Chapter 287: 143 High Stakes Gamble

Yang Ming was groggily awakened by Lyu.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the constant star outside the floor-to-ceiling window, and Hera, sitting cross-legged at the desk in just a loose shirt, engrossed in writing.

“Boss!”

Lyu’s voice had a trace of excitent.

Hera turned her head to look at Yang Ming and pointed to the simple breakfast on the small round table nearby.

If that blackened bread could be considered breakfast.

Yang Ming put on the earpiece in his left ear and whispered,

“What is it? The last ti you were this excited was when completing the 026 spinal modification surgery.”

Lyu quickly said, “Boss, look at this!”

A projection screen imdiately popped up in front of him, showing several images.

A large transportation ship was entering the atmosphere, with a faint layer of fire appearing outside the protective shield.

This place is…

Dammit!

My Dark Star has been discovered!?

Yang Ming was stunned for over ten seconds, then burst into laughter.

Could they play like this?

“Lyu, the place they chose to plant the eggs, is it our secret base?”

“Yes, boss!”

Lyu’s virtual image appeared in the corner of the projection screen,

“In a sense, there’s less than a one percent chance, given how many uninhabited planets the Luofeng Empire has.

“But in another sense, there is roughly a seven percent chance that the factors they considered are almost entirely consistent with those we considered when choosing the base.

“We hit the jackpot!”

Yang Ming frowned and said, “Are you sure they can’t detect our base?”

“I invested half of the initial resources into safety and concealnt, unless they land directly above our base and dig down.”

“This,” Yang Ming still couldn’t quite believe it.

He had faced off against New Federation agents so many tis, been bombed with missiles by them, and even blocked their gathering buildings.

But never had he ‘won unfairly’ like this!

Lyu analyzed, “The structure of this transportation ship is sowhat similar to the planet transformation system we had back then. It has an advanced large-scale tunnel shield machine inside, but while we were opening up the base, they’re here to plant bugs.”

“This planet is so unfortunate,” Yang Ming said with a smile.

He quickly suppressed his joy and began thinking about how to respond.

For concealnt, Lyu had already paused developnt activities underground in Dark Star. At present, the Dark Star was being maintained by the Thought Cultivation Room and Lyu’s secondary mastermind.

Judging from the ship’s trajectory, their landing point was approximately four thousand kiloters away from the edge of the Dark Star Base.

The security of the Dark Star Base wasn’t sothing to worry about, for the ti being.

“Boss, the current problem is, if we directly attack this transportation ship, the New Federation will naturally realize the plan has failed.”

“Don’t rush, let

think about how to proceed.”

Yang Ming imdiately said,

“First, have the Feinan co to pick

up. Try to eavesdrop on them. As soon as they discover the base’s existence, cut off their external communications imdiately, and shoot down if necessary.”

“Boss, the Feinan is just outside and has already prepared for particle transmission!”

As Yang Ming was about to leave, he turned around and ran towards Hera, who was watching him.

Miss Hera was sowhat puzzled when Yang Ming suddenly leaned down and gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

Yang Ming smiled and said, “You can continue the topic you’re interested in. Our problem is already solved.”

“Hey!”

Hera frowned, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand, and shouted at Yang Ming’s quickly retreating figure,

“Next ti you decide to slobber on my face, please let

know in advance so I can prepare ntally!”

“No problem!”

Yang Ming poked his head around the hatch, giving Hera a gentle wink with his right eye.

Hera imdiately said, “What I an is… I’m not really opposed to such behavior; I just want to prepare a bit, like applying makeup or so skin moisturizer… Fine, have a successful mission.”

The hatch had already closed as she shrugged slightly and went back to jotting down experintal ideas.

She had only written a few symbols when she got up to go to the bathroom.

Over ten minutes later, with a mask sheet on her face, she returned to the desk, pressed her slender and well-proportioned legs together, and continued her intense work.

When the Feinan quietly arrived at the far side of Dark Star, the transportation ship had already begun its descent.

The area it landed was a beach next to an oceanic ruin, where the ‘digging’ system it carried would excavate directly downward.

Aboard the Feinan.

Yang Ming had already donned his exoskeleton armor, with three light swords strapped to his waist, ready to spring into action anyti.

“Boss, the internal monitoring system of the transportation ship has been breached.”

Yang Ming smiled and said, “Lyu, you’re much slower this ti.”

Lyu explained seriously, “The New Federation’s network technology shouldn’t be underestimated. I’m also avoiding being discovered by them.”

A massive projection screen appeared on the bridge of the Feinan.

In the bridge of the transportation ship, a group of crew mbers was gathering.

These crew mbers, dressed in similar work uniforms, belonged to the sa shipping company.

They had been inford that what they were transporting was a planet transformation system and that they were serving so powerful country’s espionage organization, with commissions six tis higher than usual.

For this commission, they were required to remain in radio silence throughout the voyage.

At present, sixty-two crew mbers stood expectantly.

The planet transformation system had been delivered, their job was done, and the hundred-ter passenger ship set for their return had already detached from the main body of the transportation ship. With just a few jumps, they could return to the ho port.

Seven bosses stood in a line.

Wearing formal evening gowns, they lifted the champagne glasses in their hands with a smile.

“The voyage went smoothly, and we’ll now proceed with cash compensation for the labor, as per our industry norms.”
