Chapter 224: THEIR ARGUNT

Astrid woke up to the sound of bustling activity in the mansion. She stretched and yawned, wondering what was going on.

As she walked out of her bedroom, she was greeted by the mansion’s staff, who were busily cleaning and preparing for the day, leaving her confused.

Everyone stopped what they were doing the mont they set their eyes on her and greeted her with a respectful "Good morning, Madam."

Astrid was taken aback by the sudden formalities. She looked around, trying to take it all in.

She nodded her head slightly as she made her way to the living room, where she was t with another surprise.

Several guards in black suits were standing at attention, one at each corner of the room. While Julian was talking to one of them, he nodded at Astrid as she approached.

"Good morning," Julian said, as the guard he was talking to showed courtesy and left.

Julian glanced at Astrid, taking in her nightwear. "You might want to wear sothing decent. There are a lot of n in the house now," he said, pulling off his hoodie, and wearing it for her.

Astrid raised an eyebrow, wondering how many of Julian’s clothes were now in her mansion. "This is nightwear and it’s not too revealing," she argued as he wore it on her.

"You are wearing this," he let out firmly, Astrid shrugged. "I don’t care. Your ex-wore more revealing things than I do."

Julian’s eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer to Astrid. "I don’t care about my ex," he said, his voice low and possessive.

"I care about you, and what you wear. You’re not going to walk around here in front of all these n, wearing sothing that’s going to distract them from their job."

Astrid rolled her eyes. "Is this how it’s going to be? You’re dictating what I can and can’t wear?"

Julian’s eyes flashed with amusent. "Just for the anti, Astrid. Until we catch the person who attacked you and make sure you’re safe. Then you can go back to living your private life however you want. But for now, I need to know that you’re protected. And that ans dressing modestly around the guards."

Astrid sighed, feeling a bit frustrated not bothering to argue with him any longer.

Julian smiled, looking relieved as he watched his hoodie swallow her figure. "Good. Now, let’s get so breakfast. I am starving."

Just then, one of the maids ca over and announced that breakfast was ready. Julian nodded and offered Astrid his arm. "Shall we?"

Astrid took his arm, feeling a bit like a princess. She smiled up at Julian, who smiled back at her. As they walked to the dining room, Astrid couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Julian. He was going out of his way to protect her, and she appreciated it.

As they sat down to eat, Astrid noticed that the guards were standing outside the dining room, watching over them. She felt a bit safer knowing that they were there.

"So, Julian," she said, as they began to eat. "What’s the plan for today?"

Julian shrugged. "I am not sure yet. I need to talk to the guards and see if they have found out anything new."

As they finished breakfast, Julian stood up and pulled out his phone. "I need to make a few calls," he said.

Astrid nodded, feeling a bit more energized now that she had eaten, but she decided to take so dessert.

She goes through her phone to see what is going on and she sees how the Logan launching helps their stock, everyone keeps wishing her well while Mattie is canceled online.

She was still scrolling through when a ssage ca up, it was from Rowan.

"Hi, Astrid... how are you doing? Saw the news and have not been able to reach out to you." she smiled at this.

"Thanks, I am doing fine, I appreciate your concern." she let out heartedly and then another ssage ca up again.

"I managed to get the doctor in charge of your birth.." Astrid eyes widened as she read this.

"It’s a bit hard to reach her now, because of the news going on... we can go together when you are free to go out." Astrid nodded hastily as she tapped her finger tap so fast on her phone.

"I will let you know as soon as possible,"

Astrid was about to head back to her room to announce the news to Julian when she saw Julian making a call.

She walked up behind him, curiosity getting the better of her. That’s when she heard the na that made her blood boil," Mattie."

Her smile disappeared, Astrid’s eyes narrowed, and she snatched the phone out of Julian’s hand.

She put the phone to her ear, and Mattie’s voice ca through, sobbing and pleading with Julian to co and see her. Astrid’s eyes rolled in disgust. Didn’t Mattie know that Julian was taken?

Astrid’s voice was cold and detached as she spoke into the phone. "Didn’t your man teach you enough lessons for the last ti you visited mine!"

Mattie’s voice was shocked and angry on the other end of the line. "Why do you have Julian’s phone?"

Astrid broke into a mocking laughter, "I am with my man, of course. Doesn’t your man allow you access to his phone? Or is that just a privilege reserved for ?"

"You bitch! So you were the one who had told him? I will make you pay Astrid." Mattie’s anger boiled over, and she started abusing Astrid, calling her nas.

"Oh, please... I only told him to keep his girl moving around with a married man. How was I wrong about that?"

Mattie was about to respond, but Astrid cut her off. "And by the way, aren’t you married to Stephan now? Or can you just cheat on him with a married man whenever you feel like it? The next ti I see you anywhere near Julian, you will regret it."

Astrid slamd the phone down on Julian’s chest, she turned to leave, but Julian caught her arm, pulling her back.

"Astrid, why did you instigate Stephan and Mattie? Why did you tell him to hurt her?"

Astrid’s eyes twinkled with anger, and she pushed Julian away. "I am stupid for thinking you’re worth fighting for. I am done with this conversation."

She turned and ran off, leaving Julian standing alone.
