"Do any of you feel a bit hungry?"

Lin Fan had been discussing with them for quite a while, and he started feeling like his stomach was missing sothing. Seed like he was hungry.

"Junior Brother, funny you should ntion it. I didn’t feel it before, but now I think I might really be a bit hungry," Chen Zhiyu said, drooling, fully trusting his junior brother’s cooking skills. That taste was unforgettable, and just thinking about it made him impatient.

Xi Xi and Yang Gang both gave Junior Brother Chen a disdainful glance. Eating so much that he’s beco this overweight—wasn’t he afraid soday he’d be too fat to even walk, or that he’d never find a Daoist companion?

"Give a mont, I’ll be right back." Lin Fan dashed off at lightning speed. He had thought of the Five-colored Heavenly Chickens, those truly beautiful and harmonious creatures, lounging around, eating, drinking, and sleeping every day without a care in the world. As the saying goes, "Your comfort cos at a price."

For example, spreading your legs...

Or maybe sothing simpler, like filling soone else’s stomach.

And besides, he kind of missed Ye Zhen Tian. Though he had only recently returned, just thinking about Ye Zhen Tian being beaten into such a state made him feel obligated to go check in on him.

Yang Gang watched Lin Fan’s retreating figure and said with a touch of gloom, "I feel like Junior Brother might be headed to Zhen Tian Peak."

Nan Gongjin said, "Yep, no doubt about it. Brother’s craving chicken."

Zhen Tian Peak.

Lin Fan strolled through Zhen Tian Peak’s domain, greeted respectfully by disciples along the way. After all, having a great mom like Lin Fan’s—well, that was the kind of privilege they could only dream of but would never achieve.

"Mm."

"Mm."

Lin Fan nodded calmly in response to the greetings from his junior brothers. He wasn’t one to flaunt his image deliberately.

"Brother Lin, may I ask if sothing has brought you here? Brother Ye is in closed-door cultivation and likely won’t be able to host you," a disciple proactively approached to strike up a conversation. Ever since Nan Gongjin was recruited by the other side, Brother Ye hadn’t really paid much attention to the junior disciples here.

Sothing like, "Even soone I held so dear has betrayed —how could I possibly count on any of you?"

So, the disciples on Zhen Tian Peak mostly kept to their own business, self-managing their daily tasks.

Lin Fan said, "No need for him to host . I’m very familiar with this place—just ca to grab sothing, that’s all."

The disciple stared blankly at Lin Fan. This was Zhen Tian Peak, after all—how could he claim to be "familiar"? Plus, to say sothing like "grab sothing" so casually—if Brother Ye found out, he’d probably jump up in rage.

Soon enough—

When Lin Fan reached the chicken coop, the Five-colored Heavenly Chickens were ambling leisurely inside. From ti to ti, they would lower their heads to peck at the rice scattered on the ground.

There were also paired chickens rubbing against one another, building intimacy.

"They’ve been raised pretty well, much plumper than when I saw them last ti." Lin Fan had a unique fondness for these Five-colored Heavenly Chickens. It was a feeling difficult to express with words—sothing that could only be savored when tasting their at, feeling its texture and flavor, achieving a sense of oneness and harmony.

Suddenly—

The Five-colored Heavenly Chickens that had been enjoying their carefree lives felt the aura of a predator.

They swiveled their chicken heads, their beady little eyes locking onto Lin Fan’s.

Then—

Buk-buk-buk!

The scene erupted into a full-on, chaotic flurry. "Chicken flying and dogs running" perfectly described the situation now.

The Five-colored Heavenly Chickens panicked, flapping their wings wildly in a desperate attempt to flee the coop. They sensed the looming danger—staying put ant they’d get eaten.

Lin Fan chuckled as he said, "I didn’t expect that after all this ti, they’d still rember . They’re so excited to see —it’s touching. You guys have been on my mind every single day after all."

Five-colored Heavenly Chickens: "Have so dignity, will you?"

Lin Fan wasted no ti. He dove straight in, quickly grabbing hold of one plump Five-colored Heavenly Chicken. Another chicken, seeing its mate captured, wasn’t about to stand idly by. Wings spread and clucking furiously, it charged at Lin Fan.

"Getting jealous because I’m not catching you? Alright then, let’s fulfill your humble request." Lin Fan laughed as he scooped up the chicken couple in one swift motion.

Not far away, so disciples witnessing this scene felt a deep sadness in their hearts. But none of them dared to step forward and intervene. These Five-colored Heavenly Chickens were treasures dear to Brother Ye—and yet soone was bold enough to openly snatch them? This was crossing quite a line.

anwhile, Ye Zhen Tian, who was in closed-door cultivation, was, of course, unaware of the situation outside.

He was fully imrsed in the realm of Dao Artifacts, with no ti to care about anything else.

Not long after—

Lin Fan descended from the peak with a chicken in each hand. "When your Brother Ye erges from seclusion, let him know I ca to take two chickens."

The disciples of Zhen Tian Peak watched Lin Fan leave, speechless. What could they even say? The positions they held weren’t equal—who would dare to pipe up, "These chickens belong to Brother Ye! You can’t take them!" The consequences of confronting him could very well be terrifying.

From their observations—

Brother Lin was soone quite petty. Anyone who offended him usually didn’t have a good ending.

Hadn’t they noticed how Brother Lin consistently dropped by Zhen Tian Peak to pick on Brother Ye? If it weren’t intentional, why didn’t Brother Lin visit any of the other peaks?

When Lin Fan returned—

Xi Xi and the others glanced at the chickens in his hands, silently thinking to themselves. The rift between Junior Brother Lin and Ye Zhen Tian seed irreparable now. These chickens had really taken quite the toll.

"Give a mont, and you’ll soon have delicious red date chicken soup," Lin Fan said, carrying the two chickens into the kitchen. He boiled water, picked up the knife, and bled the chickens. Then, he tossed them into the hot water to pluck their feathers. Splendid, colorful feathers flew everywhere—it was unfortunate, truly unfortunate.

At that mont, Xi Xi and the others started their own discussion.

"Junior Brother Lin might be aiming to wipe out all the chickens on Zhen Tian Peak. When Ye Zhen Tian cos out of seclusion, he’ll be furious."

"Yeah, I think Junior Brother Lin has an unusual fondness for chickens."

"I’ve always wondered why Brother Lin is so dead set on chewing Ye Zhen Tian out. Their conflicts don’t seem that serious to —didn’t it all just start with that Life and Death Platform duel?"

They debated back and forth but still couldn’t piece together the reasons behind it all.

The hidden truth, of course, wasn’t sothing they could possibly uncover.

Soon enough—

"I’m slling sothing incredible. I know Junior Brother Lin must have finished the chicken soup!" Chen Zhiyu, ever the foodie, imdiately perked up. Even though his body was already so fat it hindered his mobility, he could never resist the allure of delicious food.

Lin Fan walked over with a pot of chicken soup. Afterward, he handed a packed portion to Nan Gongjin. "Take this to Xuanjian Peak for ng Qingyao—let her nourish her body."

"Yes, Brother," Nan Gongjin replied gladly.

Huh?

Xi Xi and the others gaped at Lin Fan in confusion. Nourishing Senior Sister’s body—what kind of secret was hidden behind this gesture?

They all felt sothing seed... odd.

"Why are you all looking at like that?" Lin Fan raised a hand to touch his dashing face. "What? Could it be my unrivaled handsoness has left you all hopelessly captivated?"

Xi Xi remarked, "Junior Brother, let’s have a proper conversation, please stop with this nonsense."

"Alright, nothing much to it. I just stayed at Xuanjian Peak for a while and felt guilty—thought I’d send ng Qingyao so chicken soup to patch things up," Lin Fan said lightly. After all, it had been their first ti—one had lost quite a lot of blood; the other had spent their essence seeking soone’s help. Proper nourishnt was necessary to avoid future weakness.

Later—

Nan Gongjin returned, his head hung low. He didn’t dare to look up. "Brother, I delivered it."

"Got beaten up?" Lin Fan inquired.

Nan Gongjin froze for a mont. "Brother, how did you know?"

"I just knew. If I thought you wouldn’t get beaten, I would’ve gone myself. Knowing full well you’d get whacked is why I sent you instead. Still, you’ve worked hard—co have so food. I saved you a chicken drumstick to replenish your strength." Lin Fan was well aware that ng Qingyao wasn’t easy to deal with and knew she would likely overturn the al box. To avoid wasting ingredients, Lin Fan had deliberately packed two chicken butts instead.

At this mont, Nan Gongjin had nothing left to say. Initially, he wouldn’t have been attacked. But when ng Qingyao saw the two plump chicken butts rolling across the ground after the al box was tossed over, Nan Gongjin ended up black and blue all over.

If he hadn’t run fast enough, his legs might’ve been broken.

Chen Zhiyu, munching with oil dripping from his mouth, searched his bowl for a while. "Huh! Where’s my favorite chicken butt? How co there’s not a single one left?"

Lin Fan said nothing, just smiled. anwhile, Nan Gongjin kept his head down, eating his chicken drumstick, tears streaming from his face.

Chicken butt, my ass.

Ti flew by!

Days and months passed like an arrow in Taiwu Immortal Sect. The past days had been far too comfortable—nothing but chicken day in, day out. By now, even the disciples of Zhen Tian Peak had grown used to Lin Fan’s presence. Watching their Five-colored Heavenly Chicken population shrink by the day, their hearts ached.

It was hard to imagine what their senior brother would do when he finally ca out.

"Hahahaha..."

One day, an earth-shattering laugh echoed across Zhen Tian Peak.

All the disciples were startled.

Brother Ye had co out of seclusion.

In this period of ti, he had painstakingly studied the small cauldron, refining and assimilating it. Finally, he had managed to suppress the Dao Artifact. What surprised Ye Zhen Tian even more was that hidden within this small cauldron was a trace of Dao Rhy left behind by an unknown great expert.

He had comprehended the Dao Rhy and achieved a significant leap in his strength, even gaining partial understanding of a fragntary Great Divine Power left behind by the mysterious expert.

"Lifting Mountains and Rivers!"

This was a Great Divine Power rooted in Body Refinent techniques. Although incomplete, it was a stroke of incredible luck for Ye Zhen Tian, affirming his belief that he was a man of great fortune.

He stepped out of the closed-door cultivation chamber.

Disciples had already gathered to stand on either side, greeting him with respect, "Congratulations to Brother Ye for completing seclusion and greatly enhancing his strength!"

"Hahaha, excellent..." Ye Zhen Tian’s spirits soared, all his previous frustrations swept clean by the joy of this mont.

To the disciples, the stronger their senior brother beca, the better life would be for them.

Zhen Tian Peak’s rank within the Taiwu Immortal Sect was mid-to-high, though it was still slightly short of peak status.

This ranking, of course, was determined by both strength and wealth.

The more powerful and resourceful the mountain’s senior brother was, the better the lives of his subordinates would be.

Ye Zhen Tian felt an inexhaustible surge of vitality within him. Walking along his mountain peak, he admired the flourishing land he had painstakingly built, feeling a pride that swelled uncontrollably.

Then suddenly—

His steps halted, and his gaze fixated on a spot nearby. The ground was littered with vibrant chicken feathers. In the chicken coop, there remained only a single Five-colored Heavenly Chicken standing lonely among the group. It was a dazzling sight, to be sure, but that chicken cowered in a corner, trembling fiercely, shielding its head with its wings, as though saying, "If I can’t see you, you can’t see ."

"Where are my chickens?"

Ye Zhen Tian roared in fury. Where in the world had all his Five-colored Heavenly Chickens gone?

At that mont, a figure entered Ye Zhen Tian’s line of sight—it was the person he despised most.

"Out of seclusion, are we? Congratulations! Judging by your cheerful expression, you must’ve made significant progress," Lin Fan greeted him cheerfully, then, right in front of Ye Zhen Tian, walked into the chicken coop.

He reached out and grabbed that trembling Five-colored Heavenly Chicken without hesitation.

Ye Zhen Tian bellowed, "Put down my chicken!"
