Chapter 440: 440 Darling
Chen Nian’s lips were pursed, unable to speak. Who warned her that Officer Yu would be so preoccupied? They spent less ti together and spent more ti apart.
Shen Yan and Chen Nian hadn’t seen each other in quite so ti. Chen Nian was resolute about not allowing Shen Yan to leave early this ti.
Shen Yan could only stand there and watch as Chen Nian sat drunk on the bar’s coffee table singing “Conquer” until it was past two a.m. Chen Nian had had enough and reluctantly said her goodbyes.
It was already half past two a.m. when Shen Yan arrived ho. She didn’t see the six calls from Fu Hang since the bar was too loud at the ti.
Shen Yan felt a little guilty as she looked at her phone’s missed calls. She didn’t respond directly because she thought it was too late. Instead, she sent Fu Hang a ssage.
Her phone imdiately rang after she delivered the ssage.
Shen Yan was taken aback when she saw the caller ID. She then took out her phone. “It’s already after midnight. How co you’re not sleeping?”
“You haven’t responded to my ssage, so I’m having trouble sleeping.”
Shen Yan felt sowhat guilty as she heard Fu Hang’s words. “Chen Nian drank too much just now and insisted on playing.” She continued, “We left because she couldn’t hold on any longer.”
“Okay.”
Fu Hang on the other side of the phone only responded lightly.
A hint of confusion flashed across Shen Yan’s eyes. She hesitated for a mont and asked, “Fu Hang, are you angry with ?”
“No.”
Hearing Fu Hang’s words, a few sentences ca to Shen Yan’s mind.
He expressed what he ant, but it wasn’t genuine.
It turned out that n could also say the direct opposite of how they felt.
Shen Yan remarked coquettishly from her bed, “I really didn’t an to not pick up your call. Don’t be angry, okay?”
“Okay.” Fu Hang’s voice was still a little stiff.
Shen Yan was a little taken aback. She imdiately rembered how often Fu Hang brushed her off like this when she was in the Fu family, and she felt anxious in her heart.
“Go take a shower and sleep, Yanyan.”
Fu Hang had already spoken before Shen Yan could recall what happened in the Fu family.
Shen Yan’s palm, which was holding the phone, clenched tightly when she heard Fu Hang’s kind voice. “Fu Hang, I...” she whispered gently.
“Darling, go take a shower!”
Shen Yan’s cheeks flushed instantly. She fought the impulse to put the phone down and quickly said, “Goodnight.” She couldn’t help herself and hung up the phone.
Darling.
The corners of Shen Yan’s mouth curled up as soon as she rembered Fu Hang calling her in such a serious tone. She had no desire to sleep.
It was past four o’clock when Shen Yan finished washing up and went to bed.
It was already beyond twelve o’clock the next day when she awoke.
Chen Nian’s call ca in after Shen Yan cleaned up and had lunch with Shen Kun and Jiang Jing.
“Are you awake, Yanyan?” Chen Nian said in a cautious tone.
Shen Yan imdiately knew sothing was up with her. Chen Nian’s tone indicated that she was aware that she had gotten herself into difficulty.
“Of course I’m awake. I’m eating right now. What went wrong with you? Did you cause trouble yesterday?” Shen Yan continued to eat while lowering her head. “Did you break Uncle Chen’s antiques?” she asked nonchalantly.
“How could that be?”
Chen Nian’s voice grew stronger.
“Then, why are you feeling guilty?” Shen Yan asked, raising her eyebrows slightly.
Chen Nian’s voice lowered guiltily. “How about going on the internet?”
Chen Nian hung up the phone without waiting for Shen Yan to speak.
Shen Yan ate while looking at her phone. The first few headlines on the trending searches were all about New Year’s Eve.
However, there was a post on the 19th trending post below that said, “Fu Hang failed to et his parents. Miss Shen was drunk in the middle of the night and hired a male prostitute.”
Shen Yan was taken aback when she saw the title. She clicked it and saw two images.
One of the images was of Fu Hang boarding the plane by himself.
The other image was of her speaking with Chen Nian’s cousin.
Chen Nian’s cousin was portrayed as a male prostitute in the article.
These authors dared to write rubbish in the first place. Were they not afraid that she’d file a lawsuit?
