Matthew Morgan seed to notice she hadn't caught up, so he stopped walking, took his right hand out of his pocket, and loosened his tie a bit.
He turned his body slightly and glanced back at Chloe Grant.
His eyes clearly showed impatience and coldness.
Chloe shivered a little, quickly picked up her small short legs, and jogged to catch up.
Matthew turned back around, casually placing his hands in his pockets, and continued walking forward.
Where was he going?
Where did he want to take her?
How long would they walk?
Chloe kept up with him, but her head was filled with countless questions.
Plus, Matthew's legs were really long and his strides were big.
Chloe, being only 1.6 ters tall, didn't have long legs either, so keeping up with the man in front of her, whose body seed all legs, was really exhausting.
And Matthew wasn't saying where they were going, nor did he show any sign of stopping.
Chloe didn't dare to ask much and simply felt exhausted chasing behind him in silence.
Initially, she was thinking about Lucas Morgan, but now she couldn't think about it at all.
Chloe didn't even glance at the stores they passed by, reflecting their figures.
Matthew walked ahead with elegant posture, his face handso, and his profile perfect, causing many passersby to marvel and turn their heads, but due to his aura, they didn't dare approach him.
Looking at Chloe behind him, her cheeks were red as she tried to keep up with Matthew's pace, she was in a state of speed-walking. Her face was flushed red, she was panting, and sweat was constantly dripping down.
The two of them maintained this state as they walked down several streets.
At first, Chloe didn't understand, then she was angry, and now she had no temper left at all.
Following Matthew had almost beco a reflex.
So when Matthew suddenly stopped, Chloe couldn't stop herself and slamd her whole body right into his back...!
At that critical mont, as Chloe was about to crash into his back, he suddenly turned around, and coincidentally, Chloe fell directly into his arms.
Instinctively, her hands clutched onto his back.
Instantly, the world fell silent.
This street wasn't bustling, and there weren't many people, just a few scattered vehicles passing by.
The dim streetlights bathed the two of them, their elongated shadows overlapping.
From a distance, they looked like a young couple in love.
The man was tall and handso, the woman petite and adorable.
"Wow, such a romantic scene." soone sighed from a passing car.
Then another voice added, "Mainly because that guy is so handso!"
The two voices quickly faded as the car drove past, reminding Chloe who had accidentally bumped into Matthew's arms.
Her first reaction was to hastily let go, detaching herself from Matthew's embrace and stepping back several paces.
Seeing Matthew's displeased expression, she swallowed a few tis, feeling incredibly guilty.
Uncle Morgan really didn't like to be touched by others.
Chloe's heart once again trembled.
She wanted to cry, thinking what on earth was going on.
Why was this intimidating Matthew back to tornt her!
"Want to take you back?" Matthew asked coldly.
anwhile, a car had already pulled up across the street, stopping right next to where the two of them stood.
The car door opened, the driver stepped out, walked over to Matthew, called out "Grandpa Morgan," handed the car keys to Matthew, and then left by himself.
Matthew glanced at Chloe, gesturing for her to follow.
Without thinking, Chloe stepped forward and followed.
Matthew opened the passenger seat for her.
Chloe's steps slowed a bit, and she stood in front of the car door. Looking up at Matthew, it was clear she had sothing to say.
