Su ixi had made an appointnt with a colleague from the endocrinology departnt, planning to check her pregnancy hormones when she wasn’t too busy.
She had been worried that the reason she hadn’t conceived was due to her own issues.

Wang Bing quietly wiped her tears, and after about ten minutes, she finally said, “I might be getting a divorce.”
“Why? Did sothing happen?” Su ixi asked in surprise.
She had seen Wang Bing’s husband a few tis, and he seed like a simple and honest soldier.
Could it be because of infertility?
Wang Bing used the tissue Su ixi handed her and dried her tears before continuing, “Chen Shu’s mother ca over, staying at our new house, but she didn’t co alone.”
Su ixi was aware of this, as Wang Bing had ntioned it before.
Chen Shu was Wang Bing’s husband. He planned to make a career in Yun City, but since he didn’t have much capital, he bought an apartnt in a relatively remote area which had just been renovated.
No sooner had it been renovated than Wang Bing’s mother-in-law arrived with a cousin, claiming she was there to help clean and since the new house was far from the hospital, and since there were accommodations in the Military District, Wang Bing didn’t bother too much and stayed in the dormitory.
“Is your mother-in-law causing trouble again?”
Wang Bing said, “Yesterday, I accidentally saw a ssage on Chen Shu’s phone. My mother-in-law kept telling him to go over and chat with his cousin, but it turns out she’s not really his cousin. She’s a woman my mother-in-law picked from back in the country, intending for her to replace .”

Su ixi had just bought a bag of apples at the supermarket downstairs. She handed the apples to the old lady and added, “Auntie, I’m Su ixi.”
With such a warm reception, Su ixi could not remain stern.
Old Mrs. Chen invited them in, serving both tea and water, and also brought out so precious fruits from the house for them to eat.
There was absolutely no feeling of tension.
Chen Shu’s “cousin” also ca out to help entertain them. “Sister Bing, why didn’t you let us know in advance you were coming? If you had, Auntie and I could have prepared a al for you.”
