Capítulo 1391: Chapter 538: Old Fox
“Nice to et you, Barry.”
The middle-aged man played by Levi Sherman extended his right hand to Yang Ming with a smile.
Boss Yang clearly hesitated for a mont but still shook hands with the newly arrived physical training instructor.
There was really no need for such pleasantries; it was just a simple working relationship, one teaching, the other learning. Besides, Yang Ming didn’t feel that the current physical training instructor could teach him any new tricks.
What Yang Ming was looking forward to now was the ability rating test.
He was confident that he could secure at least an Lv36 rating.
“Hello,” Yang Ming still shook hands with this middle-aged man, “Daru.”
“I know you.”
Levi Sherman said with a smile:
“You’re the strongest trainee in this base right now. They introduced you to by comparing you to a sharp sword, a dagger. Whenever you’re on an active mission, they always feel very reassured.
“By the way, Daru, have you… not got a girlfriend?”
The two of them looked toward a bench not far away.
Two young people were engrossed in each other.
When the feelings are intense, they don’t care if anyone is around.
“They really enjoy it,” Levi Sherman looked on with a tinge of yearning in his eyes.
Yang Ming asked, “Sir, do you have anything else? If not, I’ll head to the dining hall.”
“Ah, yes, I’m going too,” Levi Sherman took a card from his jacket pocket and said with a smile, “I like talking to excellent people. It gives a lot of inspiration… Can you show around this base? Will it take up your free ti?”
“Of course not, please follow this way.”
Yang Ming wasn’t overly friendly, leading the new teacher toward the third dining hall.
Along the way, they passed many young trainees and instructors and staff from the high-training base. Yang Ming maintained a sense of distance from others, while Levi Sherman, now known as Barry, warmly greeted those he’d only t once before.
Upon entering the dining hall, Yang Ming accelerated slightly, increasing the distance between himself and the teacher in the queue.
But he hadn’t taken two bites before he saw, out of the corner of his eye, the teacher carrying two large trays, heading straight toward him.
Boss Yang felt a bit uneasy inside.
Was this guy’s behavior a little suspicious?
On the other side, Barry, played by Levi Sherman, seed very relaxed but was also internally conflicted.
Just as reason suggested, this young man was overly vigilant.
Judging by the flow of virtual ti here, the other party had already been in the City of Light for five or six years, yet could remain constantly alert, indirectly demonstrating his willpower.
Levi Sherman clearly understood:
The teacher identity only allowed him closer contact with the other party;
If, during this exchange, he couldn’t establish a friendship with the other party, stimulate his points of interest, subsequent communications would be very difficult.
Being too deliberate would easily reveal flaws.
So he must now think clearly about what topic to discuss.
The choice of topic was crucial.
‘How about discussing politics? No guy can resist political topics.’
‘Oh, he couldn’t possibly be interested in the political landscape of the City of Light, he’s here to assassinate Levi, aning to eliminate … Oh, right, eliminate , he wants to eliminate Levi Sherman, perhaps a topic in this area might spark his interest.’
Levi Sherman paused, naturally sat across from Yang Ming, and said with a smile: “Daru, you sure run fast.”
Yang Ming sowhat missed the ‘annoying’ Kabuba from the missions.
If Kabuba were here, he wouldn’t allow anyone to sit across from him, especially during als.
“Just walked a couple of steps and couldn’t find the teacher,” Yang Ming said with a smile, “I thought, the teacher is already a mature middle-aged man, so I wasn’t worried about how you’d get your food.”
“A very wise young man.”
Levi Sherman laughed, grabbing sothing resembling grilled shrimp, and started eating with relish.
His manner was sowhat carefree, yet didn’t offend.
“Daru, I actually have sothing to trouble you with.”
Levi Sherman initiated his first round of tactics:
“Besides the teaching assignnt, I actually have a scientific research task.”
“Research task?” Yang Ming was sowhat confused.
Levi Sherman smiled and said: “I’m involved in so confidential research projects. I can tell you clearly, the reason I was transferred here is because they want to observe you, recording your growth data.”
Yang Ming’s internal alertness gauge was almost maxed out: “Why?”
“Your ability has improved too rapidly, to an unusual degree, Daru.”
Levi Sherman glanced around, speaking softly:
“When I was reviewing your data, I actually noticed that you have been training diligently, utilizing all your spare ti to improve yourself in every way possible.
“But until now, you haven’t completed a single ability awakening, yet you probably already have the power equivalent to Lv35, which we find unbelievable.
“Moreover, Daru, I must ask you a question.”
“Go ahead,” Yang Ming leisurely continued eating.
Levi Sherman asked: “Why are you working so hard? I an, we can’t analyze your behavior’s motivation.”
Yang Ming continued eating in silence for a while.
Levi Sherman’s thoughts raced internally: “It’s okay, if this touches on sothing you don’t want to recall, we don’t have to discuss it right now.”
