Chapter 110: FIGHTING BACK FOR HERSELF

"Dad! Mum! I am doing much better now, I can be discharged and I want to see Julian!" Mattie’s voice echoed through the hospital room, desperation lacing every word.

Zach’s left in frustration as his face reddened. "For goodness’ sake, listen to

and stop obsessing over him!" He grasped his forehead, exhaustion etched on his features.

Mattie’s response was imdiate and defiant. "Dad! You are not going to tell

what to do!" She yanked at her IV, ready to rip it out.

Miles swiftly intervened, his tired eyes filled with concern. He gently grasped Mattie’s wrists, holding her in place. "Let go of !" she cried out. "Don’t hurt yourself." Miles retorted.

Zach just wants to tell her to forget about Julian, but he knows his daughter’s predicant and how crazily she is in love with Julian.

Desmond had just called him and sent files of how his daughter exposed their secret project to one of their rivals, and with the crazy thing his daughter had done he was very sure Desmond wouldn’t want his son close to her again.

Mattie struggled against Miles’ grip, her voice rising to a frantic cry. "Let

go! Nobody cares about ! Let

be!" Tears stread down her face.

Miles’ grasp tightened, his voice cracking with emotion. "No, Mattie. I love you. I care so much about you. Stop putting yourself in harm’s way for him." He pulled her into a gentle embrace from behind.

Mattie’s resistance faltered, her sobs reducing. Miles continued, his voice soft and soothing. "Sorry, okay? I will find a better man for you."

But before he could finish, the door swung open, and Julian walked in.

Mattie’s eyes locked onto Julian, her face lighting up. "Julian! Babe!" She wrenched free from Miles’ grasp and wheeled toward Julian.

Julian’s expression softened as he squatted to her level and enveloped Mattie in a warm embrace. "Hey, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere."

As they held each other, Miles’ eyes t his dad, a mix of concern reflected in their gazes.

Zach shook his head, his voice barely above a whisper. "It’s going to be hard,"

Miles’ eyes dropped, his shoulders sagging in defeat. The hospital room fell silent, the only sound Mattie’s happy murmurs as she clung to Julian.

She embraced him tightly, placing her head on his shoulder, "Julian... they don’t want

to be with you, I hate them, I want to leave with you." she cried out.

Miles sighed and moved closer to them, "Sorry dear... you shouldn’t..."

"No, I am going ho with Julain, I will go with him," she let out, grabbing into his hand tightly.

Julian’s mind reeled as he grasped Mattie’s arms, his grip firm but gentle.

"Are you sure about coming to live with ? I have a wife now..." he trailed off, hesitation etched on his face.

Mattie’s eyes widened in shock, her voice trembling. "Wi... wife? You... you’re kidding, right? You love , how could you..." Her words faltered, confusion and pain written across her face.

Tonia rushed to her daughter’s side, snatching her from Julian’s grasp. "Did you get it now? I have always told you to get your mind off this bastard," she spat.

Miles placed a calming hand on his mother’s shoulder, shaking his head. His mum was crossing the line now, and he wasn’t happy about it.

"Julian, did you betray ?" Mattie’s voice cracked, her pain echoing through the room.

Julian exhaled sharply, his eyes pleading for understanding. "Aunt Tonia, I—"

Tonia’s gaze snapped to Julian, her expression fierce. "I won’t tolerate this constanpeading from you, go to your wife and leave my daughter alone!" Her voice rose, echoing off the hospital walls.

Tonia wanted him to leave, she is no longer in support of the relationship ever since Miles told her about her daughter cheating.

Zach and Miles stepped forward, their faces dark with anger. "Aunty, enough!"Julian’s voice remained calm, though his eyes flashed with irritation.

"I have done everything in my power to make this work positively. But if it’s going to be like this, I’m not sure I can proceed."

Mattie’s face contorted in rage "Julian!" she yelled, sprinting toward him as she managed to stand. Her hand swung back, ready to strike.

But Julian caught her wrists, his grip firm making her fall back but Miles was quick to intervene, as he pulled his sister back.

"What’s wrong with you?" He groaned.

"You deserve it! You bastard! You tricked ! You..." Mattie seethed, struggling against Miles’ hold. Her words dissolved into furious sobs.

Julian’s eyes t Mattie’s, pain and regret reflected in his gaze. He breathed deeply, then turned and stord out of the room.

There he t Stephan outside the room, "Are you going to let her go this ti?" Stephan asked and he walked past Steohan, not ready to talk until Stephan grabbed him, pulling him back.

"I am talking to you as her friend," Julian jabbed his hands off his shirt and was about to move further when his eyes t with Astrid.

She stopped on her track and as she sighted them, Stephan noticed his friend’s gaze and followed it until it landed on Astrid.

She blew out a rasp of air and then strutted toward them, "Why are you in the hospital?" Julian asked, trying to straighten his shirt.

"Mind your business," she shut him off and he shut his lip, "I should ask you that question," she added.

"I ca to visit Mattie," he answered and Stephan snorted at this, "Did you just answer a question of soone who had requested for you to mind your business?"

Astrid glanced at Stephan, "You are a doctor yet you butt into others’ talk, isn’t that disrespectful?"

Stephan was in shock as he stared at Astrid, "Did... are you talking to ?"

"No one else is a doctor here if I can recall," Stephan clenched his fist storming toward her but Julia was quick to stop him standing between them.

"Are you crazy? She is my wife.."Julain let out a stunned, he couldn’t imagine what Stephan was about to do and oddly he didn’t want to think about it.

"It isn’t his first ti raising a hand on a woman so I wouldn’t take this as a surprise," Astrid clamored.

Julian stared at Stephan whose eyes held guilt at what Astrid had said.

"What?"

Astrid eyed him and turned to leave but Julian grabbed her hands, "If you are going to your mum, she is no longer in her forr room."

"What? How can you change her room without informing ?" She asked, irritation clearly in her tone.

"This is part of the Logan empire, since she is your mum and you are a Logan, she is transferred to the rooms made for the Logan."

"She is a Logan?" They heard a faint voice ask from behind making them all glance in the direction of where Mattie was.

Astrid glanced at Mattie to see her in a wheelchair and her head wrapped in bandages.

She rolled her wheelchair down to where they both stood, "I heard wrong right?"

"Why act weirdly when you know what transpired," Astrid said and rolled her eyes and was about to leave but Julian’s grip was firm.

"Yes, Mattie she is my wife but we married accidentally, you knew it all but must have lost it because of your mory."

"mory?" Astrid asked, confused and Julian glanced at her, "Yeah, She lost her mory in the accident." Julian told Astrid who scoffed.

"Seriously?" Astrid asked, her heart breaking into more pieces. The both of them had planned to have a break but now that she lost her mory she was Juluan would be nice and close to Mattie once again.

"Astrid, don’t you think you should co visit her once in the hospital? Don’t you have a heart?" Tonia implored, and Astrid glanced behind her and made everyone confused.

"You aren’t talking to

are you?" Miles was left speechless at her question.

"You are such a disrespectful little sly whore"

Astrid smirked after this, "So you were expecting

to co to check out the person, who almost made

lose my life and couldn’t even apologize? Instead, her mother ca with a cop to take

to the station?"

Astrid paused, her smile awkward, as she moved closer to Tonia. "You want ," she repeated, pointing to herself, "To co check on her?"

"It’s okay Astri..." Before he could complete his word, Astrid yanked herself free from Julian’s grasp and slapped him across the face.

The sound echoed through the room, leaving everyone stunned.

Tonia’s eyes widened in shock. "Wow! You must have grown wings!" she let out.

Mattie’s gaze locked onto Julian, expecting a reaction. But he stood frozen, his expression unreadable.

"Yeah, I did... If you have any problem with that, then talk to your daughter, who pushed

off the limit," she replied.

Her eyes flashed down at Mattie, whose gaze held hatred burning in them

"Who knows if you’re fucking pretending to gain his favor," she added with a smirk as she turned to leave.

Mattie’s face contorted in rage. "You sly devil!" she burst out leaving her wheelchair and rushing toward Astrid.

She grasped Astrid’s arm, spinning her around. Mattie’s palm connected with Astrid’s face, shocking everyone.

But Astrid’s response was swift She slapped Mattie twice, her strength sending Mattie crashing to the ground.

"Touch a hair on

again," Astrid warned, her eyes blazing, "and I will show you what the real devil is."
