Garcia hovered in midair.
A faint gray ripple emitted from his body, spreading in all directions, resembling the aura of a Divine being.
The Elf King, Cui Lande, holding his double-edged sword, stood opposite him.
"I know you are powerful, but I will still do everything in my power to kill you," Cui Lande said.
A look of mockery appeared on Garcia’s face, "Ridiculous, it’s been too long since I’ve fought with mortals. Now, using this mortal body, let tear all of you ants to shreds."
The battle began!
Cui Lande disappeared from his spot in an instant.
In the sky, teors hurtled toward Garcia with a vengeance.
"A very common Star Skill, too many races know this trick. Do you think you can win against with this? Pitiful!"
Garcia sighed, and with a gesture of his hand,
Arrows flew from the quiver on his back, shooting into the sky and transforming into a shower of stars, directly blasting all the teors to pieces.
"Got you now!"
Cui Lande suddenly appeared behind Garcia, his double-edged sword aiming for his waist.
— If it caught him, Garcia would be sliced in half at the waist!
Garcia turned around, drawing a dagger from his waist, and clashed with the double-edged sword in several rapid exchanges.
Thump!
Cui Lande was kicked away by his opponent.
"My understanding of the All Living Beings Skill is ten thousand tis deeper than yours," Garcia mocked, "Go die."
In the sky, those arrows, ceaselessly circulating, suddenly changed direction, targeting Cui Lande.
At that mont, Cui Lande was still being kicked through the air, only barely able to lift his sword in defense.
An unexpected twist occurred—
Ding ding ding!
Three bell tolls rang out.
Imdiately after, a team of workers walked onto the arena, signaling to both fighters to retreat to their respective corners.
Garcia stood there dumbfounded.
He looked up at the arrows frozen in mid-air, only to see that the arrows were also suspended motionless.
— The Law had forcibly interrupted the battle!
"I was about to win, why would the match be interrupted? What is going on?"
Garcia grabbed a staff mber and asked with a dark expression.
"Competitor, your first round is over, and now it’s rest ti. Better take advantage of the break," the staff mber said.
Garcia looked over to the other side.
He saw Cui Lande sitting in a chair in one corner of the arena, surrounded by four staff mbers—
One was casting a Healing Skill;
One was beating a drum, performing so kind of spirit-boosting secret technique;
Another handed Cui Lande a freshly prepared energy drink, then wiped his sweat with a towel;
The fourth staff mber—
What the hell, wasn’t that the referee?
How did he beco part of the opponent’s coaching team?
Wu Xiaode, with clenched fists, lood before Cui Lande, bellowing emphatically,
"Hit him hard! Do you understand?"
Cui Lande took a sip of his drink and hesitated, "I understand, but it seems his skills are of a very high level—"
"He is indeed strong, to the point where I could hardly keep up with your fight, but it seems you’ve forgotten sothing," Wu Xiaode said.
"What?" asked Cui Lande.
"No matter how strong it is, that body belongs to a mortal," Wu Xiaode said.
Cui Lande fell into thought.
"Do you understand? Without this body, it can’t descend among us, even if it ans trading blows. You have to destroy its body; then it will be powerless," Wu Xiaode advised.
"I understand now," Cui Lande nodded gravely.
He gave Wu Xiaode an unexpected look.
Why was it that after only watching for a few minutes, this man understood so much?
— Who normally were his opponents in battle?
Ding ding ding!
The bell sounded again.
The second round had begun!
The coaching team mbers all jumped down from the arena.
A curvaceous beauty made her round around the arena, holding up a sign.
The sign bore a large "2."
The second round had started!
Cui Lande, looking rejuvenated, walked to the center of the arena and waved to Garcia,
"Co at again!"
Garcia stood still, deep in thought.
"Trash, are you too afraid to fight ?" taunted the Elf King, Cui Lande.
That spurred Garcia into action.
He charged forward, engaging Cui Lande in combat once more.
This ti, Cui Lande didn’t dodge at all, trading blow for blow with Garcia in a relentless exchange.
"Get out!"
Garcia punched him, sending him tumbling out, coughing up several mouthfuls of blood, barely able to stand.
"I have seen through your moves, now prepare to et your fate of death!" Garcia said with a vicious smile, extending his hand for another move.
Countless arrows shot toward Garcia—
Ding ding ding!
The bell rang again.
The arrows hung motionless in mid-air!
The second round was over!
The staff mbers sward the stage to clean the blood off the arena.
A sharply dressed show host approached Garcia, speaking politely,
"Ladies and gentlen, what a thrilling match this has been."
"Before the match, everyone had high hopes for this competitor, Garcia, and I’ve heard that many have placed heavy bets on him. Now let’s ask him about his thoughts on the match."
The host brought the microphone to Garcia’s mouth and asked, "Garcia, everyone says you could win the match at any ti. Do you think that’s true, or could your opponent actually have a chance to win against you?"
A chance to win against ?
That mortal dares to have a chance against ? Are you joking!
Garcia organized his words and replied coldly, "Actually, everyone can see clearly, my opponent played very poorly today. His timing was also problematic. Although we traded blows for a few dozen exchanges, there’s one point you must have overlooked."
"And what would that be?" the host asked curiously.
"Even though we both took hits, I always avoided vital points. The hits I took were only to so muscle tissues," Garcia said.
"So, how about your opponent?" the host asked.
Garcia sneered, "You should see for yourself. He couldn’t dodge my strikes; I hit all his vulnerable spots, like his chin, nose bridge, neck, and kidneys."
"You really are a notch above the rest," the host said with genuine admiration.
"Of course!"
"I wish you the best of luck in achieving good results."
"Thank you."
"Well, that’s all for our interview, the match is about to start again!"
The curvaceous beauty held up a "No. 3" sign, making another round of the arena.
Dong, dong, dong!
The bell rang!
Garcia looked towards the corner of the ring.
He saw Cui Lande’s injuries had been completely healed; he was sipping an energy drink in small gulps.
The young man squatting next to him shouted, "Did you hear that? Dodge, just dodge, don’t let him hit your vital parts!"
"I got it!" Cui Lande stood up and shouted back.
"Go on!"
The young man patted his butt and then flipped over, jumping off the ring.
Cui Lande walked confidently to the center of the ring, taunting Garcia:
"Co at again!"
Garcia stood still, falling silent.
"Trash, are you too scared to fight now?" the Elf King Cui Lande provoked.
Garcia slowly raised his head, staring at him, and said emotionlessly, "You fight for a few minutes, then go get healed, and have soone teach you how to fight. Do you think that counts as a dignified battle?"
Cui Lande’s face flushed red, and for a mont, he was at a loss for words.
But a voice erupted from below the stage:
"Nonsense, modern combat is like this, you must give people ti to rest and adjust tactics."
Garcia looked towards the sound.
It was that young man speaking.
Clenching his fist, he spoke with justified indignation:
"Fighting like you do, beating people to death in one go, that’s the dishonorable and crooked way of martial arts."
"First cultivate morality if you wish to cultivate martial arts!"
"We should have martial morality!!!"
Garcia fell silent once more.
Seemingly encouraged, Cui Lande stood still, swinging his fists a few tis, and shouted at Garcia:
"Co on! The third round, I’ll make you roll on the floor dripping in piss!"
Garcia watched him silently and muttered under his breath, "Run away after a few minutes of fighting, like hell I will co!"
That’s it.
I can no longer hold back.
I’ll give up looking for weapons in the land of sinners for now and wipe out these shaless bastards with all my might.
Otherwise, I’ll die of frustration!
With this thought, Garcia roared, "World setting alteration, battle without rounds midway, no coaching or intervention by the host during the fight!"
Whirr—
A strong fluctuation appeared in the Void.
The setting took effect!
Cui Lande paled, "This is bad, think of sothing quick!"
"Hahaha, he’s got no way out!"
Garcia laughed wildly with imnse satisfaction, "Your Divine Beasts don’t have such great power to add new settings, so now you can only use the existing world settings—unless he thought of a way to counter beforehand, it’s your loss now!"
He rushed towards Cui Lande.
Cui Lande was forced to face him in haste.
The two again erupted into a fierce close-quarters battle, exchanging blows for dozens of rounds.
Thud!
Cui Lande was once again kicked and sent flying.
"There’s no one to save you this ti, die!" Garcia roared.
Innurable arrows appeared in mid-air.
At that mont, Cui Lande lay on the ring, bloodied and powerless.
Garcia’s Guided Arrow Skill was about to take effect—
In the blink of an eye, everything on the ring ca to a complete stop.
"What’s going on?" Garcia couldn’t help but exclaim.
lodious music began to play.
Then ca a sonorous and magnetic male voice:
"The martial arts competition is underway!"
"Please scan the QR code at the bottom of the screen to cheer on and support your favorite contestant!"
"Now, we’ll take a short break for comrcials."
A graceful female voice resounded:
"Every day, you face many challenges;"
"You might be scarred and bruised;"
"But for the sake of your dreams, you decide to keep striving, never giving up;"
"Holy Card Healing Wand, possessing the one-ti Healing Light, can rejuvenate you inside out."
A beam of light appeared over the ring.
It shone on Cui Lande.
Cui Lande’s wounds were instantly healed.
He leaped up from the ground, swung his fists, and with a full set of pearly white teeth, he said:
"Everyone who uses it says it’s excellent!"
All the light flashed.
The sonorous, magnetic male voice declared, "The comrcial break is over, and the match resus!"
All the arrows hanging in mid-air suddenly flew towards Cui Lande.
However, he had now fully recovered.
He dodged and weaved, flawlessly avoiding all the arrow attacks.
"Co at again!"
Cui Lande gestured to Garcia across the ring.
Garcia stood still silently for a long while before he spoke earnestly:
"I haven’t been out for many years, so I truly have a question to ask..."
"What is it?" Cui Lande asked.
"In this day and age, are all battles this shaless?"
Garcia’s eyes twitched as he asked through clenched teeth.
