On the snow mountain.
The night had deepened.
The pursuit had stalled halfway.
Several brothers from the Dragon Clan said they needed to discuss strategies in private and temporarily hid away.
Only Wu Xiaode was left squatting in the blizzard, boredly watching the prompt rune in the Void:
"Current rit: 3."
Just three points, not enough to play "Divine Enthronent".
Wu Xiaode felt a surge of irritation.
If those dragons continued to be wishy-washy later on, he would just lend them money so they could continue to earn rit with him.
—— After all, the money would end up in his hands eventually.
Having realized this, Wu Xiaode opened the Book of the Dead and looked at the page specifically holding the "Tomb of the Multitudes of Laws" deck.
The third card—
Babylon.
He saw Ye Jiana standing on the card, still holding that brick in her hand, looking over at Wu Xiaode.
"You’ve restored your power?"
She asked in surprise.
"Yeah, just— quite unexpectedly, we’ve solved the problem on our end," Wu Xiaode shrugged and said.
The power of Babylon was hidden in the great tomb.
But at the ti, all his skills had been sealed by the Purgatory Demon King, and Ye Jiana had suggested he should venture into the tomb world after breaking the seal.
"You can now go to the great tomb— wait a second, where are you?"
Ye Jiana looked over at Wu Xiaode’s location, curiously observing her surroundings.
"This is a dream of the Dragon Clan..."
Wu Xiaode explained the situation.
"A dream of the Dragon Clan... the Ancient Dragon King? Are you sure?" Ye Jiana asked with an odd expression.
"That’s right, I even mixed a unique skill with the power of Causality Law," Wu Xiaode said, spreading his hands.
Ye Jiana looked at him, as if she had more to say but stopped herself.
"What is it?" Wu Xiaode asked.
"...It’s nothing, I suddenly feel that you shouldn’t worry about the tomb for now because it’s already too late... You can’t leave this dream for the ti being," Ye Jiana said.
For so reason, Wu Xiaode felt she was sowhat nervous.
This Babylon card spirit seed to know a lot, but she had various concerns, or perhaps a sense of asure, and didn’t reveal anything.
"Is there anything you want to warn about?"
Wu Xiaode asked seriously.
Ye Jiana said, "This opportunity is very good, but I am also very worried."
"Worried about what?"
"The secrets and treasures of the Ancient Dragon King are not sothing ordinary people can touch. Now that you’re involved, please rember to prioritize survival above all else."
Wu Xiaode said, "About the Ancient Dragon King—"
"Don’t ask, I won’t tell you because once that secret is spoken, if soone detects it, I will be the first to be destroyed, and the deck can no longer be assembled," Ye Jiana said.
"One last question, is what’s here more important than ’Babylon’?" Wu Xiaode asked.
"Both matters are equally important... The problem doesn’t lie here, but in your survival or demise."
Having said that, Ye Jiana suddenly reached out and touched the center of Wu Xiaode’s forehead—
In an instant, Wu Xiaode felt a strange power entering his body.
"I was planning to give this to you once you regained your strength and started looking for Babylon’s power in the tomb," Ye Jiana continued.
"But since you’ve ended up in the dream of the Ancient Dragon King, I’ll give you this ability ahead of ti."
"I’m currently very weak, this is all I have; I hope it can help you."
After speaking, Ye Jiana nodded at Wu Xiaode then flew back to the book.
Before Wu Xiaode’s eyes, a line of ice crystal letters had already appeared:
"You have gained the power of the card:"
"Elent Detection."
"Spirit Skill."
"Gifted ability from the card spirit."
"Effect: Detect the elents that compose all things, understand and master the thods of using them."
"— You can continue to use it until you switch to the next card."
Wu Xiaode fell silent.
In this deck, "Eternal Night Star" and "Heir of the World Tree" were very fierce cards.
As for Babylon—
Before even starting to collect the power of Babylon, he had already received a Spirit Skill.
From the literal aning, he had no idea how to use it.
However, he could sense the gravity in Ye Jiana’s attitude.
With a thought, Wu Xiaode looked towards the Wall of Sighs.
The wall was covered in rolling black fog, almost piling up into a towering peak.
— An ominous on of death!
He didn’t expect that right after breaking the seal on his power, he would witness such a strong premonition of death.
What exactly would happen?
Wu Xiaode cald down and carefully recalled recent events.
First, this dream of the Ancient Dragon King, stemd from Gjestastav’s past mories.
Gjestastav’s powers were sealed within this dream.
Supposedly, he could now take on the Dragon Clan, but the Wall of Sighs released a premonition of death prematurely.
This dream...
What exactly was it hiding?
Wu Xiaode suddenly rembered Fat Sa’s words.
"Brother Wu, we of the Dragon Clan have never heard of anything about an Ancient Dragon King, I swear," Fat Sa said.
"Is everything that happened to Gjestastav fake?" he asked himself.
Fat Sa shook his head, "No, the Dragon Clan power within her is pure and even high-level compared to my own. So this is really puzzling... I’m an academic dragon who loves history; I wouldn’t get this wrong."
Truly baffling.
Everything here was bizarre and eerie.
But he couldn’t just abandon Gjestastav.
Maybe—
He needed to be more serious.
Wu Xiaode straightened his attitude and released Luminous Flas all over his body, cloaking everything around him simultaneously.
Evernight City!
In the midst of the Luminous Flas, he stretched out his hand and laid it on the Book of the Dead.
The whole world seed to turn into an illusion.
An old, damaged wall quietly appeared, standing amidst an endless mist.
The Wall of Sighs!
On the wall were already nurous stickers of various colors.
These represented the commissions of many Heroic Spirits; if Wu Xiaode accepted a commission, the sticker would disappear.
But Wu Xiaode also used it to communicate with the Heroic Spirits.
"Hey, hey, Master, are you there?"
He shouted toward the Wall of Sighs.
Gradually, a shadow erged on the Wall of Sighs.
It was the Human Emperor.
"What’s up?" the Human Emperor asked directly.
"I feel like I’ve entered so bizarre situation, and I don’t know what will follow," Wu Xiaode said.
"Don’t you always solve things on your own? Why did you think to find today?" the Human Emperor asked.
"I’ve encountered so things recently, and I realized the knowledge you imbued with can actually be updated, which has been a trendous help—wow, in the end, my master sure is amazing,"
Wu Xiaode complinted.
"Knowledge update?" The Human Emperor looked at him and said indifferently, "Oh, you’ve beco a world-class being now."
The Human Emperor glanced outside again and nodded, "This is the dreamscape of the Ancient Dragon King, how did you manage to mix yourself into a place like this?"
It was as if he saw sothing and his expression turned serious.
"I’m here to rescue soone. Who knew I’d get mixed up with a skill; at first, I thought it was not bad, but now I’m getting a bad feeling... Maybe you could join in battle, Master?" Wu Xiaode said.
Still staring into the Void with a gaze as if scrutinizing sothing, the Human Emperor muttered:
"With my current strength, even if I descended upon you, I wouldn’t be of much help. I might even directly burn through this Heroic Spirit body during the fight..."
"We would both die."
"Isn’t there any way?" Wu Xiaode imdiately asked.
"Fine, that guy is going to show up soon, and you are about to die, so I’ll tell you the only safety asure,"
the Human Emperor said.
Safety asure?
Wu Xiaode was full of confusion.
The Human Emperor smiled and said, "When I first saw your potential, we taught you a move just in case you encountered that kind of being, to prevent you from falling into a state of certain death."
"What kind of being? Even more formidable than the Purgatory Demon Lord?" Wu Xiaode curiously asked.
"Don’t ask. You are about to see it; I couldn’t imagine you could attract such a being with your weakness... I guess anyone would go crazy knowing about it," the Human Emperor sighed.
"I can’t defeat it?" Wu Xiaode was sowhat incredulous.
"Definitely dead," the Human Emperor stated with certainty.
Wu Xiaode imdiately believed him.
For such matters, even if they were false, one had to believe them first, then prepare comprehensively, give it one’s all in hopes of surviving.
"Master, you said there was a safety asure," Wu Xiaode said.
The Human Emperor looked at him and spoke softly, "Which one of your deck can enhance your skills?"
"The ’Heir of the World Tree’, but it’s still cooling down," Wu Xiaode said.
"Find a way to make it usable, then strengthen the Swordsmanship you know. That’s your only chance to live."
The figure of the Human Emperor gradually faded.
"I must go now... otherwise, if that being spots my essence, you won’t stand a chance of getting through this discreetly."
As the words ended.
The Human Emperor disappeared.
The Book of the Dead snapped shut and landed in Wu Xiaode’s hands.
He stared blankly at the book, feeling as if he was dreaming.
Even the master believed he had no way out?
As he thought this, footsteps suddenly ca from not far away.
Wu Xiaode turned to look.
He saw four mbers of the Dragon Clan’s King Slayer approaching through the snowstorm.
Their steps were in perfect unison, every movent completely synchronized, even the shifting of their eyes didn’t vary in the slightest.
From a distance, they had already spotted Wu Xiaode.
——Wu Xiaode, enveloped in the "Evernight City" Luminous Flas.
"So you are here,"
all four Dragon Clan mbers said in unison.
Their deanor, language, tone, and expressions were exactly the sa, as if one person was speaking through four bodies simultaneously.
"Yes, I’ve been waiting for you right here," Wu Xiaode said.
All four Dragon Clan mbers nodded together, then spoke in unison, voicing the sa sentence:
"Let’s go, take to that Temple. We must not let it hinder our pursuit."
Wu Xiaode watched them, and a chill gradually rose in his heart.
