Oh my!
In his entire life, he had never seen anything so terrifying.
A skeleton is just a skeleton.
But flas jumping out of its eye sockets? Who’s it trying to scare?
Especially that furious roar—it almost made his poor heart explode.
"Run, everyone run! The Abyss Sea is a trap. If you don’t want to die, run now!" Lin Fan crawled out from the cave and shouted loudly.
The mont he said those words,
a sudden flash streaked past at breakneck speed. Upon closer look, it was Ye Zhen Tian clutching a Dao Artifact and fleeing wildly. His injuries were severe, blood spilling from his mouth, yet he still seed energized, with madness burning in his eyes as he roared.
"The Dao Artifact belongs to . I, Ye Zhen Tian, own it. No one can take it from !"
Ye Zhen Tian was dashing away with incredible speed, powerful air currents swirling around him. Clearly, he had barely survived an encirclent, yet he remained defiant.
He had initially joined in the quest to seize the Dao Artifact but always felt he might not succeed. To his surprise, the last person to grab the Dao Artifact was nearly obliterated, their soul almost scattered. Unable to endure any longer, they threw the Dao Artifact away in frustration.
And it landed right in Ye Zhen Tian’s hands.
What was Ye Zhen Tian supposed to do now?
Throw the Dao Artifact away? He couldn’t bear to. So, clutching it, he fled as fast as he could.
Whoosh!
A figure darted off.
Soon after, several figures sped in pursuit.
"Ye Zhen Tian, leave the Dao Artifact behind, or you’ll regret it!"
"Damn it! How about splitting the Dao Artifact evenly? Can’t we all stop fighting?"
Without looking back, Ye Zhen Tian bellowed, "The Dao Artifact belongs to whoever fate chooses! I, Ye Zhen Tian, am blessed with great fortune, and the Dao Artifact has chosen ! Let’s call it even—I owe you all a favor and will repay you in the future."
"I’m willing to split my Spirit Vein with you."
He was willing to give up his Spirit Vein for the Dao Artifact.
But how could the others believe his words?
"He’s really fast." Lin Fan watched Ye Zhen Tian streak away. For the Dao Artifact to end up in his hands, it did seem like he had exceptional fortune. It didn’t change much for Lin Fan’s situation, though.
Lin Fan turned back and saw ng Qingyao standing there, blood slowly dripping from her arm’s fingertips, her expression slightly pale.
It was apparent she’d gotten injured during the earlier scuffle.
"ng Qingyao, hurry up and leave, or you won’t be able to escape later!" Lin Fan yelled.
What else could he do?
This woman would just freeze up whenever she got hurt.
And at that mont,
the Forbidden Land began to shake, growing increasingly unstable. Lin Fan paid no heed to ng Qingyao’s condition, darting straight for the exit. But just as Lin Fan was about to reach it, sothing strange occurred.
The entire area was suddenly sealed off.
The exit vanished into thin air.
"You’ve got to be kidding ."
Lin Fan stared wide-eyed, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Was this really necessary?
ng Qingyao let out a light groan as her arm trembled slightly, forcing out a tiny needle-like weapon no thicker than a hair. It fell to the ground with a tallic clink.
Turns out ng Qingyao wasn’t simply stunned into immobility; she had suffered severe injuries that prevented her from moving. At last, using her mana, she managed to expel the object.
"A disciple of a prestigious Immortal Sect possessing such an evil artifact. What a disgrace." ng Qingyao’s face was ashen. She had been montarily careless and was tricked into falling victim to soone’s sche.
At that mont,
ng Qingyao moved closer to examine the situation, fear flickering in her eyes. "Where’s the exit? How did it vanish?"
"Gone. It just closed a mont ago. Looks like we’re both trapped here," Lin Fan replied.
"Ti here passes far too quickly. If we don’t find an exit soon, our lifespans won’t last much longer," ng Qingyao said with a hint of panic. Despite being a True Disciple exposed to countless dangerous situations, she discovered that under such dire circumstances, her composure wasn’t as steadfast as she’d imagined it would be.
Ignoring Lin Fan, ng Qingyao began searching for an escape route,
no longer paying attention to the Spirit Grass growing around them.
The accelerated ti flow here existed solely for the Spirit Grass.
The treasures had remained intact for countless years, continuously attracting cultivators despite frequent deaths in this place.
After a long while,
Lin Fan noticed a significant reduction in his lifespan. In his estimation, barely an hour had passed, yet he had aged nearly a hundred years.
At this rate,
his lifespan would completely deplete within a few more hours.
Far away, ng Qingyao continued her search for a way out, but every attempt proved futile. The area was strange; she noticed an intricate series of array formations—countless interconnected formations executed with astonishing craftsmanship beyond mortal capabilities.
In fact,
she suspected there might be an extraordinary treasure hidden here sustaining the place’s chanisms, as re array formations alone couldn’t account for the accelerated ti flow.
Such manipulation of ti, she thought, involved far more than simple techniques.
With her current cultivation level, understanding it was impossible.
Only a true master of array formations might have a chance to unravel the mysteries of this place.
ng Qingyao glanced at Lin Fan. She knew he was the son of the Supre Elder, so in such circumstances, the elder would surely sense their predicant and arrive to rescue them.
Breaking the Abyss Sea’s restrictions, however,
she wondered whether the Supre Elder had the capability, though she hoped he did.
Her biggest concern was whether, given the current rate of ti flow, they could hold out long enough.
ng Qingyao harbored great ambitions.
Her ultimate goal was to beco the unrivaled female Immortal, the Empress.
She absolutely couldn’t die here.
Lin Fan sat cross-legged on the ground, ditating. The Three God Realm was on the verge of a breakthrough.
The rging of heart and spirit.
The rging of spirit and consciousness.
’Heart’ didn’t refer to the physical organ but the intangible sense of perception, matter, and spirit—sothing untouchable and invisible, blending with the spirit and Divine Soul.
Slowly,
the vast foundation of Immortal Path ascended above his head.
A single isolated flower petal twitched slightly.
And then,
the sensation struck.
The lding of heart and spirit brought forth another petal.
Overwhelming mana catalyzed everything.
Epiphany arrived out of nowhere. He felt his mind clear, his vitality and essence significantly enhanced.
But it wasn’t over yet.
The fusion of spirit and consciousness began. Consciousness, akin to Buddhist Amala Consciousness, represented the pinnacle of perception for cultivators in the Three God Realm. In contrast, the base levels of consciousness—Manas Consciousness and Alaya Consciousness—were achieved during the earlier stages of refining the Divine Soul and attaining Unity of Heaven and Man.
The blending of spirit and consciousness enabled the perception of unseen dangers, remarkably similar to Lin Fan’s Innate Divine Ability, Sudden Shock.
During combat, even if one couldn’t detect an opponent’s movents, an inexplicable sensation would warn of impending attacks.
Three petals blossod.
An imnse surge of spiritual energy seed to flow from the heavens, strengthening him.
Breakthrough!
The Immortal Flower above his head radiated dazzling brilliance.
Its petals enveloped densely packed spiritual energy.
Soon,
he condensed a Golden Core.
It glead brightly, its golden light illuminating their surroundings in splendor.
ng Qingyao stared at Lin Fan, wide-eyed.
She hadn’t expected him to break through here.
To Lin Fan, everything happened smoothly, without any obstacles, starkly different from the struggles most cultivators faced. Perhaps this was the power of supplentary assistance, removing all hindrances and allowing him to savor the thrill of advancent.
Lin Fan opened his eyes, a smile curling across his lips. His lifespan had drastically increased, and he had successfully condensed the first color of the Golden Core—Golden Light Shines.
The Golden Core had three tiers.
Golden Light Shines, Purple Light Mist, and Colorless Myriad Forms.
He had now reached the first tier and planned to continue improving at his own pace without rushing.
"You chose this mont to break through?" ng Qingyao scolded.
Lin Fan grinned and replied, "Well, there’s nothing else to do here anyway. Besides, the accelerated ti flow saves quite a bit of effort. Under normal circumstances, it would’ve taken much longer. So, how’s the search? If you can’t find the exit, just relax and wait for soone to rescue us."
ng Qingyao shot him a sharp glare, unwilling to engage further.
Waiting for rescue was a last-ditch option; true salvation relied on their own efforts.
She refused to believe there weren’t any flaws.
Nothing in this world was perfect—not even array formations. Her failure to find flaws only reflected her inadequacy, not the invulnerability of this place.
"Finish your ditation quickly and help search for weaknesses. This area is composed of countless formations, but if we locate even one flaw, we can escape."
"If you sit here waiting for rescue, we might already be skeletons by the ti others arrive, nothing more than corpses for future explorers to marvel at." ng Qingyao’s slightly parted lips gave an impression of composure, but the sweat trickling from her forehead betrayed her inner turmoil.
Lin Fan said, "But if we don’t wait for rescue, what’s the alternative? If this place were truly that easy to crack, there wouldn’t be so many dead here. Look at that skeleton—it’s impossible to tell how long it’s been dead. Its bones gleam with golden light, indicating it was a formidable expert."
"If even such a powerful cultivator couldn’t escape, do you think we can?"
"So it’s better to sit tight and wait for rescue."
Lin Fan experinted with the protective feel of the Four Saint Guardians from his cultivation thod. Surprisingly, they seed to defend against the accelerated ti flow here, ensuring his lifespan remained unaffected.
Earlier, he had intentionally allowed a hundred years of his lifespan to drain just to gauge the rate.
And indeed, it was extraordinarily deadly.
Ordinary cultivators wouldn’t stand a chance.
Even if they had life-extending Spirit Pills, it wouldn’t matter.
At a hundred-year depletion per hour, how much lifespan would it consu in a single day? Just thinking about it sent chills down his spine—it was horrifying.
ng Qingyao ignored Lin Fan and resud her search.
As ti passed,
ng Qingyao began to panic.
At this rate, her lifespan wouldn’t hold out much longer.
Was she really going to die here?
She felt an intense unwillingness to accept such a fate.
Despair gradually seeped into her heart.
"Lin Fan." ng Qingyao called out at that mont, her gaze fixed on him. It seed as though she’d made a significant decision, because if they didn’t take action, death would certainly co.
"What is it?" Lin Fan asked, noticing that ng Qingyao’s expression carried an odd, unsettling emotion as though sothing unexpected was about to happen.
Even he started to feel nervous.
"Do you want to die?" ng Qingyao asked.
Lin Fan chuckled at her question, "Isn’t that an idiotic question? Who wants to die?"
After briefly pondering, Lin Fan realized ng Qingyao wouldn’t ask such a nonsensical question.
"What, you have a plan?"
