Chapter 53: THE ETING 2

"Oh Welco Mr. Chris, I have been expecting you also." Mr. Becker welcod Rowan, whose eyes were still on Astrid.

"It was to my surprise that you had invited the both of us to be in the eting," Rowan stated and Mr Becker nodded his head.

"Yes," he answered. Then he glanced at Julian.

"You must know Mr. Logan.." he introduced and Rowan snorted and stretched his hand for a handshake.

"It’s nice eting you again, Mr. Logan." Rowan greeted with gritted teeth, before accepting the handshake.

"Sa here... Mr. Chris," he responded even though one could tell he didn’t an his words.

"Let’s have a seat for the eting," Mr. Becker announced as Ryan pulled out the chair for his boss to have his seat.

Sa as that of Astrid, Mr. Becker snapped his fingers and a waiter appeared with a wine.

As the wine was poured, Astrid’s nose wrinkled in distaste. She had never been fond of the bitter taste but didn’t want to offend their host.

Julian, however, raised his glass with a small smile.

"To new beginnings," Mr. Becker toasted, his eyes sparkling.

Rowan echoed the sentint, clinking his glass against Julian’s as their eyes bore into their souls. Astrid hesitantly followed suit, so as not to feel left out.

"So, Mr. Becker," Rowan began, after sipping his wine.

"I am intrigued, at the reason you had invited two rival jewelry designers to a table,"

Astrid also dropped her glass, after pretending to sip from it as she couldn’t help but wonder what crazy things she had done.

Mr. Becker’s smile broadened. "Well, I have been searching for the perfect partner to recreate an ancient sopotamian necklace," he explained as he also dropped his glass.

"You are both great in the field so I would like to hear your visions, gentlen."

Julian’s eyes lit up as he dropped his wine. "Well, Mr. Becker I studied the Surian era extensively. I envision a stunning Lapis Lazuli and Gold piece, incorporating ancient techniques with modern flair."

Mr. Becker nodded thoughtfully at this. "I would focus on sustainability, using eco-friendly materials and minimalist design to highlight the necklace’s historical significance." continued.

Astrid on the other hand listened intently, impressed by Julian’s passion.

It was the first ti sitting at the table of the wealthy ones. She has always worked as a waiter her whole life and wondered what wealthy people talk about.

Sitting amid three powerful n in their city made her feel worthy of herself for the first ti in her life.

Mr. Becker leaned forward. "Fascinating. Julian, tell

more about your design."

Julian launched into a detailed explanation, his words painting a vivid picture. Rowan interjected occasionally, but Julian’s ideas shone through.

As the conversation flowed, Astrid found herself drawn to Julian’s confidence and creativity.

"Now, Rowan," Mr. Becker said as he turned to him, "how would you ensure authenticity in your design?"

Rowan hesitated before responding, "I would research ancient texts and consult with historians to ensure accuracy."

Julian added, "I would also incorporate symbols and codes inspired by sopotamian mythology."

Mr. Becker nodded, his expression thoughtful.

The conversation continued, with both n tossing their ideas.

Just then Astrid found herself feeling sympathetic toward Rowan.

Despite his best efforts, Julian’s ideas seed to overshadow Rowan’s contributions.

She noticed Rowan’s subtle expressions of frustration, his eyes darting toward Julian with a mix of admiration and envy.

Astrid felt guilty, if she hadn’t made a mistake Mr. Becker wouldn’t have gone to him, giving him wild hope.

If he never gave her Mr. Becker’s address, she wouldn’t have been able to convince him to co to work with them again.

"Mr. Becker," Astrid intervened, her voice gentle, "I think I might have an idea."

The table fell silent, attention shifting to her.

"Perhaps," Astrid continued,

"Instead of choosing between them, could we consider a collaboration?"

Julian’s eyebrows rose, surprise etched on his face, while Rowan’s eyes lit up with interest.

"Imagine combining Julian’s historical expertise with Rowan’s innovative approach," Astrid elaborated. "Together, they could create sothing truly remarkable."

Mr. Becker’s expression transford from curiosity to intrigue. "Tell

more, Astrid."

"By working together," Astrid explained, "Julian and Rowan can share their strengths, ensuring authenticity and creativity. This partnership would not only benefit the project but also enable a unique style." Mr. Becker nodded enthusiastically.

"And I would love to learn from Julian’s expertise." Rowan let out and Julian smiled awkwardly.

He wasn’t happy with this, not because they would be working together but because Astrid had made the suggestion.

"I am also open to Rowan’s fresh perspective," he stated, annoyed.

Mr. Becker leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. "I like it. A collaboration could yield sothing extraordinary."

"Shall we discuss the materials needed then?" Astrid indicated excitedly that they had listened to her and not taken her to be a joke.

As the conversation flowed, Astrid would throw down suggestions, and the n would listen.

She felt so important, that her ideas also weren’t tossed away.

Mr. Becker smiled, satisfied. "I think we have made excellent progress. Astrid, your suggestion of a collaboration is brilliant."

"Let’s finalize the details," Mr. Becker continued. "I want Julian and Rowan to work together, combining their expertise to recreate the sopotamian necklace.

"Astrid, please oversee the project’s logistics and ensure its success."

Astrid nodded, as felt honored that a huge deal was placed on her.

"eting adjourned," Mr. Becker declared, pushing back his chair.

As the group stood, Julian extended his hand to Rowan. "Looking forward to our collaboration."

Rowan shook it firmly. "Sa here. Let’s create sothing incredible." their hands fird against one another as they glared at themselves.

Astrid smiled, relieved the eting had ended positively.

Mr. Becker handed each of them a folder. "Project outline, tilines, and contact information. The remaining details will be sent to your emails."

Julian handed his folder to Astrid before Rowan would think of doing sothing crazy.

"You can take your ti to go through it and finalize everything needed before the next eting."

With final pleasantries, the group dispersed.

As Astrid and Julian walked out of the restaurant, Rowan was quick to et their pace calling the attention of Astrid.

"Thank you, Beauty, you saved this eting with none of us breaking our heads," he said softly, and Julian’s eyes narrowed at this.

Astrid’s cheeks flushed. "Just ensuring the project’s success," she replied, seeing the soft complint thrown with taunting, she felt so happy.

Julian’s gaze lingered, as he clenched his fist.

"Thanks for not being greedy with his location," she appreciated.

Julian was surprised wondering how the heck their relationship was blooming so fast despite warning her the previous night.

As Rowan walked away, he turned back to Astrid with a charming smile.

"It’s my pleasure, Beauty. I will be expecting your call soon." His eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Astrid’s cheeks flushed, and she smiled back at him, waving goodbye.

Her eyes lingered on his retreating figure, a sense of excitent fluttering in her chest.

However, her warm feelings were short-lived. As she turned to Rowan, she noticed a dangerous glare directed at her.

"I asked you to stay away from him,’" Julian growled, his voice low and nacing.

Astrid shook her head and made her way to the car, recalling she was still not on good terms with Julian.

Julian’s scowl deepened, his eyes narrowing. He seed to be seething with jealousy.

anwhile, Ryan observed his boss’ deanor. He couldn’t help but feel pleased and intrigued by Astrid’s behavior as a small smile played on his lips.

Julian, oblivious to Ryan’s thoughts, took a deep breath. "’I must find ways to separate those two,’" he muttered to himself, his hands clenched in his pockets.

Ryan approached him, and Julian’s expression turned practical. "Ryan, get so edible food before we leave. She didn’t have breakfast this morning." His concern for Astrid was evident.

Ryan’s smile widened. "’On it, Boss.’" He nodded and turned to leave.

Julian called out again, "’Don’t tell her it’s from ." and this brought a smile to Ryan’s face,
