Chapter 38: 028 Kolev’s Secret Garden

They certainly weren’t heading straight for the Administrative Star of the Cas Federation.

A normal Administrative Star has a comprehensive defense system surrounding the planet.

This colony was rely a coordinate, a lighthouse, guiding them to the real secret base.

— An abandoned Resource Star in the sa Constant Star System as the Administrative Star.

While Kolev was explaining the various operations of the spaceship to Yang Ming, he skillfully avoided several sluggish patrol ships, evaded the mostly deserted defense detectors, and entered the synchronous orbit of that Resource Star.

After confirming there were no abnormalities, the pirate ship slipped into the thin atmosphere of the Resource Star.

...

The planet was like a regular chunk of ice. — It was on the outer edge of the habitable zone of the Constant Star System, receiving relatively less heat from the Constant Star.

Looking down, Yang Ming saw a blanket of white.

“There’s plenty of fresh water here, it’s just the atmosphere is rather thin.”

Kolev said with a smile:

“This planet wasn’t originally here, it seems to have been dragged over during the last civilization epoch, to serve as a companion to the neighboring planet. However, its resources have already been drained, with only so huge hollows left beneath the ice plains.

“The neighboring planet is also quite interesting, it also holds quite a few of my assets. Due to the urgency this ti, I won’t take you for a visit.”

Yang Ming yawned. To him, the operational buttons seed like a school of little fish, relentlessly attacking his retina.

He felt it was necessary to get a shot of Genetic Stabilization Liquid later.

Learning in class was more anxiety-inducing than brawling.

“How long are we staying here?” asked Yang Ming.

“We’ve brought enough supplies; even living here for three years wouldn’t be an issue,” Kolev laughed, “but I can’t make Kimo wait too long. We’ll probably stay for three months to lay low before we leave.”

Mimili asked, “Dad, is there anything I can do?”

“Just be happy, my child,” Kolev laughed, “all you need to do is enjoy everything here. This is the fortress I’ve designed for the two of us over ten years; you’ll definitely be surprised later! Guess what I used? This is a small part of the wealth I’ve accumulated over half my lifeti.”

Yang Ming was imdiately filled with anticipation.

— Anticipation for that portion of the pirate’s wealth.

The pirate ship slowly approached a fishbone-like ridge, and Kolev expertly maneuvered it into a hardly detectable canyon, with Yang Ming and the others being instructed to don bulky planetary exploration suits.

When the old sailors wanted to move supplies, Kolev just waved his hand: “Don’t worry about those, follow ! There are plenty of tireless laborers here!”

The group left the pirate ship and slowly made their way down to the bottom of the canyon along the ridge.

Kolev stopped in front of a cliff that looked as if it was cut by a knife, fiddled with sothing for a while, and suddenly a two-by-three ter projection screen appeared in front of him.

It was an interface displaying various surveillance feeds.

Peering over, Yang Ming marvelled: “It’s much more spacious inside than on the ship.”

“Ha ha! Hanton! You’re wondering what I’ve been up to here, aren’t you?” Kolev said excitedly.

“I’m not.”

“No! Just say you are! My dear Hanton, my first officer, I can give you administrative privileges equal to my daughter’s!”

“The scenery here is really nice.”

Yang Ming calmly looked toward the sky filled with auroras.

Mimili, standing nearby, couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

After triple-checking that the base hadn’t been invaded, Kolev waited a few more minutes before finally opening the base’s main door.

With a rumble, two camouflaged ice layers slowly shifted, revealing a sloped passageway leading downward.

Kolev and Yang Ming led the way, the others lined up in a row and proceeded down at a gentle pace. After passing through several ‘lock’ structure-like rooms, they finally entered the wide front hall of the base, reminiscent of a large carrier’s hangar.

Kolev’s long-planned performance officially began.

Two rows of robots of various shapes lined up neatly, bowed elegantly with their differently designed and sized bodies, then in more than fifty different electronic synthesized voices, they called out:

“Welco ho, Master.”

Yang Ming took an interested look at these low-intelligence machines.

Nearly half of them were maid and butler type intelligent machines, others were engineering types, still carrying debris and dust on their tracks, which indicated they had been in operation for a considerable amount of ti.

Kolev’s band of old mates was completely astounded.

“Molly!” Kolev bellowed, “Get out here and greet the guests! Where have you died off to, Molly!”

“I’m here, Master.”

Chilly synthesized tones suddenly rang out as intersecting beams of light from the corners created a holographic projection in front of Kolev.

It was a virtual character whose appearance was sowhat contradictory.

She wore a professional suit and stockings, with a pair of red high heels, but her round little face was as youthful as a girl’s, and she wore rectangular glasses.

Yang Ming said with a smile, “Kolev, you’ve exposed your own preferences.”

“Guest, please do not slander my master.”

Molly — the virtual image — spoke earnestly, her voice seeming to co directly from her mouth:

“When Master set my appearance for the first ti, his hormone levels were insufficient to allow him any such interests. He’s old enough.”

“Molly! Shut up!” Kolev removed his exploration suit helt and cursed through his teeth.

Molly softly said, “Very well, Master, I deeply regret any embarrassnt I’ve caused you with my montary honesty.”

“Reduce your sarcasm index by twenty percent, your nagging index by fifty percent, and your humor index by fifty percent! Damn it! Why did I give you so many boring paraters!”
