[Bota Star People, right?]

On Blue Star, the investigative team sent by the United Governnt is trying to communicate and interact with the Bota Star People residing in the abandoned city.

Because the Bota Star People previously promised that if they wanted residence rights on Blue Star, they would need to hand over the knowledge they possessed.

Now, it’s ti for the United Governnt to receive this knowledge.

Blue Star has been ’at peace for a long ti,’ and has long since had no agents, but they still have many people whose spirit and will are very resilient, able to guard their consciousness in exchanges with the Bota Star People and prevent their minds from being read by them.

Currently communicating with Komore is a human nad ’Mayin Taylor,’ a slim, always smiling black man.

Komore found that this human did well in self-isolation of consciousness, and during their telekinetic communication, not even a hint of cluttered thoughts could be sensed.

[Komore—my na is Komore.]

Komore was introducing itself.

In Mayin Taylor’s mind, an image of a strangely shaped beast appeared, which seed to be the source of Komore’s na.

[Alright, Komore, if we jump straight to the topic, it feels a bit abrupt, so we can first chat about other things, like how Bota Star was destroyed.] Mayin smiled at Komore, [I know it’s quite rude, but since you have nowhere else to go, to prevent Blue Star from repeating the sa mistakes, you must tell us these things in detail. This is also for the protection of our ho, don’t you think?]

’Our’ ho...

Komore’s thoughts fell silent.

The Bota Star People ca to Blue Star out of necessity; they didn’t have enough energy to jump to another territory under the Galaxy Interstellar Alliance, and after reaching Blue Star, their barely repaired jump device broke down.

Being trapped on an unknown planet, or coming to Blue Star, where they had previously communicated and at least had life present, was the decision the Bota Star People faced before their final jump.

Mayin’s depiction seed to move Komore, and Komore began to narrate what had happened on Bota Star.

[Marking—the Demons possess the ability to ’mark.’]

Recalling those past events was painful for Komore; Mayin could taste so pain, sorrow, and despair from Komore’s outer layer of consciousness.

Komore held a certain position on Bota Star; otherwise, it couldn’t have beco the leader that ultimately brought the Bota Star People to Blue Star.

Under Mayin’s deep gaze, Komore began to ’talk’ about those unbearable mories: [Any planet that summons Demons will be marked by them. Even if they are successfully expelled, the Demons won’t let that planet go. They will return whenever there’s a chance. Bota Star once utilized Demons to tackle problems brought on by the ’Cosmic Disaster Life Form,’ which is why we shared this thod with you. But later, when we discovered that Demons could actively open portals to our ho planet, we advised against responding because they would co looking.]

[I see.] Mayin still smiling, [But, I am now intrigued by what you just said about ’we shared this thod with you’—did you Bota Star People ever inform us, the Blue Star People, about the thod to summon Demons?]

Komore was taken aback, [You didn’t know? Although I wasn’t directly involved, from the communication records we found, we indeed inford you.]

What a trouble...

Unconsciously, Mayin clasped his hands, with his thumbs twirling around in his palm.

That was a decade before the Lost, right after receiving news from the Bota Star People, the Abyss descended on Blue Star.

A decade before the Lost, Blue Star didn’t have a unified governnt; there were nearly two hundred countries.

Back then, in response to Xia Country’s comrcial nuclear fusion project completion, the United States chose to communicate with aliens; all communication records with the Bota Star People were held by the U.S. governnt.

The U.S. governnt had released only two communication ssages to the public, yet there were actually three, with the critical one being concealed by them.

Now it’s been eighty-one years, if the thod to summon Demons hasn’t been lost, it should still be held by so as a trump card.

So, did the U.S. governnt run experints back then to test the Demon’s combat power?

Suddenly, Mayin extended his hand to grasp both of Komore’s hands sitting opposite him.

The abrupt intimate gesture caught Komore off guard, wanting to withdraw its claws but worried about harming Mayin.

[Please elaborate on the issue of Demons.] Mayin’s thoughts were telekinetically transmitted into Komore’s mind, [We have plenty of ti.]

...

Yulia and the Lord of Mayin City walked through the completely ice-bound city, observing those elves who were frozen.

"Don’t worry, they are still alive."

Yulia had a cigarette in her mouth but didn’t smoke it, savoring the smoke wafting in the air.

The Lord of Mayin City was also smoking, relieving the pressure in her heart.

She knew Yulia’s words were rely to comfort her.

Though these elves and humans were still alive, if they were thawed, they might die.

"Damn it, what on earth happened here..."

Looking at the elves on the streets frozen, the Lord of Mayin City was filled with anxiety.

Within the city, so elves lost control for no apparent reason, attacking other elves, leaving no chance for any elf to react swiftly.

If not for Yulia being here, Mayin City might have perished.

Yulia looked at a mindless elf, who was attacking another elf, tapping the ice covering him, "Shall we try unfreezing one?"

The Lord of Mayin City shook her head, refusing, "There are other elves here; after unfreezing him, he might harm the other elves."

Thinking for a mont, Yulia agreed it made sense.

Being a Hunter, she was more adept at killing, finding it hard to protect others without lethality.

The Lord of Mayin City’s casting ability wasn’t strong; she was rely the ’most knowledgeable elf in the realm,’ not the ’strongest elf.’

Sotis, vast knowledge doesn’t equate to formidable strength.

So, the Lord of Mayin City wasn’t confident in protecting other elves from uncontrolled elves.

In such a situation, Yulia and the Lord of Mayin City could only choose to observe the uncontrolled elves through the ice layers.

Then it was discovered that the uncontrolled elves all bore an emotionless expression.

"Indeed, they’re being controlled by sothing..."

The Lord of Mayin City gently caressed the cheek of an ’ice sculpture,’ her face full of compassion, her heart brimming with anger.

"It’s parasites."

At this ti, Yan Luo quickly ca from the end of the street.

Mayin City was sealed by an enchantnt, preventing Yan Luo from entering from above; he had to climb the walls after locating a bridge.

Yulia looked up, surprised, and asked, "Yan the Younger, why are you here?"

Yan Luo ca to stand before Yulia and the Lord of Mayin City and said, "I, Sasa, and Julia delved into the depths of Gass Forest, planning to hunt Demons while investigating the cause of the Demon disturbance. Unexpectedly, we quickly found the reason for the Demon disturbance."

While speaking, Yan Luo tapped his watch, projecting an image of the parasites and the hollowed spines they caused.

"These are the culprits; they can hollow out a Demon’s spine, replacing its functionalities to control the Demon’s body. Presumably, it’s the sa with the elves."

Gazing at the images Yan Luo projected, the Lord of Mayin City furrowed her brow.

Then, Yan Luo discussed various characteristics of these parasites with the two of them.

Upon hearing that ’the parasites cannot reproduce on their own’ and ’are primarily spread through water,’ the Lord of Mayin City’s wrath exploded, her fists tightly clenched.

This ant these parasites were deliberately manufactured to harm the elves.

Knowing that the elves weren’t losing control due to magic but because of parasites, Yulia exhaled in relief, patting the Lord of Mayin City’s shoulder, and smiled, "Don’t worry, they can be saved."

It’s just a matter of replacing a spine, and with Blue Star’s current dical technology, it can be done.
