"Where did you get this information?" Matthew Morgan asked.
He knew Chloe Grant’s personality well—lazy and passive!
Litchi FM was just a new product from a Morgan Group subsidiary and hadn’t officially launched yet.
Unless recomnded by friends, Chloe wouldn’t be interested in these things.
"Sophia Fraser suggested it," Chloe admitted without hiding anything.
Matthew raised an eyebrow.
This person wasn’t unfamiliar to him, as the Morgan Group had been closely collaborating with the Fraser Group recently.
Both were well-established family businesses in the capital, and their recent cooperation had caused quite a stir.
"Alright, I’ll take care of it."
So...
Did he agree?
Matthew’s straightforward agreent surprised Chloe so much that she forgot to respond.
She thought Matthew would make things difficult or disagree, dashing her hopes entirely.
"What’s the matter?"
Seeing Chloe wasn’t responding and was just staring at him, Matthew asked, "Do you have any questions?"
Chloe quickly shook her head, "No, nothing..."
"I’ll have soone take you back." Matthew picked up a file from the side, seemingly ready to return to work.
"No need, I can go back myself."
Chloe quickly said, "Um, Uncle Morgan, I’m leaving then, see you..."
"Where do you think you’re going? Do you know where the elevator is? Do you know how to get down?"
Matthew closed the file.
Forget it, he’d better escort her down; otherwise, who knows who might bully her next.
He didn’t want such incidents to happen again.
Recalling the scene in the security room, Matthew’s eyes turned deep and brooding.
But when facing Chloe again, everything returned to normal.
He walked towards her, grabbed her wrist, and led her out.
Chloe obediently followed Matthew, not daring to breathe too loudly.
On the top floor of the Morgan Group building, only Matthew’s office and the secretary’s office were there, making the space feel expansive with a simple and direct decor style.
As Matthew walked Chloe out, the people in the secretary’s office couldn’t help but stretch their necks to get a better look.
Of course, since they had been working alongside Matthew for many years, they knew Mr. Morgan’s habits well. Even if curious to death, they kept their heads down and focused on work!
Matthew escorted Chloe to his private elevator and pressed the button, opening the doors.
"Uncle Morgan, I can go down by myself."
As she entered, Chloe hurriedly said.
Matthew didn’t argue, only said lightly, "Next ti, contact directly if anything cos up."
Chloe naturally didn’t dare to retort, softly responded, "Okay."
Watching the elevator doors close, Matthew turned around and headed back to his office.
As he walked past the secretary’s office, he tapped the table, "Get Jas Heady to see imdiately."
...
Chloe had just gotten off the elevator when she bumped into Jas Heady hurrying over, and the two ca face to face.
Jas looked Chloe up and down; apart from a slightly swollen face and a mark on her neck, she seed fine, which made him exhale in relief.
Chloe squinted at him, "Jas, you sold out so fast!"
The ssage sent to Matthew’s phone was ticulous!
Jas felt wronged but couldn’t say anything, "Chloe, once I can safely et you a second ti, I’ll definitely compensate you! But now... I need to go appease the King Yama upstairs."
Thinking of Matthew... Chloe couldn’t help but shiver.
Originally planning to have a word with Jas about the ssage, she suddenly felt sympathy instead.
She patted him on the shoulder, "Take care, brother!"
Jas: ...
