A radiant brilliance swept across the land.

The Yellow Wind Demon stared blankly at the approaching curtain of light, let out an enraged roar, and revealed his five tails, transforming into a half-demon form.

"Damn it!"

Boom!

The dazzling light engulfed the heavens and the earth.

"Ah, what a pitiful creature, running into soone as brilliant as ." Lin Fan appeared calm on the surface, but inside, he was thrilled. Without hesitation, he leapt forward onto the grinding stone. Dead or alive, finishing the job was a must.

"Oh, my goodness!"

Wu Ji opened wide his eyes, then rubbed them. Everything before him seed so surreal.

He had originally thought that these two would be stripped naked by the Demon, tossed into a pool to scrub clean, then skewered over a raging fire to be roasted rcilessly.

But judging by the current situation...

Sothing seed off.

This new companion, Lin, was quite fierce.

Perhaps he finally caught on.

Wu Ji scrambled to his feet, raised his hand high, and shouted enthusiastically, "Go, Daoist Lin! Defend the path and exterminate the Demon! I’m with you all the way."

But his mouth was moving far more than his body.

He wasn’t sure if the Demon was actually dead, so decided it was safest to stay cautious.

Lin Fan didn’t hear the sound of sothing falling, signaling that the Yellow Wind Demon wasn’t dead yet. He jumped onto the grinding stone without a care for its material—those details didn’t matter to him right now.

"Ahhhhh!"

"Ahhhhh!"

The Yellow Wind Demon howled in agony, his flesh torn and mangled, his injuries devastating. He had just realized that the attack which had wounded him originated from his own technique.

"Why are you screaming? Like you’re in heat or sothing. It’s unbearable to listen to." Lin Fan looked at the writhing Yellow Wind Demon with a mix of exasperation and pity.

A Fifth Level Nascent Soul Realm master of the Longevity Realm, reduced to this state by soone insignificant like him, a re Three God Realm cultivator—it was utterly humiliating.

Even if it wasn’t entirely honorable to win under these circumstances...

A win is a win, and who cares about honor when you can simply shout, "Badass!"

Yellow Wind Demon wheezed weakly, "What Divine Skill did you use? I’ve never heard of or seen anything like it."

"Ah, ignorance really is bliss. This is the Pay-to-Win Divine Skill, otherwise known as ’Mom’s Shield Smashing Your Dog Head.’" Lin Fan took out the Flying Smoke Spirit Sword, preparing to finish off the enemy. He avoided using the Green Toad Saber to ensure the job was done properly; it would be too embarrassing to fail with a less capable weapon.

"Perhaps this is destiny. I, the mighty Yellow Wind Demon, have ruled for centuries, yet never imagined I’d et my end here. Human cultivator, I know your intentions—you want to kill . But as I approach death, it’s a pity that my Divine Skills, all sourced from a Secret Realm, cannot be passed down. Too bad indeed. Co closer, and I’ll share them with you." Yellow Wind Demon spoke.

Feeling his previous statent might have been overly suspicious, he quickly softened his tone, adding, "I’m already dying, but people are said to speak kindly before their end. I won’t harm you—it’s truly just because these Divine Skills are rare treasures. Losing them would be a cri against heaven and earth."

"Enough. Your little tricks are transparent to ." Lin Fan sneered at him contemptuously. "Isn’t this just another cheap sche where you kill as soon as I get close?"

"But here’s the thing—I’m not afraid. You think you’ve got the strength left to land an attack?"

"I’m walking right up to you. Let’s see what you do."

Lin Fan approached the Yellow Wind Demon, puffed his chest, and declared, "Co on, hit ! Right here! Co on, give your best shot!"

What the hell!

Such an obnoxious expression.

Who could tolerate it?

No one—not human nor demon.

Yellow Wind Demon gasped for breath, glaring at the infuriating cultivator before him. Despite his outwardly calm deanor, his expression betrayed subtle hints of rage.

But as Lin Fan drew even closer...

The Demon’s face twisted fiercely. "Die, you wretched cultivator!"

Nascent Soul erged.

Though fragile, the raw Nascent Soul power was absolutely terrifying. Cultivators rarely used it in battles, even in monts of crisis, as it was far too dangerous; the smallest mistake spelled total annihilation.

The power of the demon’s Nascent Soul struck Lin Fan.

Splat!

Yellow Wind Demon spewed blood, spraying a hundred feet into the air. His eyes bulged in shock, and his heart filled with curses. How could this happen? By all accounts, Lin Fan should have been shredded to pieces. Why had the attack rebounded onto him?

In that instant...

He realized the truth. Trembling violently, he pointed at Lin Fan, using his last ounce of strength.

"You’re wearing..."

Lin Fan finished for him, "Mom’s Beloved—the Upper Grade Dao Armor. How does it feel?"

Splat!

Yellow Wind Demon spat up more blood, fury overtaking him. He wasn’t just enraged at Lin Fan—he was mad at his own stupidity for attempting to ss with a wearer of Upper Grade Dao Armor.

Lin Fan, swift and precise, swung his sword down across the enemy’s throat, ensuring the Yellow Wind Demon’s fur remained intact.

"Field practice is what truly leads to gains," Lin Fan remarked.

He wouldn’t have had the chance to kill a Nascent Soul Realm demon if he hadn’t left the Taiwu Immortal Sect.

Drop rewards!

Drop rewards—co to !

I’ve been waiting for this mont for so long.

I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Soon enough...

The rewards appeared.

[Acquired Third Grade Earth Spirit Root.]

[Acquired Lesser Divine Skill: Earth Fire Thunder.]

[Acquired Great Divine Power: Yellow Springs Hell.]

[Acquired Small Success in Artifact Refining Technique.]

That’s it.

Only four gains—what a pity Mana didn’t drop. What kind of crappy luck is this? If Mana had dropped, imagine how sweet it would’ve been.

I might even wake up laughing in my sleep.

But then again...

It’s not bad overall.

At least I nabbed the Great Divine Power and the Third Grade Earth Spirit Root.

[Earth Fire Thunder (Lesser Divine Skill): Harness the fire of the earth’s core and the lightning of the heavens, unleashing a force of terror. Stronger effects if paired with Fire and Thunder Spirit Roots.]

[Yellow Springs Hell (Great Divine Power): Creates an illusion of hell that connects to its essence. At its peak, can manifest a complete hellscape and borrow Hell Origin Power to suppress enemies.]

[Small Success in Artifact Refining Technique: Can refine Lower Grade Treasure, with a chance to refine Middle Grade Treasure.]

Lin Fan crouched beside Yellow Wind Demon’s corpse, ticulously searching it. The anomaly of the blood moon didn’t concern him for now—this was more urgent.

Whether or not anything major dropped wasn’t the point. With a slow and deliberate approach, he was bound to find good stuff.

Wu Ji approached Lin Fan. "Daoist Lin, you’re incredible! You killed such a powerful demon. What is your cultivation, though? You can’t just be at the Three God Realm, right?"

Lin Fan ignored him and kept looting.

Wu Ji continued, "Daoist Lin, this demon’s entire body is a treasure! Plus, demons of this caliber surely have so rare items. Don’t you think..." Wu Ji hesitated, feeling a tad embarrassed. He didn’t want to blatantly ask for a share but hoped Lin Fan would catch his drift.

Lin Fan replied, "I know. That’s why I’m looking right now. If you’re free, keep an eye on the surroundings. Warn if you notice anything unusual."

Keenly focused, Lin Fan soon finished sorting the spoils.

He took inventory.

Forty thousand Spirit Stones.

One Middle Grade Spiritual Artifact.

One Storage Ring.

One bottle of Third Grade Elixir.

One Fifth Grade Elixir.

And a pile of miscellaneous items, such as Spirit Grass and Artifact Refining materials.

Basically, anything remotely of value was taken.

Wu Ji pretended to monitor the surroundings, but his eyes stayed glued to Lin Fan’s loot, practically bulging out of their sockets.

So many treasures!

"Daoist Lin, I checked the periter—there’s no sign of anyone nearby for now." Wu Ji started up another conversation with Lin Fan, hoping to signal his interest in so of the spoils without being too direct.

But Lin Fan remained indifferent.

"Wow, this demon was loaded. Look at all these riches."

"Hmm."

"Ah, unlike —I’m broke. Then again, I have a low status in my sect, so what can I do?"

"Keep working hard."

"Daoist Lin, do you think I’ll find any fortune here? I an, soone like probably doesn’t have much luck, right?"

"Alright, I’m done sorting." Lin Fan packed up everything, then stood and said, "Our real problem now lies with the blood moon above. What’s this pillar of light doing to the blood moon? It’s worth pondering."

"And we can’t let our guard down—sothing could happen at any mont."

Lin Fan shifted the conversation away from the spoils and onto the issue of the blood moon, leaving Wu Ji flustered.

Co on, Daoist Lin.

Couldn’t you toss a bone? Even a small gesture would’ve been fine.

After all, I fought alongside you. Watching you loot everything is making my heart ache.

No choice.

What could Wu Ji say now?

"Daoist Lin, the situation isn’t looking good. In my opinion, we should leave this area." Wu Ji spoke gravely, sensing an ominous aura from the blood moon. Staying any longer might lead to disastrous consequences.

Lin Fan paused for a mont in contemplation.

He had a point.

Lin Fan could sense sothing was off too.

Despite wearing the Four Saints Reverse Heaven Set for protection—it could hold against all but a True Immortal Realm adversary—but what if he did run into a True Immortal?

Thrill-seeking is one thing.

But caution should never be abandoned.

Holding your position without knowing the enemy’s cards was foolish.

"Let’s go."

Lin Fan decisively made his move, rushing toward the distance. His sole goal was to find an escape route from this place.

The grinding stone wasn’t anything special.

It was just ordinary rock carved into its current form, used to operate arrays and gather demon energy. If it truly were a treasure, he’d have packed it up and taken it without hesitation.

After Lin Fan and Wu Ji had departed for so ti...

A channel erged above the blood moon.

A terrifying presence spread outward from the channel.

The demon energy concentrated around the blood moon shattered as if struck by an overwhelming force.

A massive foot covered in scales erged from the blood moon, stepping onto the grinding stone. With a deafening crash, the enormous grinding stone shattered instantly. A fierce current of energy surged outward, enveloping the area in a powerful storm.

The blood moon disappeared.

In its place was an enormous figure overshadowing everything.

The Devil God had descended, blocking out the sky and sun, his boundless power limitless. The earth below, unable to withstand his imnse weight, continuously splintered and collapsed.

A terrifying entity had arrived.

Fortunately, Lin Fan and Wu Ji had left beforehand.

If they hadn’t, who knows how they’d survive?

It’s hard to say.
