Chapter 156: FIGHTING FOR HER
Everyone glanced at where the sound ca from and there Julian stood looking majestic with the pistol still in his hands pointed to the roof.
"Julian..." Astrid called out, her voice trembling slightly.
Julian’s gaze swept over the room, his eyes lingering on Josh before returning to Astrid. "Mr Logan, why? How.."
With a slight smile, he fired the pistol again, this ti at the roof, causing so of the lights to flicker.
He then proceeded to shoot out the TV, the lamp by the side, and also the porcelain Vase.
Josh’s face turned beet red with rage as he watched his expensive belongings being destroyed.
"What the...?!" he exclaid, his voice rising in indignation.
Julian calmly placed the pistol back in his pocket and walked over to Astrid, who was still frozen in shock. He pulled her close, his eyes scanning her face to make sure she was unhard.
"Astrid, are you alright?" he asked softly.
Astrid nodded slowly, still looking stunned. "Y-yes," she stamred, still in shock that her husband possessed a pistol. She can’t help but wonder if he always has it with him all this while.
Josh, still fuming, stord over to Julian. "What brings you here?" he demanded. "And what’s with the pistol?"
Julian’s expression turned cold, his eyes glinting with anger. "I heard my wife ca here and was worried that you would do sothing crazy,"
He said, his voice dripping with disdain. "I want to have faith that you would behave yourselves, but I was over-worried and decided to show up."
He glared at Josh and the other two with guilty-looking faces. "But you proved
wrong. And then you dared to raise your hand to my wife?" He shook his head, his expression incredulous. "Sothing I wouldn’t approve of."
"Don’t I have the right to tell her off or talk badly to her when she does sothing wrong?" Josh argued.
Julian’s gaze turned icy, his eyes glinting with anger. "The last ti I checked, I don’t think she’s the kind of person you should be raising a hand to, especially now that she has the title of Logan added to her na."
Josh looked taken aback by Julian’s words, "And who are you to tell us what to do?" he sneered.
Julian’s smile was cold and calculating. "I am Astrid’s husband, and I will do whatever it takes to protect her."
"But she is my daughter," Josh argued."She is my wife," he said, his eyes glinting fiercely.
Josh’s face fell, and he took a step back, looking taken aback by Julian’s words.
"This is the last ti I will allow you to talk to her," Julian continued, his voice eerie. If this repeats itself, I won’t mind making you regret ever ssing with Logan."
Astrid was filled with gratitude towards Julian. No one had ever stood up for her like that before.
She felt a sense of safety and protection wash over her, and she knew that she was lucky to have Julian by her side.
"Let’s go," Julian said, his voice softening slightly as he looked at her.
Astrid nodded, and Julian pulled her out of the mansion as she glanced back at them with a victorious smile on her face.
When they reached their car, Larry smiled, "Larry took my car ho, I want to drive my wife ho," he announced.
Astrid was taken aback by this. Julian hardly ever drove himself, preferring to have Larry or one of his other n drive him instead. Now he planned to drive himself.
Julian opened the car door for her, and Astrid got in, trying to hide her smile from him. But Julian caught it, and his eyes sparkled with amusent as he got into the driver’s seat.
As they drive away from the mansion, Astrid feels grateful for Julian’s presence in her life. She knew that she was lucky to have him, even though he acts like a douchebag sotis.
The security guards at the gate watched as they drove away, delighted that Astrid had finally found soone who would treat her with the importance and respect she deserved.
As they drove away from the mansion, Julian was driving at full speed, his knuckles white as he gripped the steering wheel and this terrified Astrid.
"Hey, Julian calm down, we are going too fast," but he wouldn’t listen.
"Julian, please slow down," she said, her voice firm this ti.
But Julian didn’t respond. He just kept driving, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
Astrid tried again, her voice rising in concern. "Julian, what’s wrong with you? You’re going to get us killed!"
But Julian just kept driving, his anger and frustration boiling over.
Finally, Astrid yelled at him, her voice loud and clear. "Julian, stop the car! What’s wrong with you?"
Julian slamd on the brakes, and the car skidded to a stop on the side of the road. He turned to Astrid, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Are you crazy?" she asked in irritation.
"Why do you always take in pain?" he demanded, his voice rough and raw leaving her astounded since she wasn’t expecting that.
"I thought you had changed after a year. But I guess I was wrong."
Astrid didn’t know what to say, so she just looked at him, her eyes wide with confusion.
Julian’s expression softened slightly as he looked at her. "This isn’t the first ti I have walked in on you with your father," he said, his voice quieter now.
"I have seen the way he talks to you, the way he treats you. And I have seen the way you react, always calm and apologizing for sothing that’s not your fault."
Astrid felt a lump form in her throat as Julian’s words hit her. She didn’t know what to say, so she just looked away, her eyes welling up with tears.
Julian’s voice rose again, his anger and frustration boiling over. "Why can’t you report him to the cops? Why do you tolerate being hurt like this?"
Astrid kept looking away, her tears welling up in her eyes this ti.
Julian’s voice was like a whip, cracking through the air. "Is it because you’re so used to being abused that you think it’s normal?"
Astrid’s head snapped up, her eyes flashing with anger. "How dare you?"
"I am only ask.." but Julian’s words were left hanging as she opened the car door and got out, slamming it shut behind her.
