Algernon Matthew also stood on the high platform, eyeing Bai Yan with great interest.
"Take away those two. According to the old rules for this Japanese, whittle him into a human stick and send it to the Yamaguchi Group, with the signature ’Demon Island’; as for this so-called mber of the Da Han Nation? Cripple him, hang him from the castle wall, and let him dry to death."
Bai Yan ordered calmly, deciding the fate of the two n in an instant.
"Owww~!"
Beijing Dragon Vein restored, Kato Jintarou instantly fell to the ground.
"Yes! Master!"
Several Demon Warriors pressed forward, easily subduing An Zairen and Kato Jintarou.
"Let go of ! Bastards, let go of ! I am a high-ranking mber of the Da Han Strange People Organization! You have no right to deal with !"
An Zairen scread in terror and anger.
While Kato Jintarou’s face was filled with sadness and despair, knowing full well that falling into the hands of Hua Xia people, one did not need to imagine how miserable his fate would be.
An Zairen’s pitiful cry echoed throughout the entire hall, making everyone feel goosebumps all over.
That voice was so desperate!
The Demon Warriors, expressionless, took the two n along with their terrified female companions away, then vanished back into the Void.
From beginning to end, no one interfered, nor did anyone else dare to speak.
No one noticed when these Demon Warriors had appeared, including the Prince, none sensed the presence of these people.
If it were not for these Demon Warriors appearing on their own, nobody would have known that there were several invisible Demon Warriors lurking by Bai Yan’s side!
At this thought, everyone simultaneously broke out into a cold sweat.
Putting aside Bai Yan’s own strength for the mont, just his subordinates, these warriors who could appear and disappear like ghosts, could easily claim the lives of most people present!
"Alright, now there’s a spot open."
Bai Yan clapped his hands and said with a smiling grin.
Looking around, no one dared to speak out of turn.
Bai Yan had already demonstrated his power, easily taking out two S-rank mbers of Abnormal People, and the eting hadn’t even properly started before mbers from the Yamaguchi Group and the Da Han Strange People Organization were eliminated!
This brutal and bloody thod made the leaders of the Dark Camp take notice.
Now, who would dare to flirt with An Yan?
Those two unfortunate ones were a clear lesson!
Prince Algernon Matthew laughed heartily, saying to Bai Yan in a aningful way: "The power behind you, is it Demon Island or the Enemy of God?"
"As long as Prince Your Highness wishes, you may call it either."
Bai Yan lay lazily on the sofa, hugging An Yan.
Daring to speak to the Prince like this, this man really had so guts!
"Good."
Algernon Matthew took a deep look at Bai Yan, it was unclear whether he was pleased or angry: "However, I hope Mr. Bai rembers, do not break the rules of the Dark Assembly again. During the eting, other than you and your companion, I do not wish to see anyone else under your command."
Bai Yan shrugged his shoulders and smiled at Algernon Matthew.
The two exchanged glances, and Bai Yan’s eyes were filled with a strange smile.
While Algernon Matthew looked on with a calm and sowhat warning glance.
"Now, I announce, this year’s Dark Assembly officially begins! Next up, is the long-awaited auction of antique treasures!"
Algernon Matthew turned and announced loudly with a smile.
Then he stepped down from the platform and sat on the sofa at the side. Nurous Blood Race Servants dressed as attendees ca forward, each holding a tray or carrying sothing.
These items were all wrapped in red cloth, obscuring their form.
The Dark Council held an auction of a large number of antique items every year, mostly treasures lost from Hua Xia, and this year was no exception. Among the dozens of treasures, eight or nine out of ten were Supre Treasures lost from Hua Xia.
"Haha, this year I can add a few more precious treasures to my collection!"
"Yes, these are all things I like the most!"
"Especially the Hua Xia ancient Imperial Treasures, truly exquisite! Worth collecting!"
"Unfortunately, Hua Xia was weak back then; otherwise, how could we have gotten these treasures? I’ve heard that soone even got their hands on Huaxia Divine Artifacts at an auction at the Dark Council!"
"Ancient artifacts have their own spirituality. After being nurtured by the body heat of the owner who spent a fortune on them at an auction, their effects are certainly extraordinary!"
Everyone was discussing animatedly, whispering to each other with smiles on their faces, their tones tinged with a hint of excitent.
It’s not to ntion that so special Huaxia ancient treasures have marvelous uses; the re fact of the long lifespan of high-ranking Abnormal People ans they are invariably sowhat inclined to collect such items.
"The first item, a mother-of-pearl inlaid purple sandalwood pipa with five strings, provided by Japan’s Yamaguchi Group, is a precious Huaxia treasure."
A servant of the Blood Clan, the epito of a gentleman, unveiled the red cloth in front of him, revealing an orange-yellow ancient pipa.
The mother-of-pearl inlaid purple sandalwood pipa with five strings is a type of inlaid musical instrunt from the Tang Dynasty. It is now classified as an Imperial Treasure-grade cultural relic, housed in the Northern Court of the Regalia Repository of the Imperial Household Agency in Japan.
This pipa is truly a Divine Grade instrunt. Generally, pipas have four strings, but this is the only surviving five-string pipa in the world. To be precise, this instrunt is not the sa as the four-string pipa; the four-string pipa has a curved neck while this five-string pipa has a straight neck, aning the tuning chanism and the playing surface are on the sa plane.
This type of five-string pipa has been lost to history, but flying apsaras can often be seen playing this type of instrunt in the murals of the Dunhuang Caves. The Tang Dynasty’s mother-of-pearl inlay technique on this particular pipa is pushed to its pinnacle, showcasing the grandeur of the prosperous era of the Tang Empire.
This instrunt was part of Emperor Shengwu’s collection. After his death, he bequeathed the treasures he once used to the Storage House of Nara Todaiji Temple. For over a thousand years, they lay undisturbed, the repository filled with countless rare and exotic treasures. There were as many as four or five supre musical instrunts alone, and this one ranked first among them.
In other words, just the first auction item alone is an Imperial Treasure-level unique cultural relic passed down through Huaxia’s history!
This is a Supre Treasure that has strayed outside of Huaxia!
"The starting bid is 200 million US dollars, each bid must be no less than 10 million US dollars."
The Blood Race servant announced with a smile.
Each servant had a Supre Treasure to present, and each was also an auctioneer for individual items, giving the treasures the respect they deserved.
"Ha ha, indeed a fine thing from Huaxia!"
"I’ll take it! 300 million US dollars!"
"I bid 380 million US dollars!"
"I bid 500 million US dollars! Please give so face, I represent the Italy Abnormal People Organization, and I want to purchase this treasure as a bargaining chip for next month’s negotiations with the Hua Xia side!"
Several leaders of the Abnormal People began bidding.
None of them lacked money. Compared to the functions of these treasures, re wealth was trivial.
So would buy it to use as a bargaining chip in negotiations with Hua Xia, vying for more international interests; so would buy it to resell it to Hua Xia for ten tis the price; and so would even stir up controversy to undermine social stability within Hua Xia, hoping to reap benefits from the turmoil.
Very few acquired these pieces simply for their collection; everyone had their own agenda when buying, and these cunning leaders were certainly no exception.
Bai Yan casually lit a cigarette, his gaze calm, watching the ongoing bidding.
"Bai Yan, aren’t you going to bid?"
An Yan was getting a bit anxious, pinching Bai Yan’s fingers, and asked in a soft voice.
She knew her man well; seeing these people brazenly compete for Huaxia’s treasures without any regard for the Huaxia people present was undoubtedly a slap in Bai Yan’s face!
An Yan had a thousand reasons to believe that Bai Yan attending the Dark Council would definitely be aware of the auction items beforehand. Since he was here, he surely would compete for these treasures, but why hadn’t Bai Yan made his move yet?
In an instant, three or four treasures were auctioned off, each fetching an exorbitant price.
Yet Bai Yan hadn’t bid once. He remained silent, nonchalantly smoking, as if he were an outsider to the proceedings.
An Yan couldn’t hold back any longer, she wanted to bid herself.
As a daughter of Hua Xia, how could she sit idly by while these people snatched the relics of her ancestors?
"Just wait a bit longer."
Bai Yan smiled and pressed down on her hand that was about to raise the bidding placard.
"Bai Yan?"
An Yan was taken aback, looking at Bai Yan with so confusion.
"Perhaps Mr. Bai is a little short on cash?"
A middle-aged mber of Blood Clan sitting next to Bai Yan suddenly glead with a cunning look, chuckling as he turned to Bai Yan.
He glanced at Bai Yan and then looked at the beautiful An Yan.
Licking his lips, the Blood Clan mber sneered maliciously, "If Demon Island doesn’t have enough funds for the bid, I can consider lending you a hundred billion US dollars, in return for borrowing this beauty for a couple of days."
Others might fear Bai Yan, but he didn’t!
That’s because he was an important commander under another Bloodline Prince, with a profound background and great personal strength – a Duke-level vampire of SS rank!
