"I know you’re by my side, and you should know, I’ve always rembered you being here."
It was a feeling, an indescribable closeness, that made Lucas very uncomfortable.
"Just sothing ca up. I have to stay with him lately. Moreover..." Chloe paused before saying, "You were the one who abandoned first..."
The last sentence was said lightly, but Lucas heard it.
His expression suddenly froze.
"I... how did I abandon you? I..."
Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang, interrupting the conversation.
Lucas frowned, took the phone out of his pocket, and when he saw the caller ID, his frown deepened, and he decisively hung up.
Because when he took the phone out, he held it low, and Chloe happened to turn around and saw the caller ID: Lily.
It was a call from Lily, but Lucas hung up.
Chloe was quite surprised.

After that, Chloe kept her head down, scrolling through her phone, while Lucas leaned back on the sofa, glaring at her as if trying to bore holes into her.
Chloe acted as if she didn’t see him, continuing to scroll, though in reality, she wasn’t really focused.
Luckily, Matthew Morgan wasn’t gone for long and soon returned.
For the first ti, Chloe realized... Matthew could also be her savior.
"Co over." Matthew glanced at Lucas, then walked over to the desk.
Though unwilling, Lucas left the sofa and headed to the desk, where he and Matthew discussed ga-related matters.
During this ti, Lucas’s phone kept ringing, but he kept hanging up.
Chloe sneaked a glance and instinctively thought they were calls from Lily, yet Lucas’s attitude remained cold.

At six o’clock in the evening, it was ti for Matthew to get off work.
The secretary was still bringing him docunts and reporting work situations.
"Let’s talk about it tomorrow." Matthew grabbed his coat, asking Chloe to pack up and head ho.

Usually, the CEO wouldn’t leave before seven.
The secretary seed to want to say sothing but, seeing Chloe, seed to understand sothing and ended up saying nothing, closing the file, "Alright, I understand, President."
Matthew took Chloe’s hand, leading her out of the office. They had dinner outside before he took her ho.
"Don’t go out, I have to handle sothing, and I’ll be back soon." Matthew advised.
Chloe initially looked a bit down, but upon hearing Matthew’s words, her eyes imdiately brightened!
But feeling it was too obvious, she quickly lowered her head, hiding her excitent.
Matthew tapped her head, "Don’t just play gas, also listen for any sounds from outside. If there’s a problem, call imdiately, got it?"
