Chapter 589: 255 Disputes and Differences_2

“Who gave you this information?”

“The queen,” Hera looked up at Yang Ming, “She communicated briefly with

using the network between the Insect Swarm when she left.”

Yang Ming blinked, “The Sixth Rank queen?”

“Yes,” Hera held her cup and took another sip, having cald down, she began to explain quickly.

A group of the Space Worm Clan was led by a queen, using microorganisms from the microscopic world for interdinsional communication, which was their basis for dinsional ascension.

Through these microorganisms, the Swarm could instantly communicate, and the insects gathered around the queen.

Between groups, a higher-level network ford, and the strongest, most evolved queen among them beca the administrator of this network.

Hera had previously attempted a series of controls over the insects, which caused the microorganisms residing within her body to undergo a mutation.

The relationship between Insect Race individuals and these microorganisms wasn’t parasitic, but rather symbiotic.

Hera said, “Now, within this network, I am like a lone queen without offspring; she allowed my existence, which is why I can continue existing.”

Yang Ming reminded, “We have a biological shielding device.”

“Yes, as long as I activate this shielding device, the queen won’t be able to sense my exact location, and this connection would be severed.”

Hera smiled bitterly,

“But during my research, I often left the device or needed to deactivate it intentionally because I needed this connection with the insects.

“The queen should have already marked your Dark Star Base Two.”

Yang Ming:…

“That’s fine; that base can be relocated imdiately.”

Yang Ming asked slowly,

“Hera, the problem now is how did the queen know your father and Professor Pat are dead?”

“Don’t you understand, Ming?”

Hera smiled bitterly,

“There was no inducent experint; Professor Pat made no breakthrough! Why would the New Federation achieve a breakthrough with those insect eggs only under Professor Pat? Professor Pat thought he found the right path, but behind that path was an unseen force pushing it!”

“What do you an?” Yang Ming was almost confused too.

“It was the highest-ranked queen within the Galaxy who engineered everything; the New Federation’s laboratory beca her tool for rapidly breeding the Swarm.

“Without her permission, no queen could complete differentiation. The Insect Race has a strict hierarchy, each Swarm exists to allow the queen to reach the brink of dinsional ascension and then leap into a higher dinsional space.

“Why do insect plagues erupt periodically? Because higher-dinsional Swarms are migrating and seeding between high and low dinsions!

“Pat’s and my father’s work was aningless! They were rely tools used by the queen to accelerate Swarm reproduction, thinking themselves clever but rely tools!”

Yang Ming was utterly shocked.

But he quickly cald down, carefully sorting through the logic of Hera’s words.

The possibility… was genuinely quite high.

“Do you have any evidence?”

“The highest-ranked current dinsional queen had been watching them; isn’t that direct evidence?”

Hera whispered,

“The queen was furious because the low and Middle Rank Swarms were harvested frequently, which destroyed her plans.

“This is a war between groups, and Pat and Nardo were just pitiful traitors, thinking they had everything under control, but they were just pitiful humans used by the high-rank Swarm!”

Yang Ming raised a hand to cover his forehead.

Now it was his turn to think and be silent.

Yang Ming understood why Hera’s emotions suddenly collapsed.

Hera suddenly said, “Ming, I want to find and talk to this queen.”

Yang Ming frowned tightly, “Is it the kind of talk I think it is?”

“Yes,” Hera’s gaze had returned to its usual determination, “Can you provide

with a ship capable of long-range travel and so chanical Thought Body assistants? I can’t guarantee the ship’s safe return, but I know the chanical Thought Body can resurrect through rollback.”

“You want to find this queen?”

“To the edge of the Milky Way.”

“What can you achieve?”

“I must understand the Insect Race, thoroughly dissect their social relations, and investigate why they are humanity’s enemies. I must continue the experints, going another way with my thods.”

Hera slowly stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.

Her tailored spacesuit outlined her graceful figure, and she lifted her right hand, fingers gently pressing against the specially thick glass, staring blankly into the depths of space.

“I want to find the lost aning and value of my father.”

“Ming, do you understand ?”

Yang Ming spread his hands, “Sorry, I don’t.”

“Why?”

“No need to discuss this any further,” Yang Ming said softly, “Hera, I know you don’t care about your own life, and of course, I wouldn’t mind losing a ship, but I feel you’re enchanted now, unable to think calmly.”

Hera turned to look at Yang Ming.

She bit her lip, “I’m sober.”

“You’ve been influenced by the queen.”

“When you’re near , the microorganisms’ activity is almost zero.”

“The human mind cos from the construction of neural circuits; a powerful individual can imprint on a fragile one, influencing basic thought,” Yang Ming said calmly, “I think we’re not suitable to continue this conversation. Take a few days to calm down.”

He turned to leave, then turned back,

“I’m sorry about your father’s death. I’ll have soone thoroughly investigate this and give you an accurate answer.

“Are you still human, Hera?”

Hera watched his back, wanting to call him to stay, but eventually just bit her lips, lowered her head, and sat back on her sofa.

On the small transport ship heading toward Ilando Star’s surface,

Yang Ming looked at himself in the projection mirror; now covered with bandages, he had regained the face of a Count Wind officer.

Hera’s words swirled endlessly in Yang Ming’s ears, causing him so irritation.

“Boss, it’s been uncovered.”

Lyu’s voice suddenly ca through the hidden earpiece,

“The New Federation CIA blocked the information, but piecing together so scattered details, the event’s true nature has erged. Professor Pat committed suicide and killed Nardo before his suicide.”

Yang Ming frowned slightly, “Professor Pat killed Nardo? Nardo himself had no suicidal tendencies?”

“Yes, boss.”

“Don’t tell Hera about this; change the investigation result to… say the two top biologists committed suicide together out of guilt, just tell Hera.”

“Okay,” Lyu chuckled softly, “Miss Hera’s request, we can indeed fulfill it easily.”

“Send her to her death?”

Yang Ming’s voice suddenly rose,

“Even though she is not my girlfriend anymore, she was once mine! Can I just watch her go to her death?”

“Her quest to investigate the queen might not be a death sentence,” Lyu said softly, “Miss Hera always wanted to achieve mutual understanding with the insects.”

“That’s wishful thinking, a typical saint’s heart overflowing!”

Yang Ming snorted,

“The conflict between the Space Worm Clan and humans is top-down; the minerals we need are their food. The Milky Way is vast but can’t accommodate two species that want endless reproduction!

“Mutual understanding, if the queen’s combat power was proportional to her bosom, humans would have been wiped out by the insects by now.

“If not for the Empire’s super defense fortress, she would have brought the Swarm straight to Emperor Star, dealing a heavy blow to human civilization in the Milky Way.

“Don’t even ntion it; keep an eye on her.”

“What if Miss Hera insists?”

“Detain her; she doesn’t have to do any research but can’t have the opportunity to leak our secrets,” Yang Ming cursed with a dark face, “Every day, why does soone always want to reconcile with the enemy? What about blood feuds? If needed, bring her to , I’ll pursue her again, let love cloud her judgnt.”

Lyu laughed endlessly at the side.

“Boss, His Majesty Edwan sent a communication invitation.”

Yang Ming took a deep breath, letting his usual slightly lazy expression return.
