The hotel was located in the mountains and it was a two-hour drive from the city center. It wasn’t a convenient location so there were a supermarket and pharmacy at the hotel to provide essential daily necessities for the custors. Cheng Xia wore a black shirt with short sleeves, a mask, and a cap as he went downstairs to the pharmacy to buy cold dicine, anti-fever dicine, and an electronic thermoter. Then he took the elevator to the 20th floor.

It was 11 o’clock in the evening and he didn’t encounter any acquaintances in the elevator. Cheng Xia sighed with relief as he rang the doorbell for room 01 on the 20th floor.

Pei Shaoyan soon ca to open the door. He poked his head out, looked around, and saw no one in the corridor. He was relieved and told Cheng Xia in a low voice, “Cheng Xia, please take care of President Pei. I have sothing urgent at ho and need to go out to answer the phone.”

The subtext was: I won’t be a light bulb. The two of you talk slowly.

Cheng Xia thought, ‘Xiao Yan is an assistant yet he is finding an excuse to go out and answer the phone when President Pei is sick.’ It seed that Xiao Yan already knew about the relationship between Cheng Xia and President Pei so he wanted to get Cheng Xia alone with President Pei. Or was this what President Pei ant?

Cheng Xia understood and imdiately smiled at Xiao Yan. He nodded and said, “You go ahead. Rest assured, I will take care of him.”

The communication between the two people was still clear.

Pei Shaoyan turned and slipped away. His speed was as fast as a prisoner who had been detained for a long ti rushing out for so fresh air. In any case, his older brother was usually in good health. A small cold should be no problem. It was safe for him to give his older brother to Cheng Xia.

Cheng Xia entered the room.

President Pei lived in a suite with two bedrooms and a small study. At this ti, two laptops were placed side by side on the study table, both of which were turned off. There were a few clothes piled on the bed of one bedroom. These clothes looked like they belonged to Xiao Yan at first glance. Cheng Xia turned and walked to the other bedroom.

Pei Shaoze was lying down on the bed. The man wore a white bathrobe and frowned, looking very uncomfortable. President Pei was always tough yet he actually looked like this when he was sick. Cheng Xia was distressed and imdiately poured a glass of warm water. He reached out to help the other person up. “President Pei, drink so water.”

Pei Shaoze who was suffering from a headache noticed that soone was helping him and struggled to open his eyes.

The person in front of him seed a bit familiar? Pei Shaoze narrowed his eyes for a long ti before realizing that the person sitting on the bed looked a bit like Cheng Xia. He thought he was hallucinating and pressed hard against his temples. Then after a while, the figure in front of him beca clearer. It was indeed Cheng Xia.

The young man was looking at him with concern, clear eyes full of distress. “President Pei? How are you? Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

Pei Shaoze regained so consciousness and struggled to sit up. “Cheng Xia?”

Cheng Xia nodded. “Yes.”

Pei Shaoze frowned. “Why are you here? Where is Xiao Yan?”

Cheng Xia quietly explained. “Xiao Yan had sothing urgent with his family and went out to answer the phone. I ca to take care of you.”

Pei Shaoze understood as soon as he heard this. His younger brother thought he was really in love with Cheng Xia so he called Cheng Xia over. Pei Shaoze’s throat was dry like he had been smoking and his voice was hoarse when he spoke, “I’m fine. I just had cold air blown on in the air-conditioned room today and I caught a cold. Don’t worry.”

Cheng Xia spoke seriously. “Don’t act strongly if you’re sick. Drink a glass of water first and take the anti-fever dicine.”

Pei Shaoze, “?”

This was the first ti he heard Cheng Xia talking to him this way and Pei Shaoze couldn’t react for a while. This wasn’t like a subordinate talking to the boss or the respect of the younger generation toward an elder. It was the advice of a peer with a hint of ‘why aren’t you being obedient?’

Pei Shaoze was a bit dazed. In his eyes, Cheng Xia was like a child he raised. Cheng Xia obediently listened to him and slowly followed behind him. He was used to Cheng Xia looking at him with admiration and his title of ‘President Pei’ was also very respectful.

Then what happened today? Did he have a hallucination due to the cold and fever?

Cheng Xia saw President Pei remain silent and reached out his hand to test the temperature of Pei Shaoze’s forehead. He noticed it was very hot and took out the electronic thermoter he bought at the pharmacy to accurately take the temperature.

It was 38.5 degrees Celsius. It really was a fever. However, based on Cheng Xia’s experience with a fever, if the person was still conscious at this temperature then there was no need to bring them to the hospital. Anti-fever dicine and physical cooling could be done.

Cheng Xia softly suggested, “Take the dicine first, okay?”

He fed the pill to Pei Shaoze’s mouth and helped raise the warm water to Pei Shaoze’s lips.

Pei Shaoze was seldom sick as a child and he beca independent when he grew up. Every ti he was sick, he would endure it by himself. This was the first ti he was being taken care of like this. He felt weird but he still obediently took the pill.

Cheng Xia went to the bathroom and soaked a clean towel in cold water. He wrung out the water and walked back to the bed. He placed the cold towel on Pei Shaoze’s forehead and helped Pei Shaoze to sleep. “President Pei, lie down and have a good rest.”

Pei Shaoze was stiffly supported by him to lay down. Then he saw Cheng Xia sitting by the bed and gently arranging his hair. He had a fever and the blood in his body seed like it was boiling. Once Cheng Xia’s hand placed the cold towel on his forehead, it felt like drinking sothing in the hot sumr. The sweet and cold orange juice soothed the entire body.

Pei Shaoze closed his eyes and said hoarsely, “Thank you. I troubled you.”

Cheng Xia smiled. “What trouble? Last ti when I lost control of my pheromones, you took care of like this.”

Pei Shaoze rembered. At that ti, Cheng Xia’s pheromones were out of control and he had a fever all day after being injected with a powerful inhibitor. Pei Shaoze had taken care of Cheng Xia patiently. Now that he was sick, Cheng Xia was taking care of him patiently? This was what he got after planting the seedling?

Pei Shaoze was a very strong person and didn’t like to show his fragile side to others. In reality, every ti he was sick, he would just get up in the middle of the night to drink water and take dicine. He never thought that being taken care of would be like this. He didn’t have to do anything. He could just lay here and Cheng Xia would help him pour the water, change the cold compress towel and arrange his hair and quilt. It was very considerate. Pei Shaoze’s body was hard to bear but his heart inexplicably beca soft.

Cheng Xia helped him change the cold compress many tis and his body temperature dropped slightly. The anti-fever dicine was probably playing a role. Cheng Xia was relieved and softly asked, “Are you feeling any better?”

Pei Shaoze humd in response. He felt like his body was more relaxed and his drowsy mind gradually beca sober. This cold wasn’t serious at first but he overestimated his physical fitness and was blown by cold air for a whole day. Now that he was slightly better, Pei Shaoze took the initiative to say, “You can go back. I’m much better.”

Cheng Xia was silent for a mont before whispering, “No, what if you get a fever again in the middle of the night? I rember that I once caught a cold in the rain. My fever subsided but then it reoccurred in the middle of the night. My dad had to send to the hospital. So I can’t leave.”

Cheng Xia’s words made sense. Repeated fevers were indeed quite common. Pei Shaoze had experienced it before and he couldn’t refute it. He had to say, “If it appears again in the middle of the night, Xiao Yan will be here. There is no need for you to worry.”

Cheng Xia took out his phone and called Xiao Yan. It quickly connected and he asked softly, “Xiao Yan, are you done? Can you take care of President Pei tonight?”

The voice over the phone was very anxious. “Brother Cheng, it isn’t good. It’s a big problem! My brother was sent to the ergency room of the hospital for ergency treatnt. It’s the Ya’an People’s Hospital. The doctor said that family mbers have to sign docunts. My parents aren’t here and I have to go and see! Can you please take care of President Pei? Thank you!”

Then he hung up.

Pei Shaoze, “……”

This was lying with his eyes open. However, Pei Shaoze couldn’t tell Cheng Xia that the little bastard who took the opportunity to slip away was his own brother. Pei Shaoyan, this bastard would definitely go to the Internet cafe to play gas.

Cheng Xia heard this and turned to look at Pei Shaoze. “Xiao Yan’s family has an ergency. His brother was sent to the hospital and he has to go see.”

Pei Shaoze, “……”

His older brother was right here!

Pei Shaoze held his temples. The next mont, he heard Cheng Xia’s soft voice. “No, I will stay to take care of you tonight. Don’t worry, tomorrow morning I will leave the room early. No one will find out.”

The young man’s eyes were clear and soft. His expression was full of worry. Pei Shaoze intellectually knew that he didn’t need Cheng Xia to take care of him but emotionally, he suddenly beca a bit greedy for this warmth and he couldn’t help nodding.

Cheng Xia imdiately smiled. The pure smile on the young man’s face caused Pei Shaoze’s heart to jump slightly. He looked away uncomfortably and said calmly, “In fact, there is no need to make a fuss. My fever is gone and you really don’t need to worry.”

Cheng Xia earnestly refuted it. “If the illness is repeated at night and no one is around, it’s easy for an accident to occur with a high fever. I can only rest assured if I stay.”

Pei Shaoze was helpless. “Okay.”

Cheng Xia was a bit amused in his heart. Why was President Pei so awkward? Other alphas couldn’t wait to keep an oga by their side when sick. So shaless alphas even took advantage of this opportunity to act like a baby. anwhile, President Pei was so serious and insisted on him leaving. Was it because he was too prideful to show his weak side in front of Cheng Xia?

Cheng Xia gently held Pei Shaoze’s hand and whispered, “I’ll pour a glass of water for you.”

Pei Shaoze, “??”

His hand was a bit hot from the fever while Cheng Xia’s hand was cold. The mont his hand was held, Pei Shaoze was shocked. For so reason, his heartbeat seed to pause for a mont. By the ti he recovered, Cheng Xia had poured a glass of water and brought it to his hand.

Pei Shaoze drank the water and his dry throat felt much better.

The room gradually quieted down and Cheng Xia kept looking at him in a worried manner. Pei Shaoze was uncomfortable about being watched and simply closed his eyes. Perhaps the cold made his head a bit drowsy. He closed his eyes and actually fell asleep.

The next ti he woke up in a daze, it seed to be in the middle of the night. He saw Cheng Xia sitting next to the bed and helping apply a cold towel to his forehead. The two of them looked at each other for a mont before Cheng Xia smiled. “You have a fever again. Your temperature is 38 degrees which should be manageable.”

Pei Shaoze wanted to get up but was gently pressed back by Cheng Xia. “Don’t move. I’ll pour water for you.”

Pei Shaoze felt like his throat was burning, dry and itchy. Just then, a glass of water arrived at his lips. Pei Shaoze drank the whole glass of water in one breath and his mind beca sober. He frowned and asked in a low voice, “What ti is it?”

Cheng Xia answered, “3:30 a.m. Don’t worry. Sleep well and I’ll take care of you.”

Pei Shaoze didn’t know what was going on. Perhaps it was due to the illness that he beca emotional and his brain wasn’t as calm as usual. He woke up in the middle of the night and found Cheng Xia guarding him by his side. Cheng Xia also gave him a glass of water just as his throat was dry…

At that mont, he felt his entire heart softening. It felt good to have soone take care of him. He used to have to get up on his own to find water when he was sick. Today, Cheng Xia thoughtfully brought water to the bed. His head that was originally hot and uncomfortable was now cold and comfortable due to the cold compress.

Pei Shaoze couldn’t help reaching out to gently rub Cheng Xia’s head. “It’s so late and you aren’t asleep. Aren’t you sleepy?”

Cheng Xia smiled. “I’m not sleepy. I have to stay awake and take care of you.”

Pei Shaoze half opened the quilt and spoke in a hoarse voice. “You have to film tomorrow and can’t stay up late. Co up and get so sleep.”

He said it very naturally but Cheng Xia’s ears turned red when he heard it. An alpha inviting an oga to ‘co up and get so sleep’ was really deadly.

Pei Shaoze didn’t notice the shyness and blushing of the young man. He just felt that Cheng Xia stayed up for so long to take care of him. It was 3:30 a.m. and Cheng Xia still wasn’t asleep. Tomorrow, he would have no spirit and he might be scolded by the director. It was better to get a few hours of sleep.

Pei Shaoze saw that Cheng Xia didn’t respond and added, “Go to sleep. Don’t stay up late. I will call you again if I have a fever in the middle of the night and feel uncomfortable.”

Cheng Xia remained silent. Then he carefully climbed up onto the bed. He got into the other half of the bed and turned off the lamp beside the bed.

Soon, Pei Shaoze by his side breathed evenly and fell asleep again. The cold made his mind sluggish and he was more sleepy than usual. Cheng Xia couldn’t sleep well. After a while, he gently fumbled under the covers to find Pei Shaoze’s hand and secretly held it. He found that Pei Shaoze didn’t refuse and beca bolder. Cheng Xia moved closer to this person.

In his sleep, Pei Shaoze felt a body gently pressing against him. The body was cool and soft. It felt particularly comfortable pressing against him. He reached out and hugged the other person tightly in his arms.

The hugged Cheng Xia flushed and buried his head in the alpha’s chest. His eyelashes trembled slightly before he closed his eyes. His father told him to stay away from alphas but he couldn’t control himself. He wanted to get closer to Pei Shaoze.

Cheng Xia felt sweet in his heart about being held to sleep by President Pei. He closed his eyes in Pei Shaoze’s arms and had a beautiful dream.
