Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Go Out More

The rain doesn’t seem like it will stop anyti soon, so Su ixi decided to go into the supermarket to buy sothing to fill her stomach.

She picked a boxed al in the prepared food section, asked the staff mber to heat it up, and then took it to a small dining table to eat.

While she was eating, a staff mber ca by and saw her. The staff mber was a woman in her forties who, upon seeing Su ixi, asked enthusiastically, “Hey, why are you eating here today? Isn’t your husband cooking for you?”

Su ixi paused for a mont.

The woman chuckled and said, “Your husband, he used to co to our supermarket every day to buy groceries. Everyone here recognizes him. He’s tall and handso, and so considerate. He said you liked ribs, and sotis he’d even ask us to save the freshest ribs for him.”

Su ixi forced a smile and then her eyes involuntarily reddened.

...

The woman continued, “You have no idea how much we all envy you. But it seems like he hasn’t been around for a while.”

Su ixi quickly said, “He’s on a business trip.”

“No wonder. But our boxed als are delicious too; you should give them a try,” the woman said before she hustled off to attend to other matters.

Su ixi, however, had lost her appetite.

She had always thought that Gu Wei approached her just for sex, but if that’s all he wanted, why would he bother doing all those things?

He clearly wanted to share a life with her.

Her tears fell again.

Ah, just forget it, she thought, perhaps she and he were not ant to be after all.

Since they were going to divorce, they might as well be done with it.

Thinking of divorce, she suddenly rembered that she and Gu Wei hadn’t gotten their divorce certificate yet.

But with his kind of family background, a divorce didn’t require his presence, right? His mother was so powerful, surely just a word from her and soone would take care of the divorce certificate for them.

That’s how Su ixi drifted through the following days.

Even though she tried hard to adjust, she still made silly mistakes from ti to ti, like using toothpaste as facial cleanser. And sotis, if soone patted her back from behind, she would subconsciously use the self-defense techniques Gu Wei taught her.

Once, Li Pingping patted her from behind and got thrown over Su ixi’s shoulder. Li Pingping imdiately complained to Mr. Wang.

But Su ixi could only explain that it was a misunderstanding, though sadly no one believed her.

Of course, everyone knew she was heartbroken, and it’s common for a woman who has just lost love to act out of the ordinary. Mr. Wang only scolded Su ixi lightly.

However, Mr. Wang was also concerned that Su ixi’s state of mind might affect her job, so he said to her, “Su ixi, you can’t just work all the ti; you need to participate in more activities.”

“Activities?” Su ixi asked, puzzled.

Mr. Wang asked, “Don’t you have any friends? Class reunions, anything, are better than just going to work and then ho. You’ll get depressed.”

Su ixi understood.

Mr. Wang wanted her to distract herself. As long as she socialized more, she wouldn’t constantly be thinking of Gu Wei.

That day after work, she happened to run into Bi Yuanhang who was also finishing up for the day.

Bi Yuanhang hadn’t bothered her recently. Given that they lived in the sa building, it was normal that they would occasionally run into each other, so Su ixi didn’t think too much of it.

Bi Yuanhang greeted her, “Xiao Xi, you just finished work too?”

Su ixi nodded.

“Have you eaten? I bought so groceries; do you want to join for dinner?”

Su ixi shook her head, “No thanks, I’ve bought so groceries myself.”

“Okay then, I’ll be heading off first,” said Bi Yuanhang.

Su ixi stopped him, “Um… didn’t you say you were going to a wedding?”

Bi Yuanhang’s eyes lit up, “You want to go?”

“Where is it being held?”

Bi Yuanhang replied, “How about I add you on WeChat? I can send you the location and the wedding agenda, so you can take a closer look.”

Su ixi didn’t think too much about it.

Actually, when she was in Guang City, Bi Yuanhang had requested to add her, but she didn’t accept.

Now, she simply regarded Bi Yuanhang as an ordinary neighbor, so adding him on WeChat was no big deal.

After adding Su ixi on WeChat, Bi Yuanhang casually said, “I’ll send it to you when I get ho, I’m going back to cook now.”

Su ixi nodded, and they each went their separate ways.

On the day of blue sky, Bi Yuanhang ssaged Su ixi, asking if she wanted to go together.

Su ixi said no, she would go on her own.

Bi Yuanhang stared at Su ixi’s ssage for a while, lost in thought.

It still wasn’t the right ti; he had to continue waiting.

Su ixi took a taxi to blue sky’s wedding.

The wedding was held on a large lawn, a popular spot in Feng City for Western-style weddings.

From afar, Su ixi saw a couple standing underneath a heart-shaped arrangent of balloons and flowers. For so reason, tears stread down her face.

She regretted coming.

She was soone who had been married, yet had no wedding. She didn’t know if she would ever get the chance in her lifeti.

Su ixi turned around, intending to leave.

However, several people at the scene recognized her.

“Isn’t that the beautiful Su ixi? You actually ca?”

“Su ixi, why don’t you co over? Since you’re here already.”

A female classmate from the next class, Yanzi, ca over to pull her.

Yanzi said, “We were just talking about you a few days ago, saying you’re working back in Feng City now. Why don’t you ever co to our gatherings?”

Su ixi replied, “I often have to work on weekends and during the winter break. It conflicts with your gatherings.”

“You must have social anxiety, right? Even back at school you didn’t talk much. Now that you’re in society, you must be sociable. Besides, we’re all classmates; there’s no backstabbing here, so feel free to have fun.”

Yanzi pulled Su ixi over.

In no ti, she was surrounded by about a dozen classmates. So looked very familiar with little change since their school days, while a few had changed so much that it took her a while to recognize them.

But no matter whether they were male or female, they were all warm to her, asking how she was doing with genuine concern.

After a little while, soone else shouted, “Look, Bi Yuanhang, our senior brother, he’s here too!”
