After the banquet incident, Isabella Gray had soone investigate the past relationship between Lily Grant and Ethan Woods.

It was even less respectable than she had imagined.

Isabella didn’t particularly like Lily from the start, and the only reason she changed her opinion was because Lily had saved her in that car accident.

With that in mind, she found that the more she got to know Lily, the more she found her quite likable, though a bit cunning.

However, after the banquet incident, Isabella started to ponder seriously.

The more she thought, the more uncomfortable it felt...

She didn’t say much about Lily, but simply ntioned to Lucas Morgan, "This girl is not suitable. Dating is fine, but marriage is not."

"Aunt," Lily called out politely, leaning slightly against Lucas.

Lucas glanced at her, nodded at Alex Grant, then said, "Mom, I have sothing to tell you."

"It’s dinner ti; let’s talk later."

It was obvious it was about Lily, and Isabella didn’t really want to hear it.

Smiling, she said to Alex Grant and Vann Stern, "I’ve arranged a room upstairs for you. Go rest first and co down for dinner later."

"As for..."

She glanced at Chloe Grant, "About Chloe going abroad, I think we, as elders, need to discuss it."

In terms of affection and reason, Isabella actually had no right to interfere with Chloe’s decision.

But over so many years, Chloe had always been her little darling.

Until Chloe made it absolutely clear, Isabella wouldn’t just let her go.

"Chloe, are you going abroad?" Lucas was surprised and looked over at Chloe. "At this ti, if you go, how will you catch up on your studies when you co back?"

"I plan to study over there," Chloe replied, avoiding eye contact with Lucas.

She feared that if she looked at him, she wouldn’t be able to control herself.

Just one more glance at him was tied to countless emotional entanglents.

"Study over there?" Lucas was shocked. "What are you thinking?"

His tone wasn’t pleasant because he was both shocked and angry at Chloe’s decision.

If Chloe had said she was going to study in the U.S. or Australia, Lucas would have thought she was diligent and eager to learn.

But Country A was not an ideal place for studying!

"Chloe, why do you suddenly want to go abroad?" Lily expressed her surprise too.

"Does the family know about it?"

"I want to be with my parents," Chloe said. This reason was sufficient.

"Why didn’t you ntion it a few days ago and only say it now? And what about your previous grand plans? You said you wanted to beco a nationally renowned relationship broadcaster. Was that just talk?"

Lucas’s tone was sowhat harsh, mainly because hearing Chloe say she was going abroad ant she was giving up on these dreams, and he was very upset about it.

Since the age of twelve, Chloe had always been listening to FM, and she loved many late-night stories.

More than once she had spoken to him excitedly about her future plans.

"Did sothing happen that makes you want to escape?" Lucas pressed.

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat.

Why did everyone ask her this question when they learned she wanted to go abroad?

Could it be that her emotions were so apparent that everyone could see through them?

"No, I didn’t!" Chloe denied directly.

"Look at how guilty you appear. How does that look like there’s nothing going on?"
