Chapter 210: THE CLIENT

Astrid stood in front of the mirror, her eyes fixed on her reflection as she processed the conversation she had just had with Maren with a big smile.

Maren had filled her in on all the details about Mattie’s desperate attempt to get back into the modeling world.

Astrid’s expression remained neutral, but inside, she felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that Mattie was finally getting a taste of her own dicine.

As she stood there, lost in thought, she heard a knock at the door. Before she could even respond, Julian pushed the door open and peeked his head in.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.

Astrid turned to face him, her expression still neutral, his word was also still echoing in her head. He had walked off after declaring his love for her so she would have her lunch and she also couldn’t help but think several tis about it.

"What is it?" she asked, her voice asured.

Julian stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "I wanted to talk to you about a potential business deal," he said, his eyes locked on hers.

Astrid raised an eyebrow, though she was happy he wanted to talk business with her but still irritated at the fact that he wanted to talk about his declaration of love.

"What kind of deal?" she asked, her voice still asured.

Julian walked over to the dresser, pulling out a folder filled with papers, and Astrid was left in confusion as to when he had put that in there.

"One of my clients is looking to build a custom ho, and he’s asked you to design it for him," he explained, his eyes scanning the papers.

Astrid walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge. "What does this have to do with you? You deal with jewelry," she stated.

Julian sat down beside her, his eyes locked on hers. "I was thinking that maybe you could help

with the design," he said, his voice low and gentle. "You have a great eye for detail, and I think you could help

create sothing special, as an architect, you also gained the client through

because you are my wife."

Astrid raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued. "What’s the client’s style like?" she asked, ignoring his last word.

Julian thought for a mont before responding. "From what I have gathered, he’s looking for sothing modern and sleek, with a touch of elegance," he said, his eyes scanning the papers.

Astrid nodded, her mind already racing with ideas. "I think I could help you with that," she said, her voice still asured.

Julian smiled, his eyes lighting up with excitent. "I was hoping you would say that," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I will send over the client’s information, and we can discuss the details further."

She was happy to be working with Julian, and she was eager to see where this project would take them, also delighted for him to give the full trust in her to bring this project.

But as they continued to talk, Astrid’s expression remained cold. She wasn’t ready to show Julian how she felt, not yet. She was still guarded, still protecting herself from getting hurt.

As they finished up their discussion, Julian stood up, and they heard the sound of the doorbell ringing.

She frowned, wondering who it could be. She wasn’t expecting anyone, and she certainly wasn’t in the mood for visitors.

"Weirdly, I had just found out I have a doorbell," she announced walking out of the room followed by Julian.

"The set of people I have with

just cos in with their unauthorized key."

Julian appeared in the doorway, a smile on his face. "I will get it, sit right there" he gestured to Astrid who was left perplexed at the fact that he just stopped her.

She watched as Julian walked over to the door, opening it to reveal three ladies and Ryan, who was carrying several boxes.

Astrid’s eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of the three ladies and Ryan, who were now standing in the living room, looking expectant.

"Who are these people?" Astrid asked, giving them a baffled look.

"They are the stylists and makeup artists I hired for you," Julian replied, his eyes sparkling with excitent.

Astrid’s confusion deepened. "Why would I need stylists and makeup artists?" she asked, her brow furrowed in puzzlent.

Julian smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Because we are going to a charity auction gala tonight, and I want you to look stunning," he said, his voice low and smooth.

Astrid’s eyes widened in surprise, and she felt a flutter in her chest. "Why do I need to go to a charity auction gala?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Julian’s expression turned serious, and he took a step closer to her. "You are my wife, Astrid," he said, his voice firm. "And as my wife, it’s expected that you will accompany

to these kinds of events."

Astrid felt a rush of emotions, and she couldn’t quite process what was happening.

"But... you are just telling , and I never give consent that I will be going to that kind of event with you," she argued even though she was excited to see he wanted her to be at the function with him.

"I just got you a client... want

to get him back," Astrid shook her head.

She shook, trying to compose herself, and turned to the stylists and makeup artists.

"I guess I have no choice but to get ready, then," she said, trying to sound nonchalant. Julian let out a victorious smile, and she glared back at him.

"We will talk about this later," she told him and glanced at the stylists.

"Let’s go up to my room," The stylists and makeup artists nodded, smiling, and tagged along with Astrid to her room.
