Chloe Grant originally wanted to play dead, but... in her mind, a flash of Lily Grant’s expression at the dining table when she looked at Matthew Morgan ca to her.
With a jolt, she finally opened the door for Lily, letting her in.
She needed to get to the bottom of this.
By this ti, Lily had removed her makeup, her right hand was still in a cast, and she wore black-frad glasses.
After arriving in Chloe Grant’s room, she didn’t speak, just slightly surveyed the room.
It was completely a princess-style room, pink and blue, with a photo wall full of pictures of Chloe Grant with the Morgan family mbers.
Chloe Grant closed the door directly, leaning against it with her arms crossed in front of her chest.
"What kind of trick are you trying to pull now?"
Chloe was straightforward with her words.
She didn’t feel, given the transparent state of her relationship with Lily now, that she needed to beat around the bush or do otherwise.
"Nothing much, just ca to see your room." Lily’s reply was simple, and her gaze indeed kept sweeping around the room.
Although she was brought here for convalescence because she saved Isabella Gray, she was staying in a guest room and not sharing a room with Lucas Morgan.
The guest room, although large, lacked any vibrancy and was very minimalistic in decor.
It clearly looked like it was ant for temporary guests.
Unlike Chloe Grant’s room, which was obviously decorated with care, clearly... the master room.
"You’ve looked around, are you leaving now?" Chloe retorted.
Lily turned back, "I thought you’d ask so questions."
Chloe replied, "I thought you would keep pretending with ."
Pretending to be familiar, pretending to be kind, pretending to be gentle.
These were things Lily had been doing lately.
"I was planning to please you a little, reconcile, hoping we could be good sisters. Since you don’t appreciate it, why should I keep pretending?" Lily responded directly this ti.
She walked over to Chloe’s desk and picked up the photo album on top of it.
It was a group photo of Chloe Grant with the Morgan brothers.
In the photo, Matthew Morgan stood with no expression on his face. Whether due to the sunlight or other reasons, his expression in the picture appeared very gentle and warm.
Standing next to him were Chloe Grant and Lucas Morgan.
Lucas had his hand draped over Chloe’s shoulder, chin raised, his signature mischievous smile on his lips, full of swagger.
In comparison, Matthew Morgan standing beside him was much more reserved.
But oddly—
"Mr. Morgan is standing there so low-key, but the first glance at this photo, it’s still him," Lily remarked with a sigh.
Chloe frowned, and from her angle, she could just see Lily’s profile, seeing clearly that Lily was stroking Matthew’s image in the photo.
"What are you trying to say?" Chloe was very wary!
And in her heart, she seed to have already guessed seven or eight parts of Lily’s intentions.
"I want to make a deal with you," Lily put down the photo fra and turned to face Chloe.
"What?"
What kind of deal could there be between them?
"You help with sothing, and once it’s done, I’ll give Lucas to you. What do you think?"
Lily wore a confident smile.
She believed this offer was very tempting for Chloe.
After all, she understood how much Chloe liked Lucas better than anyone!
Chloe’s face turned dark upon hearing her words.
Especially towards the end, she almost wanted to rush over and choke this woman.
