Capítulo 1393: Chapter 539: Cosmic Truth Investigation Club

For Edwan, the arrival of that teacher Barry brought a strong sense of crisis.

Soon, Edwan received both good news and bad news.

The bad news is: Ming has made a new friend, and Ming’s interactions with teacher Barry have beco increasingly close. Within less than half a month, they’ve beco best buddies with no secrets between them.

The good news is: Edwan has also beco a good buddy with teacher Barry.

In the City of Light, ti accelerated by computing power always seems so cheap.

Six months flew by, and Daru, Kabuba, and Barry had beco inseparable companions.

In Edwan’s eyes, teacher Barry was an extrely excellent chanical Thought Body, witty, humorous, knowledgeable, often capable of saying things that provoked thinking in him and Yang Ming.

Before Edwan and Yang Ming t teacher Barry, life was monotonous and boring;

Training, patrolling, dealing with ergencies, eating and sleeping were all there was to daily life at the high-training base.

But after teacher Barry arrived, it was like they pushed open a window, and outside was the colorful ‘adult world’.

Fellow trainees and staff at the base were surprised to discover—that slightly balding new physical training instructor, Barry, along with Daru, the strongest and highest-performing trainee at the high-training base, as well as Kabuba, the most popular, seed to have beco conjoined twins, gathering together whenever they had free ti.

The three of them would secretly drink in the training base cafeteria, roam about in areas strictly forbidden for trainees.

They would play stickball on the rooftop of the base, chase each other in dormitory corridors, and lead more than ten trainees into a water gun battle.

They even once played so restricted films on the big screen in the office while the high-training base managent was having a eting, the protagonists often being staff mbers each with their own family.

Occasionally, they would appear simultaneously in the frontline combat areas full of crises;

At such monts, teacher Barry would showcase his various little inventions, testing their practical combat effectiveness; Daru and Kabuba, the two best trainees, would rely on these unstable inventions to battle mutated monsters for hundreds of rounds.

When Daru and Kabuba returned victorious, teacher Barry would launch an ‘arm-around-shoulder’ offensive on them, then take selfies to post on his social dia.

Picture na: “The Three of Us”.

Despite the vast age difference, the three of them remarkably have no topics off-limits.

Of course, unseen by others, they were not only eating, drinking, and having fun.

As the instructor at the base, Barry openly gave Daru and Kabuba backdoor privileges.

For instance, Barry submitted an application to his superiors and obtained valuable ‘ability evolution injections’, and soon arranged for Daru to complete his first ability awakening.

Also, Daru and Kabuba simultaneously swapped dorms, again arranged by Barry who set them together in a dorm equipped with an old dostic robot.

Of course, with their abilities, Daru and Kabuba were deserving of this special treatnt.

That afternoon.

Yang Ming-Daru, Edwan-Kabuba, lay on the slightly sloped lawn outside the training field, gazing at the simulated blue sky and white clouds.

For their current stage in life, nothing was better than skipping an unimportant culture class, hiding on the grassy edge of the training field to bask in the sun.

“Daru.”

Edwan-Kabuba turned to his side, propping his face to ask:

“Do you feel that these last six months have been much more relaxed?”

Yang Ming closed his eyes, savoring the warm breeze, and gently exhaled.

“Isn’t it good to relax a bit? Our speed of improvent hasn’t slowed down; it’s actually sped up.”

“But,” Edwan-Kabuba said, “Why does teacher Barry help us so much? Just because the three of us get along well?”

“I’ve thought about this too,” said Yang Ming, “There’s no such thing as helping without cause, unless it’s rely a trifling matter from the other person’s perspective.”

“Hey! Daru, what do you think!”

Edwan-Kabuba laughed:

“What if we find a companion for teacher Barry?

“Didn’t he say yesterday he wants us to form so… cosmic truth investigation society?

“If we really establish this society, couldn’t we recruit a few beautiful, mature female teachers?”

Yang Ming chuckled: “Seems like your soul longing for mature won has awoken? Truth investigation society? In this world, where is there truth.”

Edwan-Kabuba blinked: “Don’t say such things too often, it could be dangerous.”

Yang Ming froze.

He turned to look at Edwan-Kabuba, who had already lain back with arms as pillows, humming a cheerful tune with closed eyes.

‘This guy…’

Yang Ming frowned slightly.

Was he overthinking it?

Why did Kabuba’s tone feel, for a mont, eerily similar to that of an old acquaintance.

“Kabuba, you…”

“Ahahaha!”

A sudden burst of laughter ca from nearby, a middle-aged uncle clad in a white coat and shorts, flip-flopping in slippers, jumped out from behind a projection sculpture, holding up a sign in his hand.

“Co look! I’m ready!”

Yang Ming and Edwan simultaneously raised their heads to look.

On the sign, a crooked line of colorful text read:

[Cosmic Truth Investigation Society].

The edges of the text decorated with flashing colored lights, making Yang Ming’s eyes blur a bit.
