Danzo thought that unleashing powerful ninjutsu inside the village—regardless of civilian casualties or structural damage—was already extre enough, yet he never imagined he would et soone even more extre.

He could scarcely picture how much devastation a sky‑wide barrage of molten lava volcanic bombs might wreak if left unchecked.

One thing, however, was clear to him: neither he nor his summoning beast could afford to be struck by any of that lava.

He had experienced lava's terror first‑hand only a few days earlier.

"Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!!!"

Danzo drew a deep breath of the sulfur‑laden air. Beneath him, his summon Baku raised its head and opened its vast jaws.

Puh‑puh‑puh‑puh‑puh—!

Wind spheres fired out in a dense stream, eting the falling lava bombs head‑on. The two torrents smashed together in mid‑air.

Just then, out of the corner of his eye, Danzo noticed that Uchiha Chizumi's figure had suddenly vanished!

"Damn!"

His gaze whipped around in all directions, worried Chizumi would seize the mont to close the gap.

This ti, though, Danzo need not have worried, because Chizumi's first targets were those annoying "little flies."

At so point an orange‑red magma hand, radiating blistering heat, had clamped onto a Root ninja's face.

The mask lted instantly; the molten hand branded itself into the man's flesh.

"Aaaahhhhh—!"

With that shrill scream, Chizumi scarcely had to press. The ninja's face sank in like lting butter—until the screaming stopped and life was gone.

"There's an opening!!"

As Danzo and Baku fought off the volcanic hail, another Root ninja gritted his teeth and charged desperately at Chizumi's exposed back.

Tearing off his flak jacket and undershirt, he bit his thumb, slashed his abdon—

Imdiately black, twisted sealing marks spread across his stomach, draining his chakra so fast his muscles visibly shriveled.

"Binding Seal!"

Whoosh—

The black marks morphed into three iron chains that shot toward Chizumi's back.

Pft! Pft! Pft!

The chains punched clean through him. No blood ca out, yet eerie patterns crawled from the chains, coating his magma‑like skin.

Through the now‑skeletal ninja's eyes, Chizumi seed to struggle—but could not break free.

"Heh…" Drained chalk‑white, the ninja sneered. "This is an Uzumaki—"

"What are you doing?! He's behind you!"

A sudden shout froze him.

Before he could react, his waist‑sheathed blade was yanked out—from behind.

Shluk—

His big head slid off his neck. Chizumi glanced at the headless corpse, then at the iron chains skewering empty air ahead.

The Sharingan's genjutsu really is overpowered.

In a life‑or‑death fight, a one‑second illusion decides everything.

"ow! They're ganging up on Chizumi-sama! Rookie, run faster— we've got to help him!"

Jujiro led a swarm of ninja cats, racing toward the Yamanaka compound, Izumi right behind.

"Jujiro, what is that?!" she shouted mid‑dash, staring at Baku in the distance.

"Call Jujiro‑senpai!" the cat corrected, then answered quickly: "That's the old dog Shimura Danzo's summon—na's Baku. A strong beast, masters wind‑style with no hand signs."

As girl and cats bounded over rooftops, a cloaked figure on the roof ahead drew their eyes.

Izumi turned for a quick look—only to see the figure vanish. As if it had never been there.

"Jujiro… senpai!" Izumi's pupils shrank. "Did you see that person?"

"I did… but I didn't see how he disappeared," Jujiro said gravely. "ow… I think he wore a mask with just one eye showing. Forget him—helping Chizumi-sama cos first!"

"Uchiha Chizumi…"

Under the night sky, faint ripples in the air shimred—a cloaked figure reappeared, a single exposed eye clouded with gloom.

"If not for Minato‑sensei back then, I'd already be dead by your hand, right? Heh… I hear that kid Uchiha Itachi got the sa treatnt."

He muttered to himself:

"First day back in Konoha and I bump into you. Rotten luck. Should I take this chance… to kick you when you're down?"

He looked ahead. Seeing many figures rushing toward the Yamanaka estate, he sighed.

"Forget it… too many people."

BOOM!!!

A scorching tide of lava swept toward Baku and Danzo. The heat made Danzo's eyes sting and skin itch even from dozens of ters away.

Baku sucked in, then exhaled a hurricane. The gale ford a solid wall, barely holding the lava back.

But Danzo noticed the ground under Baku was wrong: cracks glowed dull red, as if sothing terrifying were about to erupt.

His breath caught; pupils contracted.

"Baku—below!"

Baku looked down—lava's glow reflected in its eyes.

KRA‑BOOM!

The ground split; a mass of lava vaulted up like a giant guillotine, chopping toward its head.

Baku lurched back, but the blast was too fast; in the blink of an eye it sliced past.

Danzo watched the crimson blade flash less than three ters in front of him.

"RRAAAGGHHH!!!"

Baku shrieked. Danzo glanced down—its long trunk, and half its face, were simply gone.
