“Hand over Captain Hanton, he’s been listed as your number one target, the final masterpiece of Professor Kigrov, right? Doctor Lina, this information, it was actually leaked by one of your superiors.”

“Hanton’s dead.”

Lina whispered, “Just now, I can provide you with proof.”

“Oh, you killed him?” The Imperial Captain’s voice grew deeper, “The surface wounds were your doing, weren’t they? You fired on an Imperial soldier.”

“I did not directly kill Hanton; he was a precious specin I wanted to obtain,” Lina said, “He got caught up in a piracy dispute.”

“So you wanted to destroy his last biological information? Desecrate his body?”

...

It seed the Imperial Captain had seen the video, his voice tinged with anger, “Oh! Even though he was just a captain! But he was the Empire’s captain! And you blasted him twice with the main cannon!”

Lina’s side remained silent, but the main engine had already started, the smooth curved surface once again pockmarked.

“You are the ones declaring war on the Empire.”

The Imperial Captain said coldly, “You orchestrated all of this, attempting to steal treasures that rightfully belong to the Empire… No more words are needed, destroy them.”

Lina stated resolutely, “You will bear the consequences of declaring war! This is a barbaric and shaless act of war!”

The Imperial side maintained silence.

Zzzt!

The ships of the Guel Alliance cut off communication.

Yang Ming crawled forward, his eyes fixed on the two battleships facing off.

The Imperial side did not turn off their communication devices, continuing to broadcast the Captain’s steady breathing and calm reports from various quarters over an open frequency.

The Dawn-level Light Battlecruiser released a dense cloud of dust, like a squid squirting ink. All energy was poured into the protective shield, giving it an added halo of light.

The Alliance’s ship was trying to escape the planet’s gravitational pull.

The Imperial Dreadnought did not pursue.

It released waves imperceptible to the naked eye, the exaggerated and fearso Main Cannon, already lit up in part.

The Imperial Captain said in a low voice, “Ah, Kigrov was too stubborn. He’s been my friend for twenty years, and his experints have produced not a single sample or piece of data, even though it’s said he was close to success, creating a powerful individual combat unit.”

“But, General, the experint ultimately failed, we didn’t gain anything,” a clear female voice asked, “Do we really need to attack the Guel Alliance’s ships directly? They are the fourth largest force in the Milky Way; this will probably create significant diplomatic pressure.”

“Your Highness,” the Captain laughed, “Would the Guel Alliance go to war with us over a light battlecruiser?”

“No,” the female voice said, “They don’t have the capacity to contend with the Empire’s mighty legions.”

“So what do we have to worry about?”

The Captain said slowly,

“We must warn those who like to play their little gas, the value of this battleship is enough to make them hurt. I can assure you, Your Highness, tomorrow they will say their invincible ship encountered a mysterious Gamma-ray burst.”

A technician shouted, “Main Cannon fully charged!”

“Take it down.”

The Dreadnought went quiet for three seconds.

Most of the lights on the ship went out simultaneously, the massive vessel shuddering slightly and steadily. A beam of deep red high-energy ions brutally dispersed the thick dust cloud in front, enveloping the entire battleship.

Seconds later, the protective shield lted.

Microseconds later, the ship disintegrated.

Yang Ming seed to see the female doctor, her skin and bones lting in the barrage of ion strikes.

As the deep red beams gradually faded, the Dawn-level Battleship began to explode violently, the resulting brightness even briefly overshadowing the constant stars.

“Quite beautiful, isn’t it, Your Highness?”

The Imperial Captain said warmly,

“You must understand, weakness and concession only make you a target for hyenas. Having the resolve to fight at any mont is what makes the weak understand their place.

“A single experintal specin is not worth our anger, but we must maintain the dignity of the Empire. This is a warning to the Guel Alliance, to reconsider the consequences of advancing or retreating with the New Federation.

“There is no balance among the galaxies.”

Chirp!

Kolev voluntarily shut off his receiver, his face deathly pale as he asked in a low voice, “Will they find us? They…”

Yang Ming just lay there, quietly watching the scene unfold, his silence filled with reflection.

“Don’t worry.”

Yang Ming’s voice hesitated, then he said softly, “The Dreadnought’s target isn’t .”
