The book flew out and gently landed in the hands of the Destroyer.

The Destroyer put away the book and nodded towards Wu Xiaode,

"Our transaction is now complete, but you must be careful. If your power is insufficient to collect the manifestation of the world after its Destruction, you will be assimilated by it and beco a part of it—"

"It will beco your cage."

"Understood," Wu Xiaode said.

The Destroyer stepped back, his figure gradually fading, disappearing into the Void.

Only Wu Xiaode remained here.

—And the spirit upon him.

"I told you, my reward is most suitable for you. Now do you understand why?"

The spirit took control of his body and walked towards the floating Disaster Emblem.

Wu Xiaode said, "By obtaining the ’End’ after the world’s Destruction, I am now akin to a mber of the Destruction Council, am I right?"

The spirit said in a deep tone,

"Exactly. If you don’t possess even a basic ’End,’ you’re rely cannon fodder, destined to be sacrificed by the Destruction Council sooner or later, and our world will be completely destroyed by them."

While speaking, Wu Xiaode stood by the edge of the Blood Pool.

The Blood Pool had dried up.

The Disaster Emblem floated in mid-air, still emitting light of both blood and water colors.

"A professional must reach at least level 300 to qualify for collecting ’End’, but at this mont I invoke the Book of the Dead and the rules of the Wall of Sighs to descend upon you—"

"I shall help you complete this collection!"

As the spirit spoke, it controlled Wu Xiaode’s hand and grabbed the Disaster Emblem.

The next second.

A burst of dazzling light erupted from the Disaster Emblem.

The entire world suddenly receded into the distance.

Wu Xiaode found himself standing in the midst of an endless dark cosmos, surrounded by distant stars and floating lights.

Countless brilliant lights flew back past him.

He discovered that he was moving in one direction at an unimaginable speed.

Over ti, everything fell into an eternal darkness that left him devoid of self-awareness, seemingly beyond the perception of ti and space.

All beca Eternal—

Eternal Chaos.

Suddenly.

A blue planet appeared ahead.

Its soft blue glow awakened Wu Xiaode’s sense of self.

He "awoke" again, rembering who he was and how he had co here.

"Look, how beautiful," the spirit on Wu Xiaode emotionally said.

"Yes, the planet is enchanting... but I don’t see any land," Wu Xiaode said.

"All the land has been subrged. This is the ’Great Flood’ that completed the Destruction; no beings exist in the world anymore. The world has entered its state of Destruction—"

"That is, the so-called ’End’!"

"No beings... But if it’s water, there should be aquatic life, right?" Wu Xiaode couldn’t help asking.

"So that is a matter of probability. Perhaps this world didn’t have aquatic animals to begin with, or perhaps so weapon was leaked during the Great Flood that led to the extinction of aquatic life," the spirit replied.

He spread his hand, letting the Disaster Emblem in his palm float up.

The blue planet suddenly shot out tendrils of chilly light, like the aurora, hurtling towards Wu Xiaode at high speed.

"It’s starting!"

The spirit said in a low voice.

Infinite resplendent light surged from the planet, enveloping Wu Xiaode, rapidly darting to and forth as if possessing its own consciousness.

"What exactly is the ’End’?" Wu Xiaode couldn’t help asking.

"Every ’End’ is different. Before one attains it, no one knows what it is," the spirit responded.

Wu Xiaode watched the brilliant lights around him and sighed,

"I’m just a level 35 little professional, and now I’m about to obtain a power like ’End’?"

The spirit said with a hint of amusent, "In an era of peace, a level 35 professional would never encounter a ’Destroyer,’ nor face a terrifying organization like the ’Destruction Council’."

As he spoke, the lights were completely absorbed into Wu Xiaode’s body, vanishing from sight.

Hmm?

What’s happening?

Wu Xiaode stared blankly for a mont, unable to react. Just as he was about to ask, his consciousness suddenly beca hazy.

"Quick, look at what this ’End’ is," the spirit urged.

"I don’t know... I feel like sothing strange has happened to ," said Wu Xiaode uneasily.

"Do you feel an inner call to action? Or detect any changes to your body? Or perhaps—do you have a sensation akin to ’giving birth’?" the spirit inquired with precision.

"Not at the mont."

"’End’ could be a weapon, a technique, a lifeform, or even a transformation—these are the common ones. If you haven’t felt any of these, then it might be sothing that has never appeared before."

"Let sense it again," Wu Xiaode closed his eyes and said.

The spirit did not inquire further, remaining silent as Wu Xiaode tried to figure out the power of the "End."

After several breaths,

Wu Xiaode suddenly felt as if sothing new had entered his consciousness.

He carefully observed and found the Book of the Dead manifesting in his mind.

—This was his ability.

Why, at this mont, had it returned to him?

Wu Xiaode was curious.

At that mont, the Book of the Dead opened automatically to the page titled "The Impassable Wall of Sighs."

"Damn it!"

Wu Xiaode couldn’t help but curse out loud.

The function of the "Wall of Sighs" was to assimilate all techniques to his own style.

Could it be—

Was it going to assimilate the "End" into his own style as well?

Wu Xiaode turned his gaze to the "Wall of Sighs," and saw rows of ice crystal script erging on the pitch-black wall:

"Caution!"

"This is a most serious query. You must think thoroughly before answering, as there is no room for regret."

"Question:"

"Among all beings that have obtained ’End,’ at least they are above level 300—"

"You are only level 35, weak to the extre; so how can you stand shoulder to shoulder with others who possess ’End’?"

"If you cannot find a way, they will surely kill you and take the ’End’ from you."

"Your only chance to turn the tables is to personalize ’End’ through the ’Wall of Sighs’!"

"Please think of a way to defeat enemies above level 300 who possess ’End’!"

"This is your last chance!"

Wu Xiaode faced this question and fell into silence.

Level 35, level 300.

The gap was imnse.

But!

Should he resign to death just because his power was lacking?

No way.

Think quickly, what must he do to hold his ground?

Wu Xiaode began to recall every battle he had experienced, racking his brain for that slim chance that belonged to him.

But still.

Level 35.

Versus level 300.

How the hell could he fight this!

Wu Xiaode took a deep breath to steady himself.

Damn it all.

Upon further consideration, if they were so strong—

Why not bring them down to the sa level, and then defeat them with his rich experience?

Yes, that’s it!

Wu Xiaode crouched on the ground, slowly formulating a brand new idea.
