grant standing beside him, then offered her a ride, "Do you want to go back to the villa, or co with to the company?"

Eh?

"I can go ho by myself." Chloe Grant decisively chose.

Although she had been with Matthew Morgan for the past two days, his aura was too strong, making Chloe always feel restrained and timid, yearning to be on her own and free.

"Okay, I'll take you back." Matthew Morgan nodded, allowing Chloe Grant to get inside the car, hardly giving her a chance to utter the words "I can take another car ho by myself."

After dropping Chloe Grant back at the villa, Matthew Morgan watched her enter the house before letting the driver drive away.

All the lights in Chloe Grant's house were sensor-activated and imdiately lit up as soon as she arrived, bright enough to let her see everything clearly.

Returning to her room, Chloe Grant lay down, holding her powered-off phone.

She hesitated for a mont, but finally turned it on.

As soon as it turned on, a flood of ssages ca in.

Most were from WeChat, sent by Lily Grant and Lucas Morgan...
