Under the crimson moonlight, Yan Luo stood in a silent standoff with a lethal-level mythical beast.

It was, of course, not a Shadow Wolf; Yan Luo could casually kick such a small fry to death.

Facing Yan Luo was a large lizard, only it had a pair of delicate sharp horns and two wing-like structures covered in scales on its back.

This type of demon is called the ’Plain Draconic Lizard.’ Although they lack the ability to fly, their fleshy wings cannot support their heavy bodies, nor do they have the superpowers to lighten their weight or control air currents.

It’s called the Plain Draconic Lizard because there is another, more powerful sub-dragon in the Crescent Mountain Range, called the ’Mountain Draconic Lizard.’

That type of sub-dragon can not only fly but also manipulate air currents, much stronger than the Plain Draconic Lizard.

However, the Plain Draconic Lizard is not without rit; at least compared to other demons of the sa level, its physical capabilities are among the best, and it can also breathe fire.

Its appearance and abilities bear so similarity to the western dragons of myth and legend, hence the na Plain Draconic Lizard.

Most Plain Draconic Lizards can beco lethal-level demons, and a few can reach the city-breaking level. The one appearing before Yan Luo now has the potential to beco a city-breaking level demon.

Generally speaking, a lethal-level Plain Draconic Lizard ranges from nine to fourteen ters in length, while a city-breaking level one must be at least fifteen ters long.

The Plain Draconic Lizard confronting Yan Luo now is fourteen ters long, not far from becoming a city-breaking level demon.

Unfortunately, it encountered Yan Luo, who wouldn’t allow it to beco a city-breaking level demon.

This Plain Draconic Lizard would need to consu at least a dozen other demons of the sa level to reach city-breaking level, but Yan Luo wouldn’t give it the chance and intends to kill it here.

Holding a long knife, Yan Luo stood solemnly, his breathing steady.

Crouching opposite Yan Luo, the Plain Draconic Lizard stared at him with intense vigilance, seemingly pondering how to defeat this prey.

The intelligence of the Plain Draconic Lizard is about half a level higher than other lethal-level demons; at least they use their brains while hunting, whereas most demons treat their brains as re ornants.

Yan Luo noticed that he seed to possess a certain ’positional suppression’ over demons.

Against dangerous-level demons, they would be very frightened of him, and lethal-level demons would treat him seriously, but only city-breaking level demons would confront him like a general threat above the hunter level—attacking on sight.

This phenonon doesn’t occur with other hunters, even advanced hunters, who can’t exude an aura that frightens dangerous-level demons.

"Roar!"

After a long standoff, the Plain Draconic Lizard, unwilling to give up on Yan Luo as a prey, let out a loud roar, then flapped its relatively smaller wings to accelerate its run, charging at Yan Luo.

A colossal beast charged straight ahead, yet Yan Luo showed no fear, instead gripping his knife handle tight, and the corners of his mouth curled slightly beneath his tallic mask.

As the Plain Draconic Lizard approached, Yan Luo suddenly jumped to the side, performing a sideways flip to dodge the rush.

The next mont, the sub-dragon swung its long tail.

This, too, was within Yan Luo’s expectations; he jumped again, performing a backflip to land smoothly.

Imdiately afterward, a fleshy wing of the Plain Draconic Lizard slamd down, intending to flatten Yan Luo.

But Yan Luo instead retreated while lowering his body to spring toward the sub-dragon’s side abdon.

Startled, the Plain Draconic Lizard forcefully moved its rear legs to shift its body, simultaneously spewing a burst of fire from its mouth.

Rush, tail swing, wing slap, breath attack—the standard four-hit combo of the Plain Draconic Lizard.

The majority of Plain Draconic Lizards execute this combo, and few, even if they change techniques, only modify the latter moves; the opening move always starts with a roar and charge.

Yan Luo had a ’move chart’ of most demons from the Crimson Abyss imprinted in his mind, allowing him to predict their attacks and precisely forecast their execution and variation timing.

The Plain Draconic Lizard’s breath duration is short; simply running to its side can avoid the roaring flas coming from behind.

At most, in five seconds, the Plain Draconic Lizard would cease its breathing.

If the four-move combo fails to kill the prey, the Plain Draconic Lizard would follow up with a claw strike.

While running, Yan Luo ntally counted down, then halted his steps and swiftly retreated.

The grasslands of the Bone-Eroding Plain still burned from the breath attack; Yan Luo landed on a spot among the flas but showed no concern.

Boom!

A large claw struck down where Yan Luo initially stood, indenting the ground.

This was the mont—

It was the opportunity Yan Luo awaited, rushing forward, raising his long knife, and reversing the blade to stab fiercely at the sub-dragon’s claw.

The long knife pierced through the sub-dragon’s claw, embedding deeply into the soil, trapping the Plain Draconic Lizard in place.

"Aargh!!"

The Plain Draconic Lizard cried out in pain, wanting to retract its claw, but moving only intensified the pain. Pulling the claw from the ground was out of the question, as Yan Luo had driven the knife in to the hilt, pinning the entire claw, leaving no room for leverage.

After each breath attack, the Plain Draconic Lizard required a three-minute rest to launch another.

Yan Luo let go, turning to lunge at the sub-dragon’s head, delivering a powerful punch.

His fist shattered the scales on the sub-dragon’s face, even causing cracks in the exoskeleton of his armored hand.

Yan Luo paid it no mind, switching fists for another blow.

The Plain Draconic Lizard attempted to turn its head and bite off Yan Luo’s head, but Yan Luo countered with a Rising Dragon Fist that jerked its head backward, emitting an eerie crack from its spine.

When the Plain Draconic Lizard managed to snap its head back, Yan Luo suddenly pivoted and kicked, delivering a power-loaded roundhouse kick that dislocated the sub-dragon’s jaw.

Filled with rage, the Plain Draconic Lizard utilized its hind leg strength to forcibly stand upright, even pulling its claw, impaled by the long knife, out of the ground.

Once upright, the infuriated sub-dragon swiped its clutch horizontally, unaware that Yan Luo flipped over it to dodge.

Kicking off from the ground, Yan Luo’s body shot forward like a cannonball, twisting mid-air to lash out and kick the vulnerable abdon of the sub-dragon.

Behind the abdon lay nurous organs, all twisted under this powerful strike, causing the sub-dragon to cry out in pain, hurriedly descending to the ground to crush with its massive body.

But before the sub-dragon landed, Yan Luo had already withdrawn from beneath it.

The Plain Draconic Lizard struck the ground heavily, entering a brief state of stiffness; Yan Luo seized the chance to leap up, his legs kicking out like phantoms, exploding nurous scales on its head.

He then stepped on the sub-dragon’s head, flipped back, and landed smoothly.

Perhaps the pain inflicted by Yan Luo was too great, prompting the sub-dragon to engage in a trade of injuries; Yan Luo barely touched down when the sub-dragon swung its claw at him.

Hiss—

Yan Luo’s lungs suddenly expanded, the air near his mouth and nose drawn in rapidly, faintly transforming into visible currents.

Following this, Yan Luo spread his legs, stabilized his stance, and delivered an explosive punch.

"Ha!"

His fist collided with the sub-dragon’s claw, montarily locked in a stalemate.

The smaller surface area of Yan Luo’s fist exerted imnse pressure on the sub-dragon’s claw, fracturing its scales and penetrating even the muscle.

The claw the sub-dragon swung was the one pierced by the long knife; Yan Luo took the opportunity to grab the knife handle, his spine and arm muscles morphing into dragon-like forms, yanking the long knife out of the claw with sheer force.

The knife guard even dragged out so fragnts of bone!

"Roar!"

The Plain Draconic Lizard roared, not expecting Yan Luo to leap five ters high, slashing at its eye.

The blade effortlessly split the eyeball, and Yan Luo pressed his weight forward, driving the blade into the sub-dragon’s brain.

The sub-dragon scread in agony, trying to swing its head to flinging Yan Luo off, but this move played right into Yan Luo’s plan.

Yan Luo converted the force of the sub-dragon’s head swing into his own, using the montum to drive the blade deeper, viciously stirring to turn the sub-dragon’s brain into mush.

The sub-dragon didn’t die imdiately, but half of its brain was gone, rendering it unable to move, and it wouldn’t be long before it succumbed.

Seizing this mont, Yan Luo quickly leapt to the ground, slicing open its chest with the long knife, climbing inside, and cutting open the heart to drink the draconic blood.
