Yan Luo took the bus to the entrance of a hotpot restaurant and walked inside.
Li Xinyue and the mbers of the seventh squad of the Glazed Group were waiting for Yan Luo in a private room. At the door, he reported the room number, and a cursor appeared in his eyepiece.
Following the cursor, Yan Luo arrived at Li Xinyue’s private room and pushed the door open.
Instantly, a surge of steamy heat hit him, as the hunters from the seventh squad were enjoying themselves, their faces flushed from the spice, accompanied by a waft of alcohol.
"Drink! Drink to your heart’s content. In a few days, we’ll go hunting in the Abyss and won’t be back for over ten days."
"Yo, Yan Luo, you’re here? Co, co, co, join us for a drink!"
"Oh crap, I can’t do it anymore; I need to hit the restroom..."
Yan Luo turned sideways, letting a hunter clutching his stomach run past him. With his keen hearing, he could discern the sounds of the hunter’s stomach churning amid the noise.
He closed the door behind him, shutting the noise out of the private room. Yan Luo took the empty seat next to Li Xinyue, accepted the new bowl and chopsticks passed to him by soone nearby, and blocked the wine glass offered by others.
"I don’t drink."
Even though Yan Luo’s current physical condition could handle drinking pure alcohol without issues, he preferred not to break his habits.
He picked up a slice of beef, put it into the pot to cook, and looked at Li Xinyue to ask, "Is what you just ntioned true?"
Two rosy hues sprang to Li Xinyue’s cheeks. Hearing Yan Luo’s words, she gently swirled her wine glass between her thumb and forefinger, pursed her lips into a smile, "Of course it’s true. Since they’ve made a move, I can’t just stand idle, right? I know you have so... conflicts with the chairman, so I assu you’ll help , won’t you?"
To Li Xinyue’s surprise, Yan Luo shook his head.
She then heard Yan Luo say, "First, it’s not a conflict between Daoist Li and —it’s a feud. If it weren’t for my strength, I might have been killed by them; second, even if there were no feud between us, I would still help you because we’re friends."
Li Xinyue rolled her eyes, thinking Yan Luo wasn’t going to help her.
Now she realized how beneficial being ’Yan Luo’s friend’ was.
Yan Luo was the kind who held friends in high regard and would always help them if they had issues.
Such people are already rare in today’s restless society; if not for Yan Luo being this kind of person, Li Xinyue thought she might really be in trouble this ti.
Li Xinyue took a sip of wine, like swallowing her determination, turned to Yan Luo to ask, "Yan Luo, I want to ask you, if I wanted to handle Daoist Li, what thod could make him feel pain?"
The hunters sitting around the table gradually quieted down, all looking solemnly at Yan Luo.
Before Yan Luo arrived, Li Xinyue had already explained part of what happened to her to them.
Though they still didn’t know why Daoist Li targeted Li Xinyue, since he did such things, they definitely had to fight back.
Even though they’re rely low-level hunters!
It’s true that Daoist Li’s power is overwhelming, but as comrades born into danger together, if they retreat just because Daoist Li targeted Li Xinyue, then there’s no point in being comrades. Exiting now would earn them contempt from others.
Yan Luo ate his beef, bluntly saying, "Impeachnt! According to Article 74 of the ’Hunter Code’—if the Hunter’s Guild chairman is unpopular, impeachnt can be initiated by three battle group leaders or one hundred hunters signing together. We can ally with the Fields Clan to have them help us with this matter."
Li Xinyue was dumbfounded; she hadn’t thought of this at all.
The other hunters present had the sa reaction.
Yan Luo calmly continued, "Rest assured, the last impeachnt against a Hunter’s Guild chairman was twenty-three years ago; many have forgotten this clause. Though I previously disrupted the Fields Clan’s plans, removing Daoist Li from the chairman’s position doesn’t an one of their mbers can take the spot, but at least it gives the Li Family a significant setback, beneficial to the Fields Clan.
"As long as the person in charge of Crimson No.2 from the Fields Clan doesn’t act petty, they’ll certainly cooperate with us. And even if the Fields Clan doesn’t cooperate, it doesn’t matter; they weren’t a force we needed in my initial plan—it’s just easier to handle Daoist Li with them."
Li Xinyue finally reacted, staring wide-eyed in shock, "You’ve been planning to deal with Daoist Li? How long have you been plotting this?"
"Since returning from the Hunter Skills Competition, I’ve been planning against Daoist Li," Yan Luo calmly said, delivering a statent that shocked everyone.
Li Xinyue blurted out, "Your Tenglong II model was indeed obtained from Daoist Li!"
"Wrong, I made a deal with the Hunter’s Guild high-level. As long as I participated in the Hunter Skills Competition and won the championship, they would give a set of Tenglong II models." Yan Luo continued with equally shocking words, "Daoist Li is just the first; I’ll find ways to take each of them down."
Are such words even allowed?
All the hunters present, except Yan Luo, were stunned, looking at Yan Luo as if they were seeing a madman.
Is Yan Luo actually trying to take down all the high-level mbers of the Hunter’s Guild?
The silence lasted for a while, even the hunter who had just gone to the restroom returned. Seeing everyone in silence, he scratched his head in confusion, "What’s going on?"
Li Xinyue took a deep breath, looked at Yan Luo seriously, "In the future... if there’s anything you need my help with, please make sure to let know!"
It’s impossible for Yan Luo to single-handedly take down all the high-level mbers of the Hunter’s Guild. Li Xinyue thought, since Yan Luo is serious about it, as his friend, she should lend him a helping hand.
"Don’t worry, I will." Yan Luo nodded.
Soon after, the private room beca lively again.
"Co, co, eat, finish all the food on the table, or else we won’t get our money’s worth."
"Yes, everyone, drink, drink!"
"Whoa, damn, these peppers are really damn spicy!"
People unanimously shifted topics, not intending to continue with Yan Luo’s revelations.
Yan Luo’s earlier words were outright rebellious, listening to them could send chills down one’s spine.
People had long sensed sothing off about Yan Luo, but never imagined he was this insane.
......
"Yan Luo really wants to deal with , even aiming to handle the entire high-level of the Hunter’s Guild."
Daoist Li shut off the ssage sent by the hunter he bribed, sneered at his secretary, "What a fantasy!"
The secretary wore a peculiar look, hesitated a bit, then quietly said, "Chairman, I just checked and found Article 74 really exists. If they launch an impeachnt against you..."
"Then let them impeach!"
Daoist Li shook his head with a smile, "To impeach , they need evidence. Those two inspectors have been sent to Lingquan City by ; the investigation permit for Li Xinyue indeed bears my signature, but I can easily push soone out to take the fall, saying I was deceived by that person into signing. Thus, major things beco minor, minor things beco nothing, and I can still firmly hold the chairman’s position."
The secretary pursed his lips, feeling sowhat anxious, but seeing Daoist Li’s confident manner, he swallowed back the words hanging on his lips.
As a secretary, his job was to keep the leader happy; only when the superior is pleased can he gain more.
He shouldn’t speak now, risking annoying Daoist Li.
His power depended on Daoist Li; if Daoist Li lost the chairman position, his power would vanish too.
Logically, he should offer a reminder.
But Daoist Li is so pleased now...
The secretary turned and left the chairman’s office, ultimately choosing not to say anything.
——Could Yan Luo really be unprepared regarding this?
