Chapter 3: Broken star Dinsion: 657:886.1.

Desolate winds blew in from the north, which gave this area the sa feeling one would get from a lifeless desert.

Lin Mu’s phone vibrated again but this ti more mildly, He stared at his phone screen and saw that a prompt text appeared on his phone.

[ Location: Broken star Dinsion: 657:886.1]

" So you are responsive and interactive " Lin Mu found himself asking, yet his hope’s were flushed away the next instant when he didn’t receive another prompt ssage.

’ Just forget it, First things first, How on earth am I supposed to get out of here now’ Lin Mu thought. He squatted down and grabbed a hand full of the soil below his feet.

’ it really is just sand.., Though this is my first ti seeing sand of such a variety before. If my mory serves right then am definitely sure there isn’t any vast locations on earth with blood red sand before, Not to ntion this strange blood red sky ’ Lin Mu felt his heart drop when he ca to such a conclusion. ’Blood-red sand? And a blood-red sky?. Either I’ve been dropped into a heavy tal album cover, or hell just decided to up its aesthetic ga.’

" In layman’s terms, Am basically stranded in god knows where, with no helpers, No known structures in sight, and no ideas on how i can get back ho " Lin Mu’s face dropped, he felt hopeless right now since his thoughts were basically true. "Looks like I’m living the dystopian dream, just without the cool leather jacket or a gang of post-apocalyptic road warriors."

[Ding]

[To return back to the origin point, Host needs to first survive past the allotted ti fra in order to clear the Systems Tutorial.] A new series of ssages erged on Lin Mu’s phone screen.

" What’s this allotted ti fra you speak of " Lin Mu asked his phone or should he say the cultivation system.

Right now he was basically stranded so the quicker he realized an escape route, The better.

[ Current remaining Ti: 23:59:36 ]

" The hell?, 24 hour’s‽"

"I’ve been to all night study sessions less painful than this!" Lin Mu couldn’t believe his eyes, and it was understandable since no one would’ve taken it any lighter if they were inford that they would have to stay in so unknown land for 24 hour’s.

’ What kind of BS [1] is this anyways?’

[Warning: Host is warned against breaking the 2nd system andnt (Do not disrespect the system)]

[Caution: Continuous use of such illicit words shall attract a penalty]

’ Shit!, it’s in my head too‽’ Lin Mu almost lost his footing due to shock when he heard the systems, cold, feminine voice resonating in his mind, her tone calm but laced with an otherworldly authority.

" So you can hold a conversation."

"Well at least I won’t die talking to myself." Lin Mu rolled his eyes at the systems threat before making his way down the sandy dune he was atop of.

He wasn’t to keen on wasting ti on useless subjects, instead he asked the next question he had on mind

" Could you explain to why your called the Null God Cultivation System?, also, What is a Null God by the way?"

For a mont, only the eerie silence of the desert answered him.

[The Null God Cultivation System is the embodint of the void]

[It is unbound by the constraints of mortal or divine hierarchies.]

[As for your second question, A Null God is not a being of power as you understand it, but an existence that rejects the essence of creation itself.] The system replied, For a second,

Lin Mu blinked, trying to process the words. "...Right. So, basically, you’re saying I’m supposed to beco a god of nothing? Like, ’Congrats, here’s your divine participation trophy’?." Lin Mu said sarcastically when he couldn’t understand a word of what the system just said.

He also couldn’t help but wonder whether he sensed the visible awe and admiration in her voice when she spoke about the Null God for so reason, as if she herself had gotten the honor of witnessing such a being first hand.

Nevertheless, Lin Mu quickly shrugged off the idea and continued to listen to what the system had to say.

[ To cultivate through is to sever the threads that bind you to the universe, to transcend the cycle of life and death, to beco nothing and, therefore, everything. Do you understand now human?]

After listening to her, Lin Mu blinked his eyes with a bewildered look on his face before he replied, his exhaustion montarily forgotten. "No I don’t....." Lin Mu said with twitching eye brows, he couldn’t help but feel that the system was using such big words on purpose just to look down on him.

" All I got was that what you said sounded ominous. Is this so kind of edgy na thing, or am I actually cultivating to beco a.....what, a god of nothing?. How does that even make sense?."

The System’s laughter echoed, cold and condescending. [Leave it to the pitiful human to insult one if the greatest beings in existence.....It seems that the humans on this backwater planet are all suffering from ignorance and primitive minds.]

" Did you just insult , no, you just insulted my entire species didn’t you!" Lin Mu’s eyes widened in disbelief, not expecting a system to be so ill-mannered.

[Words cannot encapsulate the majesty of nullity, nor the gift you have been granted. You are unworthy even to speak of it nor refer to my master in such a way!] The systems voice suddenly got louder as if his words had actually gotten her mad.

"Majesty of nullity?" Lin Mu interrupted, snorting. "You know, you’re starting to sound like one of those motivational speakers who charge $500 a ticket to tell you how to do nothing."

Lin Mu couldn’t help rolling his eyes again at the systems obvious favoritism towards this so called Null God. Though he knew about systems from his grandfather’s stories, he’d never heard of a system being so prideful and condescending before, truth be told he was begining to worry whether this system was actually a curse rather than a blessing.

If he could help it, he really didn’t want to ask her another question at the mont, but in other to satisfy his curiosity, he decided to press on. "Okay, then can I ask you sothing else?, Back on Earth, My planet, everyone had their own unique abilities like telekinesis, elental manipulation, stuff like that. I don’t really understand this Null and God stuff you keep talking about, all I wanna know is if you can give sothing like that? You know, an ability of my own, Sothing normal would be greatly appreciated?" Lin Mu asked only to regret it the next second.

For a mont, there was silence. Then the System’s voice returned, dripping with disdain.

[Normal?, Did you just utter the word Normal?!] The system yelled, sounding completely enraged.

[You would forsake the path of ultimate transcendence for a mundane parlor trick fit for insects?!!!, is your species really that brain dead and foolish!!]

Lin Mu groaned. "Okay, first of all, ouch. Second, if transcendence involves listening to you roast for 24 hours straight, I might just take the parlor tricks, thanks!."
