At this point even the Anbu probably haven't finished counting how many people were killed or wounded at the secret research facility tonight.

But Uchiha Chizumi knows.

Sixty‑three people died in total!

The Anbu troopers and the research staff were almost an even fifty‑fifty split.

Scoured by a torrent of molten lava, more than half of the secret base was "cleansed" by the blistering magma. Chizumi left no "Red Nad" enemy alive—except for the Anbu who arrived later.

The researchers he killed dropped "rewards" for Chizumi: fragnts of research knowledge, most of it dealing with the Sharingan and Wood‑Release cells.

There were also plenty of grisly human‑experint findings that made Chizumi frown.

They left him feeling as if his own mind had been dirtied.

By contrast, the "rewards" dropped by the red nad Anbu were normal enough—scrolls of ninjutsu or taijutsu experience.

"And then there's Shinnosuke-sensei's legacy…

An S‑rank sealing technique—the Three‑Point Seal."

Chizumi's face never showed the slightest smile. No matter what reward he stripped from a red nad target, it never delighted or surprised him.

The more red nad criminals there were in the shinobi world, the stronger he could beco in executing justice—but it also ant the world itself was sinking deeper into sickness.

He stripped off his gear, stepped into the bathroom, and turned on the taps, letting scalding water—hot enough to burn ordinary skin—pound freely over him.

Chizumi kept his scarlet, Triple‑tomoe Sharingan wide open.

Even when the boiling water splashed into his eyes, it did him no harm.

"Shinnosuke-sensei, when justice is confined to the standpoint of Konohagakure alone, it ceases to be justice. Only by wielding Absolute Justice and purging the entire shinobi world can we keep more people like you—lost in the abyss without realizing it—from appearing."

He muttered to himself.

The next morning – dawn

Izumi awoke from a nightmare yet again.

This ti she dread that, at a single order from the Hokage, thousands of Anbu stord in and arrested both her and Chizumi-senpai.

What awaited them was the village's harshest torture.

Even her mother, her only family, was implicated and thrown in prison.

And then—

Izumi jolted awake.

The instant she ca to, she leapt up, pulled back the curtains and peered outside. Seeing no Anbu surveillance, she finally exhaled in relief.

"Just a dream…"

Her heart was still racing.

She slapped her cheeks, flew through washing up, getting dressed, and breakfast. After a quick farewell to her mother, Uchiha Hazuki, she stepped out the door—only to freeze.

"Uh‑oh… Chizumi-senpai never said where we're eting!"

Should she try Ichiraku Ran, the place he ntioned a few days ago?

What if he wasn't there?

Hmm…

"I'd better go to his house."

Deciding to ask so uncles and aunties inside the Uchiha compound, she figured the district wasn't that big; sooner or later soone would know where he lived.

But Izumi imdiately sensed sothing wrong in the compound.

It was early, yet small groups of clan mbers were clustered together, talking heatedly.

Curious, she crept closer to listen.

"I heard the Third Hokage's eldest son is dead… Is that true? Everyone's talking about it this morning—and they say the killer was Uchiha Chizumi!"

"Who knows? I just heard it myself."

"Chizumi—that guy killed Root operatives before, and now the Hokage's son. Must be another one of us supporting rebellion against the top brass, right?"

"Except the radical elders—Elder Setsuna and the others—once tried to recruit him, and he turned them down."

"If Chizumi killed the Hokage's son, won't the village use it as an excuse to strike at the Uchiha?"

"Tch, that troublemaker sure knows how to stir things up…"

Izumi broke into a cold sweat.

How had last night's events spread so fast—after only one night and half a morning?

It felt as if soone had leaked it on purpose, though she had no proof.

After much stopping and starting she finally located Chizumi's house.

"So… this is Chizumi-senpai's place?"

She looked up at the unremarkable two‑story building—almost too plain.

"Early bird today, rookie."

A sudden voice nearly scared the life out of her.

She turned—and found Chizumi-senpai standing silently behind her!

Flustered, she blurted, "I'm already at zero points with you, senpai. If I were late again I'd go into the negatives—so I left early!"

Chizumi nodded. "Let's go."

"Yes, sir!"

Izumi trailed him nervously, afraid he'd overheard the clan's unfriendly gossip—and soon her fear ca true.

They passed several Uchiha shinobi so engrossed in their discussion that they never noticed the pair walking by. The topic, inevitably, was last night's rumor.

Izumi's brows drew tight.

Glancing at her ntor's back, she bit her lip, spun around, and burst out:

"What nonsense are you spouting! Chizumi-senpai didn't kill the Hokage's son for no reason! He's no murderer—he was carrying out justice!"

Oh no—oh no…

She had never imagined she would argue so impulsively.

The discussing shinobi turned their eyes on her—Izumi broke into a cold sweat.

But they looked even more frightened: their faces went stiff as they finally realized Uchiha Chizumi was right in front of them.

Izumi had already committed herself. She went on:

"The Hokage's son was running a secret research base—performing experints that couldn't see the light of day!

"He even killed volunteers from Konoha who agreed to beco test subjects! He kidnapped countless war orphans as guinea pigs! His hands were drenched in blood—his soul long since eaten away by evil!

"Right is right and wrong is wrong! He was wrong! Even if he was the Hokage's son, that doesn't change facts—he admitted it himself!

"Soone like that road free in Konoha, untouched by any law. No one ever dared bring him to justice.

"Isn't that the tragedy? And you're blaming Chizumi-senpai for killing him?

"What on earth are you doing!!!"

Done…

She was dood!

Only then did Izumi realize that, in her passionate defense, she had blurted out what might be classified secrets—and in the process practically destroyed the Hokage's son's reputation.

Had her words just now already started spreading through the entire village of Konoha?
