Chapter 245: SAVE

"I want to go to the funeral! I need to make her regret what she did. I want to laugh at her!" Mattie’s voice echoed all over the living room as she paced around looking crazy.

"Ma’am but the boss warned us not to allow you." one of the maids announced but she was having it, she glanced at her and slapped her making her hit the ground.

"Don’t you dare tell

what to do!" Mattie barked out.

Just then Stephan stepped inside, unknown to Mattie, his face darkened seeing how she wasn’t listening to them.

He grabbed Mattie’s arm, pulling her back. "What’s wrong with you?" he shouted. "You’re pregnant, for God’s sake! Do you want

to teach you a lesson the hard way?" The maid saw this as an opportunity to leave the living room imdiately.

Mattie’s laughter echoed through the air, a cold, mirthless sound. "Pregnant?" she repeated, her voice laced with scorn.

"You an the pregnancy I already took care of?" She laughed again, making Stephan’s grip loosen.

"I am not pregnant anymore, Stephan. I found out I was eight weeks long gone, and I took care of it."

Stephan’s face paled, his eyes wide with shock. Mattie’s gaze bore into his ridiculous look and she let out a victorious smile.

"I told you I will never be yours, Stephan," she let out.. " the only child I am willing to carry is that of Julian."

Stephan slumped back in his seat, his eyes fixed on Mattie’s face. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

"You...you aborted our child?" he stamred.

Mattie’s expression didn’t change. "I did what I had to do, it’s my body anyway," she said, her voice cold. "Your family is embarrassed of , what a joke." she scuffed.

"I wonder how your family will feel knowing you are the one that wants

not the other way round,"

Stephan’s face twisted in anger. "You bitch! You seem to forget I am the only one that wants you, stop being a pathetic little girl."

Mattie’s eyes flashed with anger. "I am not a little girl, Stephan," she said, her voice low and deadly. "And I am not pathetic. I am going to make sure you pay for what you’ve done to ."

Stephan snorted. "Pregnancy... you want

to have your child?" she leaned further with a smirk. "Fuck that wish, I destroyed it already for my career, and you can never get another from ." she clicked her tongue now folding her hands against her chest.

"You think my mother abandoned ? What a joke! She only made everyone believe that she was also there and had been secretly helping ." Stephan’s face creases upon hearing all these revelations.

"Even about your cruelty against , they know already and they are going to help with my divorce." Mattie ended.

Stephan took in a deep breath as he stared at the one he had always thought he loved. "Are you done talking?" Stephan asked and the smile on her face dissipated.

Stephan stood up, his eyes never leaving Mattie’s face. He walked over to the TV stand and pulled out a file.

"I think it’s ti you knew the truth," he said, his voice cold.

Mattie’s eyes narrowed as she took the file from Stephan. She opened it, her eyes scanning the contents. And then, her face went white.

"Wh.... What? This can’t be true!" she mumbled reading through it for the second ti.

The file was a contract, signed by the sa doctor who had perford her abortion.

However, the contract stated that the abortion had never taken place and would never take place. Mattie’s eyes widened in horror as she realized the truth. She had never aborted her baby. Stephan had lied to her.

Mattie’s eyes snapped up to Stephan’s face, her expression twisted in shock and anger. "You lied to , this can’t be! You don’t even know." she spat, her voice trembling with rage.

Stephan’s smile was cold and calculating. "I did what I had to do," he affird, shrugging his shoulders.

She was still in a state of disbelief, she turned and ran to her phone, dialing the doctor’s number.

He picked up after the third ring and her question followed, not giving him the chance to talk.

"Tell

you went through with the abortion?" she demanded in tears hoping he would say yes.

The doctor’s voice was hesitant. "I am so sorry, Mattie. I was paid to tell you that you had an abortion. But the truth is, you never did."

Mattie’s eyes widened in horror. "Who paid you?" she demanded.

The doctor’s voice was barely above a whisper. "Mr. Ray. He paid

to lie to you."

Mattie’s face went white with rage. She turned to Stephan, her eyes blazing with fury. "You’re going to pay for this," she spat, her voice trembling with rage, as her phone fell to the ground.

With a proud smile Stephan strolled toward her phone picking it up, "Make this be the last ti you receive a call from her." he said to the doctor who imdiately nodded his head, Stephan hung up now smashing the phone to the ground.

Mattie could only look down frustrated, she had done this in secret and even refused to say a word because she was making plans to leave Stephan.

"How did you know?" she mumbled. "How did you know I had left for the hospital?"

Stephan clicked his tongue at this, "I wouldn’t have known," he said, "but I helped soone in the past., that soone repaid

by keeping an eye on you."

Mattie’s eyes narrowed. "Who was it?" she demanded.

Stephan’s smile grew wider. "The enemy you taught how to beco scheming," he answered.

Mattie snickered, shaking her head. "It can’t be," she said. "It can’t be Astrid. She is a nice, innocent girl. How could she?"

Stephan’s smile faltered for a mont, and then he nodded. "Bingo," he said. "You guessed right, Mattie. Astrid was the one who helped ."

Mattie’s face contorted in shock and horror. "No, no, no," she yelled, her voice echoing through the room. "It can’t be Astrid, she doesn’t concern herself with !"

Stephan shrugged. "Well we changed her, Mattie," he said. "We pushed her to the limit. And now, she’s not the sa person anymore."

Mattie shaking moved toward him as she grabbed the collar of his shirt, "You’re a monster, you both are a monster!" she cried out.

"I am just a man who gets what he wants," he said. "And what I want is to make you pay for what you’ve done to

now, for playing with my heart.."

Mattie pushed him back with every force in her. "You will never get away with this," she barked out loudly.

Stephan shrugged. "Well we will see about that," he sat back on his chair pulling out his phone as he recalled how he had found out about her.

He was still going around with a series of etings and had not been in the hospital for a while when he received a ssage.

"I never plan to repay the money you spent on my mom when you paid her hospital bills." he wasn’t interested in the ssage at first on he saw the ID of the sender.

He was still confused when another ssage ca up and it was a ssage from Mattie in the hospital.

"Guess who is getting an abortion," He was shocked hearing this, he never thought Mattie would plan to do such.

"I paid my debt, my next help will be in exchange for your fortune," he was still smirking, going through the ssages until Mattie pulled the phone from him.

Mattie’s eyes fell on the ssage from Astrid, and her heart sank at this, this Astrid was no longer the Astrid she knew.

"I am not letting this go, Stephan,"

And with that, she smashed his phone to the ground. The screen shattered into a thousand pieces, and Mattie felt a surge of satisfaction.

But her satisfaction was short-lived. Stephan’s face twisted in anger, "How dare you destroy my phone having important information."

He pulled her by her hair, hitting her on the ground. Mattie felt a sharp pain in her abdon, and she knew that she was in trouble.

"You just made things worse for yourself," Stephan spat, his voice dripping with malice. "I am only trying to be the best husband for you, but you still don’t listen."

"A.. it hurt.." she mumbled her hands moving to her stomach, but Stephan didn’t care he pulled her up again slamming her face against the wall.

"Stephan! Please... please.." she pleaded, she scread in pain but his grip on her hair was tight.

"Your face is useless now anyway!" he yelled kicking her against the wall as she slipped down the ground.

"You are going to hurt the baby," she stuttered.

"You don’t want to be pregnant so I will help you.." He slamd her over the ground again, ti without number.

"Pl... please." She could hardly breathe, her eyes were becoming blurry, "Since you don’t love ... I should probably end you now." She looked up to see him raise a small plank ready to slam them on her.

She needed to save herself. She crawled away from it but it made an impact on her back.

She scread in pain, and all this while the maid was upstairs not knowing how to go save her.

"Your leg! I will destroy it!" He hit the chair continuously on her until the plank broke. He let go, angrily strutting to the bar space to cool off.

Mattie was so bloody, but she did not give up and she kept crawling to her real destination.

Finally, she got to the safe, she knew every one of his passwords so it was easy for her, she opened it and there it lay.

A pistol, she pulled it out with all the strength in her she pointed it at Stephan.

"Stephan! Say your last word!" she cried out, Stephan turned to her his eyes widened.

"Matti... what.." his words were cut short with how Mattie pulled the trigger.

"You bastard! Rot in hell!" she cried out, he stood still staring at her and the maid’s eyes widened.

Just then Maren dashed into the mansion, in shock seeing Mattie all bloody and Stephan also groaning in pain from the bullet of the pistol.

"Maren! Save !" Mattie cried out.
