Chapter 45: FIRST PAYNT

They all walked out of the restaurant since they were done with their dinner.

These are the high class of the city and the press already got wind of them being there so they are already waiting for them outside.

"I believe everyone should go their separate ways to make things easier for us all, don’t you think?" Julian suggested.

"Astrid.." Maren called with a small smile and Astrid imdiately responded looking her way as the rest was already focused on the way to leave without the press disrupting them.

"You seem closer to Miles, can you talk to him to take

back to the mall?" She asked with an apologizing look on her face.

"I forgot to co with my car.." she added.

Astrid, who felt so excited with the lady before her, didn’t wait for a second to say yes even though she felt weird that Maren had asked her when she could just talk to him directly.

Astrid bobbed her head making a small signal sign and Maren stared at her weirdly.

Only then did she feel awkward and about dropping her hands when Maren did the sa.

"Is this going to be our little friendly gesture," Astrid shook her head.

"You don’t have to, it looks childish," Maren shook her head and did the sa.

"No... it’s fine with , we can just stick with it when we see ourselves again." Maren then retrieved Astrid’s phone from her hands.

She typed in her number and collected that of Astrid, only to find out it was private.

"This is Julian’s wife who would dare just have her details anyhow?" Maren thought.

"We can’t call each other, since I won’t be able to make the call but you.." Astrid was confused until Marem showed her what her number displayed.

"Oh," she replied, recalling Julian had given it to her.

"Do you have any social dia, I can reach you with?" She nodded her head and gave Maren her Instagram account.

"Wow... this is nice," She whispered, "Allow

to repay you," she said and then pulled Astrid with her before she could say a word.

She took a pic of both of them. "I followed you, make sure to follow back." Astrid eyes almost bulge out of the socket.

"Wh... why.... I am.." Again Marem placed her hands on her lips.

"Rember what I said?" Astrid stared at Maren speechless.

"You are a Logan... act like it... be it... even if it’s for a short ti, attain power and be confident, only then can you face this world." Astrid let out a small smile and then pulled Maren in for an embrace.

"Thanks a lot.." Astrid let out almost in tears, and Maren disengaged from it.

"You are my friend so it’s nothing," this had gotten the attention of Becky and she pulled out her phone and captured the mont.

"Allow !" Becky let out running toward them, as she snapped a group pic.

"Boys!" Becky called again and they strutted there with an eye roll as they all took several pictures.

When they were done, Maren stretched her card to Astrid.

"Rember I can still have you if you want." Julian’s eyes turned cold at this and she glanced back at Astrid.

"Also your details.." Astrid was confused at first. "Why?"

"Just give it to ," she replied.

Astrid quietly gave her account of details and then the next was her gasp as her eyes were glued to the screen of Maren’s phone when she showed her a receipt.

"Why... How?"

"I owe you, rember?" Astrid shook her head at this, though she couldn’t see it since her bank details hadn’t been bound to the number.

"I am not giving you but paying for your service, Julian has refused to give

your details."

"Wow... I also saw those ads. Sure you pay her enough?" Becky asked and they all smiled.

"I can help building.." Julian butted in before she could finish.

"She isn’t interested, thanks.." he pulled Astrid again, "It’s ti for everyone to go ho,"

"Miles?" Astrid called and Julian almost lost it, here he was holding her hands, and all she thought of was Miles.

"She didn’t bring her car, can you help

take her back?" Miles’s eyes widened at this and Astrid gave him the little puppy eyes.

"Hey.." he let out. "Fine, I will but you owe

one,"

"She is my wife... I can owe you.." Miles snorted and then bid them farewell along with Becky.

Julian took Astrid to the car helping her inside and they drove out easily before the press could tell they were the one.

They were still on their way when Julian noticed, the way she kept smiling at herself and this was getting him irritated already.

When he couldn’t take it anymore he needed to voice out, "What the heck are you smiling at?"

He had expected her to react to the rude response but she glanced at him still with a smile.

"It’s the first ti I have made that huge amount for a job I did," Julian squinted his gaze.

"Huge?"

"Yeah... Huge, I am not as wealthy as you," she responded in a flat tone, this got to Julian because he never ant to make her.

"But you live okay?"

"Yes, I do but I can’t land a perfect job. I am a high school dropper, because of the constant bullies. Happy now?" Julian was speechless.

"I am sorry if that sounds offensive," he apologized instantly.

The chauffeur was shocked that he had to stare at his boss from the rearview mirror but then t with his boss’s icy glare making him concentrate.

He hardly apologized, how co he did that with no second thought?

Astrid didn’t say a word and this made him filled with guilt, "Then can you be my secretary?" He announced.

Astrid glanced his way, having a weird gaze. "I will pay you double what she paid," Astrid’s eyes widened.

"What?"

"Tripled?" Astrid almost couldn’t breathe at this minute.

"Is it too small?" Julian asked again, "Yes!"

"What?"

"No, I an I will be your secretary!" she exclaid. Julian smiled at this.

"But you will need to be formal when you are in office, no using the wife title.." Astrid nodded her head.

"I won’t!" she let out excitedly and then Julian added.

"Deal... your work starts imdiately tomorrow."
